I don't understand the video because I can't watch it right now. I don't understand what gap do you mean? Between the GPU die and the copper heatsink?

I can lower to 110W using MSI Afterburner but... It also decreases the thermal limit. From 83C to 75C. Yes it thermal throttles at 75C at 110W... Funny

I don't know. My PTM 7950 is a 20mm thick one instead of the 25mm one. I saw some tests with liquid metal and there are no gains.

For my model, that's kinda stupid to make the slot use up to 200W but only having a 100W heatsink 😕 You sure Liquid metal is better than PTM 7950? Won't it harm the chip? Any protection to add?

Did you read my my post? I did use it. If I didn't use that driver, how am I gonna change power limits? The only thing I can't change is the thermal limit, it's grayed and no values.

Eurocom's played with the words. Now they say 200W is only for the power delivery haha

Do you know a way to counter MSI Afterburner's power limit and thermal limit synchronization? Like when I drop the power limit to 70%, the thermal limits drops by 8C, so no headroom as anticipated... I wanna drop the power limit to 70% and keep the stock thermal limit to 83C (and not 75C)

I got an email from them, they told me 200W... Still, I limit the power but I still get thermal throttling. The heatsink can handle my P5200 110W very well

Yes sadly. The only way I can do is AMD + NVIDIA but this won't work due to OpenGL/CL inconsistencies and the AMD wouldn't let the Nvidia to render.

Hello I got an RTX 4080 12GB MXM card. It's kinda useless because it thermal throttles at 83C (91C hotspot) at 150W. Even with some good thermal pads and PTM 7950. Eurocom said the heatsink can support 200W of heat (what a joke). I tried to use MSI afterburner with Nvidia 528.49 drivers, I can limit the power limit but... It also decreases the thermal limit... 81C thermal throttle at 130W (85%) 75C thermal throttle at 110W (70%) I tried to lower the clocks a lot but this didn't help either, I get stutters from thermal throttling in 3dmark benchmarks. Isn't there a way to make the GPU run at 110-115W with a 83C or 85C thermal limit? The VBIOS is also uploaded on techpowerup as X-VSION RTX 4080 12GB. The VBIOS has some weird base clock speed for a 150W card...

Hello. I searched on the net to find a driver that's compatible for both Kepler and Ada GPUs. But I didn't find one. I even tried to .inf mod a 572 version driver but the Kepler gave error 43. My setup is a Quadro K3000M (max supported from the first MXM slot) + RTX 4070 Mobile. Please help me get this to work.

Yes I got the laptop, epic. If it works on this, it'll 100% work on Alienware.

Hello. Not gonna test in M18X r2, the 3080 stays in.

HP Elitebook 8570W - is it still good ? Hardware modifications
SuperMG replied to GuitarG's topic in Custom Builds
Hello. My screen is an LG LP173WF2-TPA1. It says online it's an eDP 50pins screen. For your screen, online it just says LVDS. For the CPUs, you can get one on AliExpress. I bought many CPUs there and no problems found.- 354 replies

Hello. My RTX 3080 got fixed so everything is fine. (The IC was glitching due to a short-circuit caused by a screw). Compatibility: The RTX 3060 12GB works fine on laptops with Optimus (intel HD + NVIDIA) or laptops with dual MXM slots (NVIDIA + NVIDIA) with some vbios. You need to modify your heatsink to make the core fit perfectly onto the copper middle part of your heatsink. There's like an offset of 9mm to the right. The 3060/3080 don't have eDP output for internal displays. Performance: It's a 80W card and it performes like a 80-95W one.

HP Elitebook 8570W - is it still good ? Hardware modifications
SuperMG replied to GuitarG's topic in Custom Builds
Hello. What screen do you use in your laptop? I mean you managed to get an RTX 5000 Turing to display on your internal screen. Is it pure-eDP or half LVDS and half eDP?- 354 replies

HP Elitebook 8570W - is it still good ? Hardware modifications
SuperMG replied to GuitarG's topic in Custom Builds
The seller said 4060 won't work with eDP but the listing says it is. He did confirm that RTX 4050 and 4070 have eDP, they are both MXM A cards, the better one being at 115W max.- 354 replies

Hello guys. I tested RTX 3060 from X-Vsion on the first slot of my laptop without OPTIMUS. Nothing on the main screen but does output on the HDMI screen. I cannot go far because the cooler wasn't compatible and I had the three LED blinds lol- 354 replies

Hello. Will you ever test RTX 4060/4070 MXM 3.0A on your laptop? They are from X-Vsion and cost below 450€ They don't require 4G decoding as @panda_zzzgot the 4060 work on Alienware M17X R4 with optimus. No one else tested the GPU on eDP without optimus- 354 replies

Quadro P5200 having low wattage on Clevo X7200
SuperMG replied to SuperMG's topic in Components & Upgrades
@ssj92Hello. I found something interesting. I installed a GTX 970M 6GB 80W card on the X7200. So I have GTX 485M + GTX 970M 6GB, same GeForce drivers. I managed to use 100% of the GPU TDP. 82.8W max on Heaven benchmark. 77W average. On 3dmark, I got 90W max! (2300 points on graphics) But on the P5200, I can only do max 77W... Meanwhile it's a 110W card. There's no power problems, because I did manage to get max 127W, 128W readings on the same slot. -
@ssj92 Yep I lost the render capabilities. I tried everything. DDU at every try. Changing installation order (Nvidia then AMD, AMD then Nvidia). I can only use the GPU on GPU-Z!! the rest, it takes the HD 6990M, no matter what. Nvidia control panel is set to the high performance Nvidia GPU. Same for the regedits... What should I do? I need some help. When I disable the HD 6990M Some DX9,10,11,12 starts to render on the P5200. OpenGL doesn't work OOPS WRONG POST 😞
