  1. Yep. MSI should go back to the old days and start with Lightning cards. And they shouldn't cost much more than their Suprim X models. Aka much cheaper option than Asus and Galax. There is nothing special with the PCB and the power components on Asus Strix OC cards. They are pretty vanilla as other flagship cards. Not even close to the HOF cards. But if you can get a HOF they shouldn't be much more expensive than the Strix OC. And you get more for around same amount money. Asus couldn't even add two 12VHPWR connector on their new Matrix 4090 flagship. Neither managed a nice feature as force max fans/power limit with a physical button on the GPU I/O shield. Just more bling, better bin and the fancy AIO with improved software/monitoring IC for (Telemetry). Almost as a jazzed up Strix OC but for more $$$$$. They all will still have the same problems. The bin quality is a lottery. And will be. Not what you really pay for. You pay the extra for the bling factor, name and somewhat better cooling. And a couple extra power phases you really don't need. I accept pay 300$ extra for a high end card. But it has to be the best of the best. Nothing more or nothing less. Best bin, best, cooling and best PCB.
  2. Btw. When we first have talked about Asus.... The usual daily damage. Posted 3 hours ago Asus 4090 OC + EKWB + ABP + Cablemod 180 Type A + Cablemod custom Cable
  3. When I talked about overbuilt. Asus GTX 970 Strix OC cooling Asus GTX 970 come with Single 8 pin. And the bigge bro Asus GTX 980 Strix OC use 8+6 pin Galax GTX 970 HOF cooling 970 HOF come with dual 8 pin and a hell lot better PCB and power delivery.
  4. More to come here bro @electrosoft And yep, try the crocs🙂 But do your daughter like black shoes? I'm quite sure they feel better on the feets in that nice color😆 Say hello to Papusan's new little baby... Galax GTX 970 HOF. This GTX 970 card use exactly same PCB, cooling and power delivery as the bigger bro GTX 980 HOF. The only difference is the GPU cores. Aka very overbuilt even for a 980. So I really like what I so far have seen from this 970. The card looks as in mint condition and the seller (young lady) used it for grafisk design. Here the big brother with the little cute sister. 2847g vs 1280g. If I have put on the crown on the 4090 HOF it would be close to 3000 gram. Or 2.34 times the weight of the 970 HOF. But the smaller Galax card is still very heavy for its class.
  5. Where is the pict lover @electrosoft? On summer vacation? Gues whats in the package bro @ryan ? And if you don't see it. I have bought brand new all black crocs😀 The sad part.... The damn rain is back and with all the holes in the crocs I will become very wet on my feets, HaHa Very good packed in. A 1000$ card couldn't be better packed in, HeHe
  6. Why AMD's Exclusive Starfield Partnership Has GeForce RTX Owners Freaking Out No need for new modern card if the stupids can keep up like this. I won't buy AMD for this 🙂
  7. Yep, that's also an viable option. But you have to pay 417.35 United States Dollar for the cheapest card here in the used market. But at least you get the Strix card that don't burn up, HaHa. The GPU market have been difficult the last few years. And from what I see it looks even worse now if you think about buying new cards. 4090 is the only choice as I see it. And I'm not keen on any Radeon card, so.... Maybe a damn cheap 1080Ti would still be fun card in 1080P 🙂 4060 = Overpriced for what you get. This is a 4050 tier card 4060Ti the same tragedy. 4070 is still all too expensive. Same for 4070Ti. 4080 is DOA card and way too expensive. Then the 4090. Have good value due the minimum price hike over previous gen and the huge performance uplift. So minimal point go for the 4000 series cards. Only the 4090 have some value. Then the higher end of the 3000 series cards. They are still all too expensive. Remember they are already + 2 years old. And I don't like AMD cards. Not much to go with if I look after the list, LOOL I think I went the right direction with the 4090 HOF and same time continue with my older sub 120$ cards. There is nothing in between for me. And limited options for those that want true 1080P and 1440P gaming for normal amount of money. But there is still some Stupids out there that can't see there is better options. So expect nvidia will still sell their 4050 at +300$
  8. Look at this.... Asus 4060 ROG Strix OC = 537.65 United States Dollar here home. Yep with the nice 25% Norwegian tax😬 And the cheapest of the 4060s is 427.30 United States Dollar and not so much better. Garbage is bad. But what can we say about overpriced Garbage? Double Garbage? You can get a 3070 for 324.90 United States Dollar in the used market here. And you get up to 4 years free warranty if the card was bought last year. I compared the 2 years old 3070 vs 4060 results from Techspot.com https://www.techspot.com/review/2701-nvidia-geforce-rtx-4060/ Why pay up to 65% more for the 4060 Strix OC over a used 3070? The 6800XT in the used market is still all too expensive. Same for the 6800. So thats not an option. Why does the new 4060 even need to exist? I really hope Nvidia will be screwed on this one.
