hahaha im glad u got something in hand buddy. but dont make the mistake of settling for "worse" hardware only to have it in hand a few days earlier. its gonna bite u in the butt later down the line.

and true, the big trusty tech shops in germany are mostly online only or have like a single digit number of brick n mortar stores around. not really convenient. what would be the alternative, like Media Markt / Saturn? 😅😂

LOL thanks for instantly proving my point above @biting u in the butt 😄

in any case, u can just plug in the 8 pin and ull be fine, unless ure planning to do some super serious OCing.

also, looking at the pin outs, u could theoretically plug in half of an 8 pin into the 4 pin mobo, just make sure the pins align with each other in terms of their physical shape (some are square, others have rounded corners).

HOWEVER!

make sure that ure using the proper motherboard connectors on the PSU side. sometimes they have different pin outs for PCIe (gpu) and EPS 12V (CPU).

Haha yes, thanks yes i read that the 4 is optional, i will buy anyway some new white cables, this corsair black ones are really ugly and they dont bend nicely

Yes will do. Strange that corsair didnt include that 4 pin cable in the box. I mean its rm850x, the new 2021 modeland they put 3 cpu 8 pin connectors and no 4 pin.. Cheap bastards😂

normally they would make the 8 pin cables split into 6+2 or 4+4 to cover all bases. i guess that was just bad luck with this particular model 😅

After many hours the system is ready, everything is working, fresh install of windows 10 pro. Don't mind the cabels inside didnt do any cable management. , i will redo all the cables when i get some new ones in white, also i didnt put the 1660 inside anymore because i will get tomorrow a 3080 vison in white👍. Got a good price for one only 550 euro so it will do until rdna 3 launch. 😁. Also i want to mount it vertical but i need a bracket and a riser cable from lian li and also i will put abother 7 vents inside, hopefully they will come on Tuesday.

Hahah did the whole day with breaks, just quick to see if everything is working, didnt do any photos of the back, there is a jungle of cables..so many cabels in todays desktops, 10 years ago was not this complicating. Also need to copy and install all the programs, thank god i can use 2 SSDs from the clevo inside,so only need to copy 2 drives instead of 4.

Yes the 3080 vision is perfect for  the build, very nice looking in silver and white. I want to put it vertical but now i saw Lian Li want 90 E for that bracket 🤣...what you do for the perfect build 😝

going to sell it. Dont need it if rdna 3 boards have more power in ray tracing then the 3xxx series if the rumors are right.

could actually be that the new AMD cards will come close or even beat Nvidia's 4000 series. there must be a reason why the green team went SO overboard with power consumption and cooling on the 4090. raytracing will likely still be a win for Nvidia, but AMD's improvements will be higher gen-over-gen, so gap is slowly closing!

btw, contacted both Phanteks and Caseking today, hoping to sort out the apparently defective LED strip. also noticed that the LED ring around the power button doesnt work, huh.... well lets see what they say. fingers crossed!

Well for me is pefect if they can reach 3090 RT level, i mean i dont need 200 FPS wiTH RT, over 60 steady is enough for casual gaming, rpg and the stuff, for multiplayer shooters i dont need RT bling bling, i always down the level so i can see better to frag the nubs 😀.

Update on the rig, so like every new thing there has to be some problems, especially with AMD, they dont disappoint, or at least ASUS 🤪. With the bios delivered on the board i was having constant crashes in  gpu intensive stuff, memory problems with this Kingston 4800 cl 38, maybe because they are to slow..ill need to get those Sweet 6000  soon, but need to get some funds again, this case is nuts so expensive to mode it to your liking, i think i paid almost 600-700 euro for the case and the whole brackets and cables and fans..:D.

After the new bios update everything is smooth, no crash i am still testing but Doom Eternal and Cyberpunk are butter smooth

Seems there a lot of crashes due to different DRAM sticks and and bios versions, especially on ASUS MB...probably will need some 2 3 bios updates until everything is ok.

I think Caseking will sort it out, i also returned some stuff to them, what was weird i needed to wait for almost 2 days until they send me the Retoure Sticker, they have a stupid antique return System..i mean you have to send them an email with the problem and wait until they answer it...jesus, where  is the automatic  response and easy procedure like amazon and co..

WHAT?! 600-700€ on the case, wth are u doing my man! focus on the function / performance, dont get lost in the looks / form! 😄

glad the bios update helped you out, its to be expected that RAM compatibility will improve over time. im currently also just running a ruick n dirty 6000 setting, havent started proper tuning yet on the RAM.

i started ocing on the 4090, at present finetuning vRAM, looks like +1580 Mhz could be stable, resulting in 24.2 Gbps, not bad! next up will be the core, but im already frequently bumping into the 520W limit of the vbios, hm.... so far my attempts at crossflashing have been unsuccessful, black screen every time. at least dual vbios is helpful in this regard, easy to recover 🙂 in any case, 600 or 630W vbios is needed! but the Suprim X cooling is absolutely amazing, both for vRAM and core, even under heaviest loads like FurMark, core/vRAM temps only went to mid 70s with hotspot in the low 80s. mind you, this is with basically nonexistent case cooling yet since im still missing all my case fans 😄

regarding Caseking, thats good to hear. i dont mind waiting a bit, its not like its something urgent. as long as they take care of me, its all well 🙂

Haha.. I just went with it and bought thing after thing like an idiot😬. Ok lets ssay the 7 fans are worthy cus they are also good and keep the things cool inside.

In other news.. I am soooooo stupid 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. The 4 pin cpu cable was here from the start😆😆, this is when you dont build desktops from a long time you dont check the simple things anymore

Yes the ram still needs tuning alot on this platform and hope asus will bring bios updates quick.

Also i bought new DDR 6000 RAM : D532GB 6000-36 Trident Z5 RGB K2 GSK  in silver white so it can pass with theme.

I hope I can build it today

Build its almost done,  i just need an argb splitter cablre for the back fan, i dont have any more ports on the lian li hub for the last fan😆, i also installed the new trident z ram. The cables in the back are still a mess though,  will do better management when the splitter is here.

Haha, appreciate the totally undue credit bro @ryan. Morally, I have been here from the very beginning, unfortunately had to drop out from the

notebooktalk.net inception fray just before delivery due to unexpected heavy life commitments. Really glad @Recieverand others stepped up to the plate to save the forum. We are still a bit hard to find in google at the moment, but I'm sure this will change.

I plan to institute some changes that will help alleviate that. Getting rid of compilation/mosh pit threads in certain areas will do wonders. I discovered that for one of our Official threads its top 3 search result when googling via the name of the system. Official NH55JNNQ started by @electrosoft

So, some standardization in certain areas will be key to elevating the forums in terms of search results.

I would suggest care with forcibly splitting threads. It might improve structure clarity, but would it help stimulate contributions given that some very active people here are  deeply libertarian types to put it mildly ;). Depends on the thread and the people I guess. One thing I would suggest based on my initial impressions would be to trim and declutter the structure to eliminate dead sections. For instance, you split one of the AW subsections into two - seemed totally unnecessary, and there is barely any activity in either one.
