  1. And what is this? JonnyGuru say Corsair don't sell angled adapters.... Only Cables. But what is this below? https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/pc-components-accessories/cp-8920335/12vhpwr-gpu-power-bridge-cp-8920335
  2. Here's a new Joke for today😁😆😀 RTX 4060 Ti 16GB Marginally Slower than 8GB Model: MSI Testing MSI Insider Weekly conducted a live benchmarking event of an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB graphics card, where it is shown to be in fact slower than the RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB. This begins to explain why NVIDIA or its board partners weren't too keen on sampling the RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB for reviews. The performance delta between the 16 GB and 8 GB models is within 0.5%, but the 16 GB model is slightly behind the 8 GB in Cyberpunk 2077, F1 23, and Rainbow 6: Siege, all in Ultra (or equivalent settings). The performance is neck-and-neck in Fortnite and Hogwarts Legacy. The only test where the 16 GB variant is ahead is with CS:GO. Besides the memory size, the RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB has identical specs—core configuration, clock-speeds, power limits, to its 8 GB sibling. One possible explanation for the 16 GB performing slightly worse could be that the higher density 16 GB memory is imposing a slightly higher latency, or having a negligibly higher power draw, but these are all just theory-crafting on our part. The RTX 4060 Ti still has 225 W at its disposal. NVIDIA has proved its point that 16 GB makes no difference to the performance of the RTX 4060 Ti. It's now up to the board partners try to sell these cards at a whopping 25% higher price than the 8 GB model. Ideally, NVIDIA could have spruced up the 16 GB variant a little, by enabling all 18 TPCs on the AD106 (the RTX 4060 Ti enables 17); and if the AD106 supports GDDR6X, they should have dialed up memory speed to 21 Gbps. The MSI Insider video follows. @ryan Remember new is always better...... 😆
  3. Installed Samsung Magician then put in the new ssd. Magician tool picked up the drive and flashed the correct latest firmware. Then renamed the drive for later use. I usually put a 33% OP for my drives. But will do that for the new ssd after I have installed the OS on it. They will never be full. I rather buy a new than fill them totally up. I'm not an Samsung fanboy as it looks like in the screenshoot but I have used their ssd's as long I can remember. And I usually don't buy new ssd models right after release/launch. I let the guinea pig test them out a few months before I buy a specific model of ssd's. Most problems usually pop up within the first 6 months, so better let the others test them out the first months. The new one will be for the 7th 8th Win OS (Octuple OS setup) and games. It will be trial and errors what OS version that will be. And I have no hurry 🙂 The smartest you can do is to avoid jump directly on brand new released models. Major problems with the products usually pop up within 6 months. This apply all brands of ssd's. Also other type modern tech.
  4. Don't look you blind on the high bragging read/write sequential speed numbers. How often do you move around huge files? The whole day? No time for gaming...?😀 But yep, you don't go wrong with that ssd.
  5. I know the WD sn850x ssd's is good. Not so sure about Seagate drives. Their bad reputation due their HDDs is still something to have in mind. Yep, I have the habit go for what I know works well for me.
  6. I don't know. Near a year since they talked about it first time. Maybe they save it for the gen5 drives. But one thing for sure. Once installed in the black box it will be checked for a new firmware before I start use it.
  7. The old fart Papusan have shopped in crocks @electrosoft😀 Samsung 990 PRO 2TB. Around 225$ here home incl tax. 4TB WD Black SN850X would be around the double price so a bit outside my budget. Hence this choice. They was empy for a new benchtable. This one below is not too big or small (LxBxH): 110 x 60 x 75 cm). Perfect for me and my needs. Will see if I can order one tomorrow... 899,- = 90$ so not terrible bad. And I don't need an Asus or Corsair logo for double the price, so... And it's black and not in fancy red, blue or Orange with blinking bling bling. So, this it will be. https://www.power.no/gaming/gaming-moebler/gamingbord/dacota-gaming-strike-gamingbord-svart/p-1308344/
  8. Nice to see CM now are able to see the same as me 🙂 Why continue fiddle with adapters? Because same type custom 12WHPWR cables with angled adapters don't fit all types PSUs. Aka the custom angled adapters is a unisex and can be a huge cash cow.... Whats wrong with people? Pay premium for modern graphics and spend a few $$$ on this. Hmmm Yep, New is always better, LOOL
