    Just scored 2x 5970's for 70 :) Most of the weekend went towards repasting/padding the GTX 295 and HD 4870x2

    Fairly certain nothing special, just Afterburner. You will need to flash custom vbios, with it I was able to hit 1Ghz core and 6000 memory with 1.1v, though keep in mind my card wouldnt hit that without some additional attention from the vBIOS modder @valuxin so I couldnt say if it would work for yours, YMMV and anything you do is at your own risk. https://www.nbrchive.net/forum.notebookreview.com/threads/possible-gpu-upgrade-for-precision-m4600.772547/page-21.html

    Not quite right, I overclocked this card quite a bit alongside @valuxin which is documented in the GPU upgrade thread archived and linked here.

    dB snobs tend to do their research even further than Watercooling types and often run in similar circles. The main problem here is not that those chips run 95c, the actual main problem is the ignorance behind what to do with it. There is nothing that says you cant adjust fan curve is there?

    Still driving my RSX, had to take it back to the shop for 0505 CEL code but should be good to go tomorrow hopefully. 190k miles and when the engine dies ill probably just get a k24a

    I use my stationary bike with a desktop surface instead of handle bars and stream to the laptop from my main pc. Perfect for ace combat or really any offline title. Ups the ante for the last mission when you have to fly underground while pedaling. Obviously fps is out but there are many genres.

    Holy hell, and they are pre-order only. Guess I found a good time to look at older hardware for benching.

    It wouldn't surprise me that they just want to keep the hype going and with 4090 supply seemingly low they can probably get away with a higher price tag to boot. Just my 2 cents though

    Then its probably safe to assume I was mistaken on that, one of the items on his list was DIY Thermal module, but the thread is a bit light on information (or at least to me). Has anyone tried the MXM to M.2 PCIE adapter in these systems?

    Chassis is the same right? Then you're both right :D At work atm, but I assume its 2P + 8E ? Its what I am seeing in the Latitude 5430's and 5530's

    Wouldnt you just need to provide that sensor?     Oh well, I actually have a fair bit of interest in AMD MXM as well (RX 6600 / 5700) Guess I'll need to make some listings tonight

    I wouldnt say I am afraid perse, just ignorant. If there is a write up or two on the net I can read (and re-read) then I have no problem with trial and error. Does this mean that the aforementioned P870DMx_RTX would enable RTX support for the DM3? That is also quite attractive if I were to lower the price a bit and sell the GPU after I was done with it. Performance is obviously a key metric but I also enjoy being able to tinker with a laptop over time, the Ranger used to be that system for me until I hit a wall with it. One of the main reasons I am looking that the DM3 is because my P750FM doesnt have the aux power cable and I am unsure if that is something I can wire in myself internally. Plus its one of, if not the best laptop around so there is always that angle too.

    I'd probably just get one of those hybrid air/water coolers at that point. Not interested in 20xx in the slightest, not worth the effort unless its dirt cheap but as a result isnt a variable to plan against. Im also interested in seeing if I can run AMD + Nvidia at the same time from a curiosity standpoint. The P870 can handle up to 10th Gen ES (mobile BGA to LGA wafer) and if it can handle 30xx then it has plenty of life. Only reason I am not using my FM at the moment is due to the 1080 hard locking the system. Dont know if its the 1080 or the motherboard perse though.

    Dont forget there were plenty that simply could not upgrade because of the mining hype/covid and have been saving for the next gen.

    Will pay attention in 5 years when they have something to present lol CP2077 was initially announced in 2012, considering how its likely to use assets and functions that were created for CP2077 dev time should be shorter but CDPR tends to have longer development cycles for better and/or worse
