  1. welp thats the thing, they can write it into their warranty policies all day long but how are they gonna trace it back to overclocking when they receive defective silicon?
  2. hey man, (late) welcome from me, as well 🙂 so nice to see that our little forum here can bring a bit of happiness, especially in such a dreadful context as an ongoing war....stay safe, stay enthusiastic!
  3. whats your import tax in hungary? @ssj92since its "used hardware" you might wanna put a lower price tag on it for import purposes 😛 after all, the sticker "value" of the package contents doesnt always have to coincide with the selling price 😄
  4. ah welp....why cant it just be easy for once? hahaha
  5. damn, even MORE demanding than R23. if this trend keeps up, there wont be a need to use a powervirus like P95 anymore 😄 ill download and test it out once i get home. curious to see which command line instructions still work, sometimes they update the syntax, other times they dont. any new features / options integrated vs. CB R23? i find it interesting to see how vastly different games react to the same hardware. some games where X3D leaves everything else completely in the dust, in this case more cache only helps a tiny bit, specific arch and jiggahertz galore is the winner. i hope this is not a new trend that will intensify in the future. i dont want to have to specifically look up all games and programs i POTENTIALLY want to use in the future and adapt my hardware accordingly. as we all know, theres always new software around the corner so things might change rapidly.... ugh i actually find this super interesting (me being the big data / statistics nerd that i am 😄 ) especially long term wise, this would be a cool indicator for silicon wear / degradation. aside from accumulated temp theres also the same for voltage and amperage. the only time this would SUCK though, is if manufacturers use these values to judge, whether or not a cpu / mobo / etc was overclocked or utilized in a "suboptimal ambient thermal environment" to try and get out of warranty claims ðŸĪŠ
  6. thats promising though. one could feasibly either solder the eDP connector onto the board, or if you have one of those older models, you could swap out the internal screen with an eDP model. they include the cable for it 🙂
  7. ah that sucks, i remember Pascal onwards was dependant on eDP only, no more lvds. maybe theres some kind of signal adapter? aliexpress always offers crazy stuff like that 😄
  8. haha i should have elaborated: /s = sarcasm 😄 thanks man, i DO enjoy the time with the lille skiderik hahaha
  9. LOL i thought exactly the same thing when i read about that 8h gaming session 😄 1-2h freetime a day if im lucky hahaha. and half of that is spent doing household chores or paperwork. INFLATION! has nothing to do with corporate greed! /s
  10. yeps, basically a tad downclocked 10900K cuz Intel wasnt able to supply those in big enough numbers haha.
  11. nice writeup, thanks for that. havent gotten around to watching it yet, but its on my playlist. this sounds like Starfield profits way more from raw jiggahertz than it does from increased cache sizes. curious to see how its performance numbers will develop with upcoming patches. especially on the cpu side there seems to be A LOT of performance still left on the table....
  12. noice! welcome to the 8k club! how stable is it? what mobo are you running? and what sticks? damn thats a very nice write up, thanks for that 🙂 ill check and see if lowering VDDP will help, fingers crossed! whats the max bootable frequency u were able to do on AM5? irrespective of stability, just bootable.
  13. WAT?! THATS 2.4 FPS LESS THAN THE 4090, HOW DARE YOU WANTING TO SETTLE FOR LESS /s 😛 hey bud, yeah booting with 8000 is not the issue, its getting it stable that is 😄 as for being stuck at 1.43V, look for a bios option that unlocks RAM PMIC high voltage mode, then u can go above 1.43. good input there, thx for that. i didnt expect the board to be the bottleneck here, would suck if its not tied to the CPU IMC. lets see what upciming AM5 CPU gens bring to the table, im expecting an improvement with new IMC, even on the same board. heres to hoping! and in the meantime, ill keep on tweaking and tuning...i want my 8000 stable! 😛
  14. kool man, let us know how theey compare on u got the data compiled 🙂 should be interesting!
  15. keeping tabs on your results man, curious to see what you come up with 🙂
  16. what res are u testing it at? try and bump it up to the max. also set your gpu back to full stock, see if that does anything for the gpu utilization. if it does, might indeed be a cpu bottleneck potentially caused by the unoptimized engine. its at least capable to scaling up to 6 cores / 12 threads.... https://techreport.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=86637
  17. you make it sound like your 3090 is like 10 years old man haha
  18. hmmmm u think its stable yet? 😄 so i went ahead and completely nuked my bios including all my saved profiles, starting from scratch. had the feeling somehow that switching RAM kits and having upgraded like 4-5 bios versions while carrying over and mixing old profiles might have fucked something up. back to square one, manual input all the way. lets see what we got now! ah, the wonders of ram tuning.....lulz
  19. welp you know what this means boiz: time for a GPU upgrade! 4090 aint cutting it no more! oh wait... /s ðŸĪĢ well dayum, investigative forum journalists fox & papu FTW 😄 crazy story indeed!
  20. LOL u "think" that might be one too many? hahaha but i get it your focus is more on alienware classics 🙂 good luck with the sale!
  21. damn dude, this is a gem and looks like pristine condition. sad to see you sell it off...
  22. ok didnt see THAT one coming...how long has herkelman been the radeon graphics boss? all the way back to hmscott's beginnings at NBR? u sure about that? it would be roughly the perf. of a 4070 Ti, so maybe equivalent to a 5060 Ti released around the same time... thats pretty lowend for your standards 😋
  23. LOL had to laugh at that, HECK of a way to go out with his 4090 blowing up on camera and breaking a world record run 😄 hey bud, im currently also playing around with DDR5-8000, any pointers for stability? GDM disable is a total nogo for me, instant BSOD when i try to boot. VDDIO maxed to 1.58V, VDD(Q) at 1.6, VSOC 1.3, turned down FCLK to 2000 until i figured out stability, VDDP 1.18, loosened timings.
  24. its pretty for sure, i used to rock a P150HM myself back in the day 🙂 yeah, that was one of the HM series annoying disadvantages, its lack of GPU support...the subsequent EM and SM series were way more forgiving in terms of unofficial GPU upgrades! latest I heard was 980M being made compatible after heavy bios modding....but that was a one of a kind mod and destroyed the mobo in the end haha.
  25. well, he cleared the way, really, had to utilized internal contacts so we can get our hands on the signing key. unfortunately, thats not something we can distribute openly 😄 thinking is rather to make the mod itself available to owners of this machine, but that would depend on the rainbow master himself on how to approach this. makes sense, with the stock 230W psu only short peaks would be doable. if the CPU alone is already drawing as much wattage as the psu is rated at, then u wouldnt be able to keep that up for long without tripping OCP or OPP haha. thanks for checking 🙂 cool, sounds good. keep on testing and keep us updated! unfortunately im also somewhat limited with the current 12600 in my lady's machine, K series skus allow way more tweaking.
