  1. Wayyy too expensive mate! You can get a full blow gaming laptop with 4070 rtx for that price...
  2. m18x r2 is better than 18 viking... Motherboard has better voltage rails and lasts longer, MXM port also takes more power. Heatsink are the same between the 2, only CPU one is much better on 18 as it has vacuum chamber
  3. hi, that's the plan yes! You don't necessarily need the AMD 100W. Nvidia HS will do just fine as the gecube 1070 has "low" TDP. Thermal pads are mandatory on RAM & VRMs. Be sure that proper contact is made with heatsink as VRM heat up A LOT! If you do everything by the books and don't overclock TDP (do not use MSI 150W vbios on this card, it will burn quickly), you should be ok for a few years.
  4. put a 4930mx in it, with the vacuum chamber it should overclock nicely
  5. just a theory but IIRC there's an option in drivers to emulate SLI (or hybrid SLI as the cards are very different). Maybe this could solve the TDP issue.
  6. you need a .bat file to flash it IIRC Dell bios won't install if you have a dead battery
  7. hi, Most probably won't work unless you have optimus laptop. Problem is neither p870 nor x170sm do.
  8. well that's weird... Gotta be some LVDS converter of some sort. Did you try another LVDS ribbon? Chances are low but could be that also...
  9. with edp screen there's no way to trick the bios, IGP is purely deactivated.
  10. did you try with only one mxm card and in SG mode (optimus with intel HD)? Could be the converter chip sending signal from mxm to LVDS in PEG mode. If it works in SG mode, it's most probably this and AW will still be usable in SG mode with MXM card.
  11. hi, could be the lvds cable. If it's not, try to remove SLAVE mxm card and test it. If problem remains, try the SLAVE mxm in MASTER slot. You should then be able to pinpoint the failure on one card.
  12. so it seems that the upgrade is not possible. I am definitely not surprised as it's SOP that "greedy" DELL does not want us to upgrade between generations. Last example was Area 51m R1 & R2... Now that MXM is gone, we are definitely stuck with BGA laptops
  13. fortnite should be playable in dx12 mode, I think you need to tweak options a bit. With good tweaks, it almost as fast as "performance" but image is crisper. For RAM tweaking, it's hard to get more than 1600Mhz (JEDEC timing) without using XMP in BIOS (need unlock bios), but with a potential risk of crash I've never used AX210 on old spec AW can't help you
  14. hi, it seems your bios has gone bad. You may need to reflash main bios with a good dump with help of ch341A
  15. hi, As 7550 and 7560 motherboards are strictly identical in shape. Did anyone wonder if RTX Ampere DGFF cards are compatible with 7550?
  16. Great job! That Clevo is awesome but that specific motherboard is prone to trouble (thermals go nuts and you get loud beeps until shutdown)
  17. Very good job. I think of doing the same kind of stuff but I'm trying to keep the SATA at the same time 🙂 Maxwell & pascal also do need to cool VRMs, especially 980m's that are weak.
  18. m17x r4 / m18x r1/2 KB are known to be very sensitive. Check without the adapter if you can, as sometimes it can be the culprit. You may try to find another KB (I have one spare QWERTY "as new" if you don't).
  19. hi, Good job with the upgrade. It does look a bit low, as my 3070 RTX on my TUF (Ryzen 7 6700H) gets around that score. Obviously your global score is lowered due to the very low CPU score (which is normal for gen 3 core i7)
  20. new versions also have same settings. Also check in windows that 1070 is prefered card in games
  21. If you buy a new MB, sometimes SERVICE TAG is blank, and has to be set to old ST.
  22. Hey, Seller is not very professional as you had to force a paypal dispute to get an answer. Cards are different or just vbios differ? Because if cards are the same, and only vbios differs maybe you can flash it with ch341A & 1.8v adapter?
