  1. There is always the retro benching, probably lighter on the wallet overall save for the cost of your sanity looking for old waterblocks. I have been thinking to start figuring out how to solder and see what interesting things can be done going that route. Problem is its sitting pretty far back in the line of things to do lol
  2. Probably for the best, wasn't there some rumors about Intel hedt parts making another round? Might be more up your alley but of course also a bit of a steep pricing curve.
  3. That may change if the X3D chips are an overall step up over the current 7xxx chips, then again should hopefully be able to step it up 3-4 generations later
  4. It gets tricky when you pay for the year up front, because then I would issue a charge back on the card
  5. I guess that just means they wanted to avoid the memes that would surely be made for when the Ti variant needs 5 or 6 8pin cables
  6. Wait, does that mean I am no longer average? Damn. 4 window fans, standing fan, 10 fans for my uhh "server". I have a box of about dozen+ fans waiting for me to stop being lazy. Yeah, I guess I need to toss in my average membership card
  7. Looks like they want to reduce supply to keep pricing higher as a result, though I confess to not having a good understanding of all the components of that type of business.
  8. It is quite a bit better than most 1070 results I am looking at right now, should be a good send off for a 4980hq, though I'll need to make sure that posts in the P157SM-A first before I let my hype get the better of me.
  9. Source (A750) Source (A770)
  10. Always exceptions to the rule, though I would wager (or at least, have the expectation) that if they used the wraith cooler, it would be as an interim cooler until budget allows for the heatsink they desire. That time duration shouldnt be concerning, but only if we dont see failures over the next 6 months or so. Yeah most titles dont saturate all cores, thats not to say that no games do either though. Prospective owners will need to be responsible enough to anticipate to some degree what their respective use cases are, which is a policy I generally prefer in all aspects of life. That of course only applies in the event that the information we have is true and accurate.
  11. I dont think people that can afford a 7950x are going to sweat buying a good cooler (pun intended)
  12. Dead Space is one of my favorite IP's, shame EA killed it but maybe this will get enough interest to justify an actual ending.
  13. I have been meaning to make more of an effort on my network. Its kind of a mess since everything is connected via wireless bridges. Recently noticed that my intranet speed is much lower than I would've liked.
  14. This topic has been bubbling around the forums quite a bit so I think I will need to make some "policy" changes regarding PremaMod. It is my understanding that Prema would prefer PremaMod to not be distributed publicly as (again, my understanding currently) people and companies would steal his work and use it for their own profits as well as user detriment as there were some resulting in laptop failure. As I have great respect for the work that Prema (aka PremaMod) has done for really everyone over the years, I fully intend to respect Prema's wishes regarding the distribution of his work. Any and all posts with Prema's BIOS will be deleted and appropriate infractions issued. This will be maintained until such a time that Prema decides to reverse this position. Now, as @electrosoft has noted, you can always reach out to Prema and hope for the best. If you locate Prema's BIOS elsewhere obviously that is your own decision, however, do not share that here. Lastly, I know it is unreasonable to punish for simply inquiring to the BIOS from Prema. Nothing wrong with asking, believe me, I too, seek to make the most of my systems just as much as anyone else. What I would recommend is seeking out DSANKE's sBIOS and looking over that as my current understanding is that is free for distribution of which I believe is linked in this thread. Do your own research, as always with modifications YMMV. Thanks for your understanding
  15. This forum will respect the wishes of Prema, do not share Prema's work without permission to do so. Any posts related to distribution of such content will be removed, and infractions issued. Consider this a warning. Any transactions potential or otherwise must take place through the Marketplace, @ViktorV if you plan to sell components through the forums then you will be treated as a vendor to which you will need to abide by Vendor guidelines. This point isnt meant as a warning, just as notice. This would also be the case for anyone in a similar circumstance. As I am sure many would be quite interested in that heatsink, especially P870DM-G owners. If there is no P870DM-G thread you are all always welcome to make one :)
  16. Eurocom as I understand it are merely using PremaMod without compensation (stolen), and Prema does not share his work publicly anymore due to people online taking his work and selling it as their own. This forum will respect the wishes of Prema.
  17. Since a huge factor of the temperature stems for om the thick ihs I wonder how the next generation of products for mobile will behave? Particularly if they are bare die and/or with ihs (though I can't recall how often amd uses annihs for mobile).