  9. Whats wrong with Hothardware's tech editor? How is this even possible? A decent value? @Mr. Fox @electrosoftWhy is some tech editors so damn blind? And what you think the Gamers/consumers/average Joe will do after reading the review from their favorite tech site? Many will jump on this overpriced 4060 4050 as sweet candy. This is the closest you can come a paid shill. GeForce RTX 4060 Review Summary & Conclusion MSRP for new GeForce RTX 4060 cards starts at $299, which is about $30 lower than the RTX 3060's launch price and $50 below the RTX 2060's. It's also about $30 more than the recently-launched Radeon RX 7600. At its expected price point, the GeForce RTX 4060 represents a decent value, especially in light of its all-around NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Review: Affordable Cutting-Edge Gaming
  10. This is in reality a 4050 at $300. Perverse. But it won't melt any of the new or old power connectors. Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Review: $300 GPU techspot.com Nvidia Clown Themselves… Again! GeForce RTX 4060 Review. More Trash. A real slap in the face to the gamers. Don't buy it.
  11. Anus. Always Asus. Weird it had to be Asus? Or was it doomed to be so? Asus has become a real Nightmare for CableMod. But I expect they sell so many cards that they don't want stop selling adapters to that brand. And if they did, the sales for rest of the brands different 4090s would go to HELL as well. Will see if the CM reps will reply on my question in the latest burn down thread. Weird not many have asked for a meltdown statistic with custom CM 12VHPWR cables. They have it (outdated) for the adapers so why not for their custom cables? Edit. Got answer from CableMod. Nice Nvidia didn't go the more difficult route, HaHa Posted 6 hours ago Melted 180 degree adapter, also melted into my 4090 connector >.> Posted 1 hours ago Melted 4090 Strix 🔥🔥🔥
  12. When and if Microsoft going this way. MacOS will be the same. Whats left is Linux.
  13. With a bad/lower sales of 4000 series cards they will have a flood of them at end of summer/fall 2024. And people are more careful with their money. No loss for Nvidia continue with a small refresh of Ada chips until beginning of 2025. If people want graphics cards.... This is what we offer. People are still willing to pay premium for 3000 series cards, so.... Why not? And newer gen wafers wont be cheaper.... Only more expensive https://www.tomshardware.com/news/tsmc-expected-to-charge-25000usd-per-2nm-wafer Isn't this the box you got bro @Mr. Fox? TEST29 New reference for flexible high-end cases? be quiet! Dark Base Pro 901
  14. You may get one of them from $250-500. So I think about $750 for two with okish quality. No point in buying one that don't do a good job. I expect that for the cheapest. But have both the heat and the AC functionalty in one unit and you will save money after around 8 years. Maybe even before if the high prices on electricity continue. 750$ for lets say 4 weeks a year is still a lot money. And I won't get any use of it rest of the year.