  9. Usually max out at -29. But 500 meter down in an valley near the small lake and the temps is -6C colder.
  10. This was middle July last year.... Not exactly sunbeams that came down from the sky😆
  11. Please send over some of the heat and dry over here bro Fox. 6C low. At least not zero and snow😬 Send the whole sun over here. Because you got the whole show and I nothing. Just glimpses. Btw. Nvidia offered a brand new graphics driver yesterday that was meant to fix the DPC latency bug. Well done. New has the be better. Always bro @ryan If this is correct and the outcome from the fix then expect newer drivers forwards will kill some of the OC fun. https://www.overclock.net/threads/official-nvidia-rtx-4090-owners-club.1800847/post-29214495 https://www.overclock.net/threads/official-nvidia-rtx-4090-owners-club.1800847/post-29214500 And AMD is no option bro @Mr. Fox 1:50 - Then you have his ultimate love for MSI here... Today's joke coming from Asus..... ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB OC graphics card Only €659.00 = $739.71 USD (included tax). Run and sign on. You in US can get it for dirt cheap close to $620. @electrosoft please post pict and bench results when you are able to suck up one, LOOL
  12. I expect JonnyGuru can come up with some numbers 🙂 He should be the one that can answer my humble question:) For @Rage Set Yep, old Papusan have always warned about the 12VHPWR angled adapters. 1+1 will always be 2. Not 3 as some think. Not many adaters popped up as melted right after the launch of first gen CM angled adapers. But now they are popping up here and there. Often 3 or 4 in a row. Yep, huge changes also for the new coming CM cables with the angled 12VHPWR connector.
  13. From todays tech world.... And as usual new has to be better. And probably more expensive.... Not everyday you get smart comments/good recommandations from PCWorld's editors... You can now buy Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB, but you probably shouldn’t With the same limited bus issues as the original, this more expensive card with a $500 price tag still isn't a very good value. The 16GB Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti is one of the most cynical graphics cards ever, and I'm kinda here for it 4060Ti worth it...? Hell nope. The crippled $500 mem bus disaster Nvidia never wanted to release..... NVIDIA launches GeForce RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB without review coverage And Intel continue milk the way they did with Skylake......... According to the report, Intel will increase clocks across the K-series SKUs by 200 MHz. 12900K>12900KS>13900K>13900KS>14900K>>>14900KS with a minor changes for the last milking (14th gen).. Intel 14th Gen Core K-series Specs Leaked And it's more from Intel... It's seems Intel try fix their own screw up from 12th, 13th and 14th Intel platform... Be prepered to trash your very expensive cooler (150-225$) in the trash-bin. EK know how to do it. Proprietary WB cooler design the way Mr. Azor from Dell Alienware advocated for. Screw you, you stupid consumers. You get what you deserve. In thit case, it will be the second time in four years that Intel makes a change that requires cooler adjustments. Prior to that, the mounting devices have only been changed a few times and at intervals of significantly more years. The problem can be remedied with special mounting frames and the specifications touch on the subject, but do not provide concrete guidelines for radiator manufacturers to follow. A much more concrete change is visible, however, in terms of the maximum limit for dynamic pressure, which sees an increase from 489.5 N to 923 N. This means a requirement for higher pressure from the processor cooler and with such a large difference, the risk is that existing coolers cannot currently be mounted adequately. Since the fit is otherwise the same, new mounting devices can be a sufficient solution to the problem, to be able to reuse existing coolers on the market. According to Igor's Lab, Intel has already sent out information to cooler manufacturers, so that they can prepare for the imminent launch. Intel's next processor socket requires new heatsink mounting hardware Processors today 15:41 With the Core 15000 "Arrow Lake", the new socket LGA 1851 is relevant. On the menu is PCI Express 5.0 for storage and potentially new mounts for coolers. Edit.... The new membership fellowship are boomin, LOOL Melted Adapter 4090 / Blackscreens / Connection problems monitor / no GPU found
  14. One of my favorite bands in my younger years. I’m very sorry I never saw them live:(
  15. Not what I remember. I usually listening on much older music 🙂 But will ask my son. He is more modern, LOOL
  16. CableMod didn't dare any longer sell their angled adapters. The fallback would be too big. If you want to be their guinea pig again, you'll get $39.90/39.90€ store credit for your old CM adapter. This way you can try their new angled adapter v1.1 when it launch 6-8 weeks from now. Up to you now @Mr. Fox @electrosoft if you want to really try out the org adapter the last time until the new adapters is out in the store😁 Yep, a huge chance to play the Nvidia silicon lottery again. Isn't that nice?🙃 Posted by u/CableMod_Matt Angled Adapter Updates and Early Adopter Program To that end, we are introducing the following Early Adopter program to all of our angled adapter customers. Customers who purchased an angled adapter from us will receive a $39.90/39.90€ store credit on our Global / EU / US Stores, which can be used towards the following products:
  17. I haven't checked. Not sure the info will be fully correct in software. The best would probably be measure each of the two 12VHPWR cables under load. I would love have the Galax 1000w vbios and their XOC tool for easy voltage control but I will avoid anything that smells CableMod's connectors😁 Cable or angled adapter... They still use same in-house 2-dimple terminals. Or 50% less dimples than the Nvidia pigtail adapter. Is less more or less @ryan?😬
  18. The Liquid X wasn't as good as the HOF. I returned it due trash vram. The HOF can do up to up to 3240 depending on benchmarks. But usually hower around 3090-3130 and 1525MHz for vram (or +1700 in MSI Afterburner). Depending on temps. A GPU waterblock in the custom loop would probably give two bin higher clocks. From what I know... Only a few selected have the 1000w vbios and the Galax NVVDD Tool for RTX 4090. The elite/choosen one get them via best friends or directly from Galax. I still try look after it. Regarding the dual 16 pin connector. It helps a lot to avoid the melt hell as you can see below. The load/current will be balanced between two connectors and if and when I get the XOC tool and vbios I expect less chance for melted connectors with power consumption above 700W🙂 Posted by 31 minutes ago Another 4090 down :/ please help Yep, not the club I want to be in😆
  19. Yep, they are still there. You can see it from the cups & medals chart on hwbot 🙂 https://hwbot.org/team/premamod/ Bro @ryan Have fun (hobby) don't need cost much....
