  1. The guy I got the clevo from bought it from eBay . The seller had a bunch of these cards . Used for AI. In weird mother boards with built in MXM slots . Some even had 4 slots . They then offloaded all the gpus and sold them on eBay as 3080s . Some of the cards are 3080ti mobile versions . So they perform on par with a full 3080 . The 200 watt power draw is tough on most laptops but these clevos do ok as long as you have the vapor chamber .they are designed to be install into rack most systems . The card has 16gb vram . And just works . There is a clevo bios on it to funny enough so hmmmm .
  2. Mine is happy with 2933 . 4.8 ghz all core and 2 core 5 ghz .
  3. The port can handle up to 200 . My 3080 ti easily hits 190 watt . Held back a bit do to CPU bottleneck ( QTJ1 ) but in some games I've seen it spike to 200 . It's a custom mining card
  4. The 4080 MXM that excuses in the wild is a 150 watt part . That I've seen . I have a 200 watt 3080 ti 16gb and apparently it's faster according to developer . Maybe I'm wrong . Further more I think our main limitations is using regular MXM GPUs in these . I've tried with a Quadro p4000 that has known edp support and I was met with angry beeps lol
  5. Both . Even at 2666 it feels better and loading programs is just snappier
  6. Sorry to necro but looks like only need to chop of the heatsink extension on the vapor chamber? To get the tm1 heatsink to fit ? I have a qtj1 and the chip gets spicy at 4.8
  7. One thing . The cache on these is set at 21x so 2.1ghz . I bumped mine to 4.0 made a noticeable improvement
  8. Mine hits 2666 with 3 ram sticks in . Don't ask why lol but I'm betting with the right ram if get 2933 and sadly that's one of the only ways I've found to reset cmos aside from removing a ram stick which then makes the system retrain and boot
  9. My plan is to de lid the CPU . Put better compound on it and 5ghz all core . Regardless the QTJ1 is still a nice CPU
  10. Still testing but getting better scores . At 5 ghz the single core is a bit above 600 but puts out to much heat lol .
  11. Daanke i9 9900ks 128gb bios is the way to go . It has most of the features anyway .
  12. I got myself a QTJ1 mutant CPU . Really nice processor . Mine seems very happy to run at 4.8 ghz all core with a 5 ghz single core oc . P870dm3 flashed with daanke 9900ks 128gb me disabled . Only thing is these chip run got so at full load 100 percent in benchmarks mine drops to 4 6 sometimes but still in games it sits at 4.8
  13. my qtj1 hates running under 1.3 ish volts even at stock turbo of 4.6 ghz . that is what mine defaulted to when i installed it on my clevo / if i dropped it to 1/2 ish id get bsods and clock dropping so i just have it set to 1.328 it is at 4.8 all core and 5 ghz 1 core and works fine . these chips run hot . so will delid mine
  14. The QTJ1 has various flavors . The ones with the IHS tend to have better imcs then the bare ones but ... They need to be delidded otherwise they will hit 96 or so c when you hit 4.8 ghz . Realistically that's only when benchmarking but still that's pretty toasty . As far as memory they like single ranked dimms . I had this issue with some 3200 MHz team group modules . My clevo p870tm1 refused to boot with the ram . Wouldn't even downclock them lol so I have 3 8gb ddr4 2666 sticks in and it seems to work fine . Mine hits 5ghz single core and 4.8 all core they are not true comet lake cpus they are an in between . Coffee lake and comet lake . Kinda like xeon cascade lake refreshes This is mine a un tuned quick and dirty oc to see if it falls on its face . But it is pretty snappy also undervolt if you can . They got 1.45 volts
  15. ive read if you get the ones with the IHS that they have a better chance of using faster ram 🙂 but its cool my ram can drop to 2666 if need be . i just need to know if that bios is correct
  16. I'm about to pick up a qtj1 cpu bios is 1.07.16. ec version is 1.06 .01 this is the 9900ks 128gb bios wondering if I need anything else
  17. I know this is an older thread but I'm about to pick up a qtj1 cpu bios is 1.07.16. ec version is 1.06 .01 this is the 9900ks 128gb bios wondering if I need anything else
  18. When you installed the CPU did you reset the BIOS to defaults ? Then go into cou features and enable speed step . I think that should do it . I'm considering getting a qtj1 but I need to make sure I have the right bios as I got the clevo used and it was flashed I think 17.06 I think
  19. I have a very nice 3080 ti myself . Friend of mine bought himself a clevo p870tm1 with vapor chamber and then bought a supposed 3080 MXM from a seller on eBay . Card pulled 180 watts and overheated instantly because the vapor chamber doesn't have the proper mounting points . So he gave up on it and then sent it to me . I managed to figure out how to mount it and apply proper pressure with a combination of a copper shim( harvested from and old Asus rog laptop ) plenty of pads , bending the tabs up where you screw the vapor chamber to the chassis ( 2 points 1 left 1 right ) and a foam block pressing on the cooler and the underside chassis. The card is identified as a 3080 ti with both gpuz and cpuz as well as task manager . Had an extra resister soldered as well . So I'm assuming the seller probably gets a bunch of these cards from dead clevos , tongfangs ,firebats, or whoever and flips them . Anyway it's an impressive card that REQUIRES the use of both power bricks otherwise it power throttles lol temp are 30s idle and 80 plus full tilt with fans on auto
  20. Whats sad is i have the vapor chamber with the added cpu part to assist in cooling the cpu . i really wanted the one from aliexpress but now you cant get it LOL wont go into reason why . political .... but still the one with the included part for the cpu is doing very well. i just need to mod it so it can actually mount onto my 3080 ti mxm 180 watt
  21. It's so sad my Alienware 18 r1 viking died ;( lol I'm now rocking a p870tm1 but I miss my Alienware a bit . Nice to see the 3080 standard MXM cards work in these old beasts . If I get another viking or ranger I know what I'm doing also the MXM slots are limited to 115 watt unless you resister mod
  22. Fair enough I'll message him I hope he's not to cagey about what he did as cash is tight . ATM I have a foam block pressing again the inside of the chassis and the heatsink and the highest I'm getting now is 70s on hotspot and core
  23. My heatsink looks very similar to this but has the added mount for the CPU as well (4 Screw on top of CPU heatsink ) otherwise identical
  24. So I have the vapor chamber heatsink myself ( dual 1070 version I think ) what I did with mine was get a copper shims from an old Dell e6400 heatsink . Sanded it down flat then applied thermal paste on both sides . Then the two tabs ( one on the left and right that you screw down ) I bent them upward a bit to apply more pressure . Used all my pads and puddy and my 3080 ti ( apparently according to gpuz and CPU z ) is pretty cool . The hot spot does hit 92c but the core never exceed 80 ish . And the clocks are 1880mhz and pulls near 180 watt... It was modded by someone and a seller on eBay sold it . She's a spicy card . If I could see how developer modified the heatsink is appreciate it 🙂
