    So 3080 works on R1 as slave? With master GPU being Nvidia I suppose? Isn't overclocking display dangerous? On 3dmark I was getting max 62fps So you managed to get 11k with 115W bios?

    Okay thanks. Your PC runs at PCIE 2.0 x16, that's like PCIE 3.0 x8 which is good. I noticed now that your GPU has the "Ray tracing" enabled? Is that true? I sent you a new offer in DMs.

    On GPU-Z, the UEFI isn't ticked/enabled so it's more likely legacy because it booted in your legacy bios laptop. Also you're using the same dell vbios when you had the wires on the SOIC8 VBIOS? I also sent you a DM, can you answer? Thanks.

    Can I see a picture of the VBIOS soldered in? I mean your laptop is probably running the same legacy bios type as mine. I'll probably have better chances because there are 2 MXM slots, all of them are 100W

    Okay. I did see more pictures. Is it possible for you to use good quality wires and I don't know if it'll close my cover ? Your idea seems good if we want to reflash the VBIOS fast. Also you're using a 16GB card in a 2009-2010 laptop wow. It's the same generation as the Clevo but mine is a mobile X58.

    Hello. Does it have a VBIOS chip installed (I don't see it on the photos)? Will it work as a slave card? Let's say my main display would be an Intel HD Graphics or Nvidia GeForce 460M, will the P5200 work as a renderer? I'll use it on Clevo X7200. Clevo X7200 can support max to GTX 680M as master/main display because BIOS lacks UEFI.

    How do you have 11k score? I only get 9500... Show me your GPU-Z VBIOS settings please Also my RTX 3080 is dead. It's recognised as 8GB instead of 16GB and sometimes it's 0MB. It always BSOD and can't run 3d apps. Only the RTX 3060 MXM works fine.

    However, the RTX 3060 MXM on the other Alienware 18 R1 works great. FurMark ran! So I think my RTX 3080 is faulty? There's a one year warranty so it can pass.

    GPU is still awkward. Probably a driver problem with Windows 10 or whole GPU. FurMark doesn't run. And the GPU is reporting very weird values on GPU-Z. Check attached pictures. It does 0MB then 8GB but it's a 16GB card...

    Ok guys for some random reasons. I went to device manager and disabled the GPU then enabled it back and the error was gone. I ran one 3dmark TimeSpy and I got 9500 graphics scores, nice. I was using Hwinfo fan tune, the only fan who was at max was the CPU one, the GPU one was controlled by the EC I guess... Do I need to extend my warranty? Or is it common to get random error 43 because of windows?

    I tried DDU and reinstalling, it didn't work. Still the same error. Although, the GPU is detected in the bios.

    Hello guys. I'm now getting error 43 on the GPU. Windows was acting weird, like it was trying to install some drivers, I don't know. I got a BSOD before that, TDR VIDEO FAILURE

    That's strange. Why does my 3060 work then? It's stupid to make the 3080 work on the AW18 because of the MXM slot's power limit. Maybe the card won't work because of the MXM port? Who knows X-vsion uses generic bios for their 3000 series. Like the 3060, 3070 and 3080.

    You need mod INF with NVCleanInstall. The drivers from X-VSION won't work. My bios is saved in Techpowerup recently. Search for RTX 3080 Laptop 16GB from X-Vsion

    If 3060 works then It should work. I don't want to swap everything. They use the same drivers.

    @sliderfra @therhor70 @ssj92 @janepa Here are the results for RTX 3060 12GB MXM with i7 4930MX at 4.1GHz Some reasons board does max 70W, instead of 80-90W! Tested on AW18 with 100W heatsink. Trimmed the fins to make it fit. Normal thermal paste, no PTM7950 6900-7000 on Timespy.

    Yeah I tested an old defective one. The keys that are working on the defective aren't working on my other keyboard. I don't know why, some of the keys are working again but seconds after I touch the keys, they stop working and the rest are working... External USB keyboard, all touches work. I bought a new keyboard for 87€, blue ribbon. I'll see. My AW18 R1 keyboard is still working.

    It's still good because there are no thermal throttles otherwise the score would be under 6000 if throttled!

    Why is keyboard half working guys? Also the speakers from the Alienware stopped working. Using SG or IGFX same results. Edit: Speakers are working again, problems with drivers. Keyboard is still glitching out on which keys should work... Maybe broken ribon cable... That what happens when you disassemble too much I guess

    What? I already modded the cooler to fit inside the laptop, it took me 3-4 hours of dremel. 87 is the max degree. It means it was averaging 75C during benchmarks. I think the GPU is really doing 115W. I think the 150W was coming from their MXM to PCIE adaptor. There's a resistor number 007.