  20. Enjoy. Congrats with the 13700K @Mr. Fox 🙂 I have the Zotac 980 Ti Amp. Extreme. A damn good card, but I have a Galax 980Ti HOF I'm keen get on the used market (found one here home). Not sure it will OC better than what I already have but I like the HOF cards. And I'm a collector on older cards. So why not? 🙂 $150 but I'm sure I can sell it back in the used market for the same or more. Btw... How can you compete with the chosen one...? Free top binned HW, custom XOC firmware, custom made XOC tools and all type help and support from the product developers, their engineers and team members from the brand you get the free HW from. Yep, how can you compete under these conditions bro Fox? Yet another melted adapter post (180-degree) And yep... I won't jump on this $40 nightmare on the used market, LOOL
  21. Not sure what's better... cholera or pest. At least you have an normal summer. Now it's getting colder. The cold North will be even colder. Nice with summer an a warming sun. Can't beat 12C and wind. And end of Aug and the weather will be colder for every new day. - Arctic air blows down to southern Norway. The cool air will bring lower temperatures than it usually is in July. This applies to the whole country, but especially here in the south, Walløe tells Dagbladet. - It will be quite windy, but with a good chance of over 20 degrees tomorrow. At the start of the week it will start to drop to around 12 degrees. Or 53.6°F.
  22. As etc this one. People buy a brand new launched ATX 3.0 PSU with the now EOL 12VHPWR power connector... Yep, the innovative two colored 12VHPWR connector is nice to have but now EOL. Damn happy I follow my own head/mind and newer jumped on the ATX 3.0 hype train.... The MAG GL Series is compact, feature-packed, and ready for the future https://www.tweaktown.com/articles/10475/power-all-your-gaming-needs-with-msis-atx-and-pcie-range-of-psus/index.html Having a broad understanding of different components and what they bring is key. In the case of power supplies, the good news is that MSI's new MAG GL Series, MEG Ai1300P, and MPG A1000G are ATX 3.0 compatible and PCIe 5.0 ready and deliver when it comes to features, build quality, and future-proofing. What is future-proof with an EOL power connector? Here's yet another waste of money. You'll only have one single 8-pin connector available... From an 1200W PSU. Swap over to AMD Radeon graphics cards and you're screwed. Nice. FSP Hydro PTM X Pro 1200W Platinum Review https://www.kitguru.net/components/power-supplies/zardon/fsp-hydro-ptm-x-pro-1200w-platinum-review/3/ Where is AMD into this? Don't they see that the PSU Manufacturers/vendors remove options for the consumers to own and buy AMD graphics hardware? And new is better. Always. Disgusting? I replaced it with a X570 Taichi Razor Edition and sli was restored and working OK. I then upgraded the BIOS to the latest version and sli would no longer work.......
  23. Bro @electrosoft You don't want be one of those cool kids?😁 I expect you'll never ever use that new angled adapter. But wouldn't it be nice be really cool?😆 Guess I’m one of the cool kids now 🥲🥲🥲(TUF 4090) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some of you may remember Razer's engineers put the vbios chips for their first gen Razerbooks below the heatpipes? The vbios chips cooked to death. Maybe Asus hired those engineers from Razer? Or is this the new normal for new tech? ASUS releases statement on ROG Ally SD card reader problems
