  1. How did u manage to fit it with the double vapor chamber heatsink?
  2. Looking forward into this!!, my RTX3080 hasn't arrived yet
  3. I'd like to see pictures as well if possible, thank you.
  4. I was about to trade my P870 for a desktop combo, but I just found out I can put a RTX3080 MXM on it, I had to cancel the deal lol... According to the thread it should work right away with stock CLEVO BIOS, so I'm clear on that. But I'm confused about the heatsink, do I have to make any modification or additional mods to the dual vapor chamber heatsink to make it fit? or does it fit right away? I was looking at this GPU: Clevo X170KM NVIDIA RTX 3080 GN20-E7-A1 16GB
  5. Which heatsink do you have? Did you had to make any modification to it in order to fit the RTX3080?
  6. I did not, I used the laptop included MSI recovery to reset the laptop back to the factory windows image with the original drivers from MSI and the problem did not solve, so I guess it's a hardware issue.
  7. I have a MSI GF65 Thin 10UE which HDMI port doesn't work properly. I had it connected to a monitor that I usually use it while working, almost every day, and the other day out of nowhere the monitor lost the HDMI signal from the laptop. I tried that same monitor with another laptop and it works ok, but it doesn't work with the MSI laptop. The weird thing is that the MSI laptop behaves different with different monitors: Asus monitor: monitor detected by windows but black screen HP monitor: monitor detected by windows but black screen, only works if I change the monitor resolution to 800x600 LG monitor: works ok LG TV: the screen flickers when the laptop is connected I've been reading on forums and apparently this has happened to other people with MSI laptops as well. Does anyone have a clue what it could be?
  8. What would be a good asking price for this?, I've been using it for work (software developer) and some gaming (Apex, Warzone, LoL). Always on a second monitor with extra keyboard and mouse, I rarely use the integrated keyboard/touchpad. CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K LCD: 2560x1440 120Hz AUO B173QTN01.0 (Nvidia Gsync disabled) GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 (Mobile) x 2 GPU Heatsink: Vapor Chamber Dual RAM: G.Skill SODIM DDR4 2400 C16 2x16GB SSD: Samsung 860 Pro 500gb 2.5mm MBD: Notebook P870TM_TM1 Power Supply: 2 x 330w Details: Physical condition of the chassis is average; it has dents, scratches, the screen frame has a crack and it is missing a small plastic piece from the back, I got it like this. One of the GPUs might be bad but I'm not really sure since I only use one GPU, the other one (which I think might be bad) is stored.
  9. I've been looking to get new thermal pads for the past few months and just found out this black friday deal on amazon, though you need amazon prime to get the extra discount. Seems like a good price considering how much thermal pads usually cost.
  10. Any recommendation on brands?, I've been seeing some Thermalright pads on Amazon.
  11. Does anyone have the thermal pads measurements for the vapour chamber/GTX 1080?
  12. how did you make it work? is it just plug and play?
  13. I use RLECViewer for custom fan curves.
  14. Some of my most notorious dead hardware: GPU PowerColor AMD Radeon HD 7870 Myst - OC GPU Asus AMD Radeon HD 7970 DirectCU II TOP - OC GPU PowerColor AMD Radeon R9 280X - Memory failure GPU EVGA Nvidia GTX 780 Classified - PSU failure SSD Corsair GT Force 3 90GB - Out of nowhere MB GA-Z97N-Gaming 5 - Out of nowhere HDD Western Digital RED 4TB - Power outage, died inside my NAS Laptop HP Pavilion DV9000 - Motherboard failure Laptop Lenovo G505 - Motherboard failure
  15. The Librem 5 actually looks interesting, with a better price it could be an Android killer. I'd get it for sure, but not for privacy :P
  16. Why get a $800usd smartphone for privacy when you could just get a $30usd prepaid phone without Android/iOS which is better in terms of privacy thatn those overpriced "privacy focused" devices without apps.
  17. That is also my concern with Acer products in general. Thanks for the recommendation.
  18. https://www.amazon.com/Acer-AN515-55-53E5-i5-10300H-GeForce-Keyboard/dp/B092YHJGMN/ref=sr_1_3?crid=5MB7UFQDMI6M&keywords=Acer+Nitro+5+AN515-55-53E5&qid=1650523525&sprefix=acer+nitro+5+an515-55-53e5%2Caps%2C140&sr=8-3 I've been looking at this, looks like a good deal but I'm not sure if it's the best in terms of price/performance
  19. When Netscape died I moved to Mozilla Firefox and used it for everything with no problem for years, but a few months ago it started to have a lot of issues, specially performance issues, so I moved to Brave and it's been great so far. I wanted to try Opera GX a few months ago when I ditched Firefox but I can't touch anything with the "gaming" brand on it.
  20. I think the only downside is the P-OLED screen, makes it almost useless under the sun.
  21. Limited ports on a laptop is a killer for me, I use a laptop because it's a AIO solution, I don't like carrying docks or anything else.
