    As both 278/280 pins are 3.3v & the 3 others are BL pins (that need 3.3V), you may solder blob the 278+280 & 23/25/27 then solder a single wire between them. I think that the easiest solution. One might even put a switch if mod is not needed to revert to standard specs. EDIT: you need to check schematics as MXM pinout on laptop might not be exactly the same. If you solder 3.3V on GND pin you end up with a dead short

    was PNY RTX 3k (standard mxm layout). I tested it on both m6700 & m6800 in optimus mode (hybrid graphics) and it worked nicely. I need to check if I still have screenshot somewhere.

    I tested on my AW18 with unlocked bios, and same thing: if I set IGFX, dgpu is deactivated, and does not appear in BIOS or in windows anymore :/ I genuinely don't know how the TDP trick worked for you

    P5000 is 16GB VRAM, and is almost the same as GTX1080 in terms of cuda cores. RTX3k is 6GB VRAM, and strictly the same as 2060 RTX mobile. If you have edp screen, P5k is much better than RTX3k. If you have LVDS, thus using optimus, I think it's a tie. HP RTX cards needs deep chassis & heatsink mod to fit. Avoid them unless you are ready to dig in dremel & soldering iron...

    hi, Pascal quadros are the best if you have EDP screen on your m6800. If you have LVDS (optimus), you may try RTX 3000 from ADLINK that works nicely. That one is standard mxm layout.

    Hi, Clevo card won't post, as it needs additional voltage that is not in the standard MXM. You will burn the card if you don't mod the mxm connector, and most probably your mxm slot as well. @Khenglish did a mod a few years ago on his Clevo P150 IIRC, but that was quite complicated to do... It was well documented on NBR back in the days, and can possibly be recovered on the archives: https://www.nbrchive.net/

    it's panel Backlight PWM, should PWM is used on the LCD (quite seldom, unless it's OLED display)

    As you'll be cuffed with 2 RAM sticks DDR3, there's no point. Rather go for 4930mx & 32GB RAM. Igpu is not needed anyway on that kind of laptop.

    It's genuine MXM so 3.3V is mandatory, but you have it on the last pins. As you can see on adlink AD5000 mxm, many pins are N/A (non applicable so non wired). There are 4 DP lines but absolutely NO edp wired. Most probably your RTX4k series are non wired either. Turing & Ampere mxm cards don't have EDP wired either... That's why standard MXM RTX 3000 has to use OPTIMUS, whereas HP RTX can bring signal to edp screen. If you look at the Intel Xe mxm pinout, you may see LVDS crossed (so most probably N/A) and EDP_D pins. EGX-MXM-ADA_Series_50M_7C008_1000_10.pdf

    Good job. Best is to use nvcleanstall which does clean inf mod with all customs options that you need (telemetry, trackers off, optimus...). It's pretty straightforward

    hi, it's probably doable, but you'd have to use dual GPU mode (Master GPU to drive internal display and Slave GPU RTX 4000 for 3D app via passthrough on internal screen, and direct output on external screen via HDMI / DP).

    you should flash dell vbios for m4000m, as it will enable PEG mode that does not work with HP vbios

    not 100% sure about resistor mod though. I've got a 3060m in my AW18 and TDP is around 55W (instead of 80W) but performance is still pretty good. RTX3k on the other hand, has very low performance with 40W TDP as only memory throttles (core frq is unchanged)

    The two p3000 modded bios don’t work on m17x r4 with edp 120hz screen. Got 8 beeps. 86.04.70.00.1B works nicely. But no overclocking possible

    Hi, it should work flawlessly. As long as it's same type (EDP and same number of lanes & pinout), no worries. Go for it

    Hi. Do you still suffer from low TDP on the RTX in PEG mode or did you find a workaround?

    Dreaded 7 beeps are mostly pch / chipset failure. Usually BIOS corruption is 1 beep and can be resolved by blind flash (or ch341).