  15. Thats still hot. But if you can keep temp below 24-25C inside with an AC unit it helps a lot. I feel the problems come if the indoor temp start passing 26-27C. If its above 30C inside I start to have some real problems. Now in the night I have 25C innside with the windows up and 20.5C outside. 25C inside is okish to sit in but more difficult if you try sleep in the nights. As it is now... Difficult to sleep well. Temp in the nights should be more like 20-22C then it would be easier to come in sleep. I may buy an heatpump for the fall/winter. This way I can have both the heat capacity in the winters (in combination with wood oven/oven as well have the aircondition funtionality the few weeks I need it in the summer. A heatpump isn't enough when the cold start... You need woodoven also. Middle Norway and further North and a heatpump ain't enough to heat up houses. They are only effecive from zero to 10 minus. But I really need that AC functionality now, HaHa It cost around $2500-2800 but I will save some money on the heat functionality in the winters. I mean it will offer 3.5 times more heat for same amount money for each KW/h. So after 8 years it may pay off. Same time save my life in the summer 🙂
  16. Finally below 30C in and out. No aircondition and the houses here home is built to keep the houses warm in the winter. This is too much for me. Wish I had AC now. And the temp will continue as this the coming days. Not the best with broken lungs.
  17. Welcome to Papsan’s world. A living hell 24/7. And sometimes you don’t want to live anymore. Only the family can keep you going on. Edit. Life don’t always treat all and everyone ecual.
  18. I didn’t see this. I’m sorry. Best luck my friend. Very best recovery from Norway. Hard to use a small phone
  19. Google Drøbak. The home place for Santa Clause. Also the place we Norwegian stopped Hitler from storming Norway.
  20. Yep, Equal stupid as this. @Reciever you have some works to do… . And learn Norwegian. Stupid is the new normAl
  21. Is it the correct English… Strapped in HOF ?😆 On the way to Papus plaza. Solgt = Sold more pict to the pict fan @electrosoft😁 This will be my second HOF. On vacation in ÅS South Norway. 25C and lots of sun. Fantastic weather. Not too hot or cold. We hired an apartment here down to celebrate my little daughter’s architecture graduate/master 🙂 If me and my wife is lucky we may have a chance to se our little daughter much more. She seeked a job after the graduation here in Trondheim. And her boyfriend said he will follow. Would be perfect for us old ones here in Papusans plaza if that happens. Getting all my sons and daughters near our house would be perfect. This is a nice way to be old. The whole family coming thigter together is fantastic. A nice end if this comes true.
  22. Yep, mine😊 @electrosoft looking forwards to see a real beauty. Newer doesn’t mean looking better. Only newer 🙂
  23. Congrats bro Fox. I continue with the same old stuff as usual. I enjoy old HW. It often gives me more than new and shiny. And 100$ cards can be more enjoyable than 10 of the mills newer 400$ cards. This HOF card should be reserved for me (reservert = reserved) if not the seller screw me and try sell it for more to others that was too late to the party. YEP, I ordered a small sister on the used market to have company with the big HOF brother. A couple of pict for bro @electrosoftThe crocks will come once I have this small beauty in my hands @ryan 🙂 3 fans card and I mean l have saved an XOC vbios and the Galax XOC tools for exactly this card. And not everyday I find it in the used market here home. I really like the HOF cards because they are very well built. They put a lot into the PCB. The force full fan functions is amazing idea (Older Clevo was also in front for this tech feature). The HOF, K|ngp|n and the Lightning have a special place in my heart due the finish is outstanding. Older the better. Todays new and modern it’s too much of the bling bling factor. I wish they learned from the past. Stop adding bling bling on all corners and up and down. Too much ofit and it becomes very ugly and tacky. 24. ASUS denies RMAs. Nice. And Asus is also in igorslab's spotlights today Posted 5 hours ago 180 adapter melted and warranty disappointment The Neverending Story: NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4090 and the 12VHPWR Connector - New Data from CableMod and Unanswered Questions igorslab.de The fact that Asus is represented disproportionately high here could also be due to the alignment and the opposing bending forces of the cable connections. Especially since the inverse socket does not have six ground connections as thermal buffers between tracks/shunts and the contact pins in the socket. One thing for sure... The custom angled adapters paired with this inverse socket design + the fragile small hook/latch doen't make it any better. Use Cables. Not custom angled adapters. If you need the angled adapters to be able to close the PC chassis door then buy a new chassis. Or cables with angled connectors. That simple.
