  1. And this is from an older post I made. Even Jayz was into this now. The adapters is a worse product than a cable with vanilla/angled 12VHPWR connector. I stand with what I have said. Avoid the angled adapter @electrosoft ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TechPowerUp NVCleanstall 1.16.0 relased June 19, 2023
  2. I have alredy mentioned this in older posts... We will get new stupid ideas how to fix a flawed connector design. I would be angry if all AIC partners start go with simiar or more idiotic design solutions with the same trashy connector. PRESS RELEASE (PR) Inno3D introduces GeForce RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 graphics cards with hidden power cables
  3. The connctor is good enough. The problem is the small flimsy hook/latch. This connector should have been 40% bigger and with a much better locking mecanism. Even a better hook/latch on current connector would help on the problem. The smoke and fire will continue until this connctor get a re-design. And this won't happen before next gen cards is out at end of 2024. All we can hope for.... Class action against Nvidia or the governments force them to make a re-call of all cards with this connctor. But as you know... This new small connctor is now also on the new modern ATX 3.0 PSUs. This will be a delicate mess forwards. If we see fire with the new ATX 3.0 PSUs I think we will see a change faster than you think.
  4. What have happened to EVGA? They now offer their first gen ATX 3.0 PSU models and only 3 years warranty. Don't they trust their products anymore? A measly 3 years warranty only means they have went cheap on some of the components. Not what I expected when they said they should put full focus on their remaining products after they jumped of the ship as AIC partner for nvidia graphics cards. This is disgusting!!! @electrosoft @Mr. Fox You can get cheaper PSUs from Corsair that offer same 80+ Gold, with a TEN YEAR warranty. If this is the direction EVGA want to go forwards they're digging their own grave. Who want to put their trust on new PSU the manufacurer only will give 3 years warranty? Why? And 200$ is still not cheap. It will be more like $265 here home if not closer to $275. EVGA Introduces SuperNOVA 1000G/850G XC PSU Series PRESS RELEASE Friday, 19:48 Introducing the EVGA SuperNOVA 1000G/850G XC Series - The first ATX 3.0 compliant and PCIe Gen 5.0-ready power supply series from EVGA. With a half-bridge LLC resonant controller, DC-DC converter, and 100% Japanese capacitors, the EVGA SuperNOVA 1000G and 850G XC gives the power you need for a modern gaming system. ATX 3.0 Compliant & PCIe 5.0 Ready Designed to support current and future standards, the EVGA SuperNOVA XC series is fully-compliant with ATX12V V3.0 and PCIe Gen 5.0 standards. This means you can use these power supplies with your current system or the system you want to build. More to the point, these power supplies are built to respond significantly faster to transient spikes, ensuring your card and system stay safe and fully powered at all times. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Asus released ROG MAXIMUS Z690 APEX BIOS 2403 Version 2403 - 2023/06/15 1. Improve system performance. 2. Improve memory compatibility. “Before BIOS update, please download Intel ME update tool from ASUS support site, and update ME firmware to Version 16.1.25.2020 to ensure optimized system settings.” Before running the USB BIOS Flashback tool, please rename the BIOS file (MZ690A.CAP) using BIOSRenamer." Weird they didn't added... Improve system stability and compatibility for the next-gen processors as they did for the Z790 boards when they first released a new bios. But I expect the trashy Z690 Asus boards need more testing.
  5. Yep, the new modern MSI ATX 3.0 PSUs is here with the yellow PCIe 16 pin connector. The most powerful model is the 850W. Can only be used with newer nvidia graphics cards due wimpy 4x 8pin connectors. Maybe AMD should subsidize the PSU manufacurers with a few $$$ so they could make PSUs that also will support AMD graphics cards? What with you bro @ryan?😆 https://www.msi.com/Power-Supply/MAG-A850GL-PCIE5/Gallery What is a day without more smoke and fire?😃 Gone is the days we only could see the 12VHPWR cables burn up. With the angled CM adapers we also see the GPU connector on the PCB get destroyed at the same time. So both damaged cable and GPU. Worst of both worlds. Posted 5 hours ago Cablemod 90 degree adapter Melted. ASUS TUF 4090. Yep, I don't like this flimsy connector setup. A slight move on the cables and the angled adaper will slowly slideits way out from the GPU connector. 1-1.5mm out from the socket is enough to start a fire. A real cable is much prefered over this Leaning Tower of Pisa. Signal loss.. And the new one will work perfectly fine the next 5 years? Russian roulette CableMod need to sell +140 angled adapters every day to pay the screwed for their 4090s. This if only one of the 4090s burn up every day. But I expect CableMod save some money if the screwed want their binned cards back from the repair or that the retail shops accept returns.
  6. Maybe others have different opinion on this but I have always prefered the old classic GPU mount. Fancy and new ways to try invent the wheel often fails. s Be aware of Asus cancer..... They just can't stop destroy own products. It's in their nature. ASUS ROG Ally Gets Bugfixes But Loses Performance With Latest 319 BIOS If you're a usual user of a consumer device like the ROG Ally, when an update comes down, you install it. Certainly the device itself advises you to do so. However, if you already have a ROG Ally and are enjoying the machine's high performance, don't update to BIOS version 319 through the MyASUS app. Of course, if you bought a ROG Ally over the Steam Deck, it's probably for the promise of superior performance. With that in mind, let's get you back to the maximum speed offered by the device. That means downgrading to the 317 firmware, which is possible, but ASUS doesn't make it easy—you can't do it in Windows. And all this just happens because of cost cuttings. The quality have been shrinking the last couple of years.
  7. Got the new home central. As expected, nothing have changed. Same problem. Called up support again and they have sent the case over to the special tech department. 3 pc, 2 phones, 3 different browsers , 4 different OS tested. Same behaviour. New home central and only VPN and the phones own internet work with notebooktalk.net Todays word as to be unappealing. This is my honest feeling about what you now will see... ZOTAC launches 38 cm long GeForce RTX 4090 PGF graphics card - VideoCardz.com Whats the point make it bigger if the flagship can't have Nvidias own specs? And this new model looks more like a shoe. So Zotac is in the boat and shoe business now, LOOL @electrosoftwhat will this be? Trash-shoe?😬 The TDP going up to 525W and way below Nvidia's 600W TDP for the FE cards. Yep, times have changed. The AIC partner cards can't even offer the same minimum as Nvidia themself for their best high end flagship cards. And yes, more fancy bling bling than the previous Zotac 4090 flagship card. A huge nope from me. More bling, same 24+4 phase VRM design, similar design in short it come with almost no extra added value. Just a new model so they can charge even more for. At least they don't use Gigabytes flawed PCB design with this huge card (PCB crack gate). Maybe better than nothing but nothing to to scream hurrayyy for. No thanks! Then we have this. I have already mentioned this in my older post. ATX 3.0 PSUs offer nothing. Only 4 times bigger risk for failure if you have a 4090 with dual 12VHPWR connector. Or double the risk for for fire for those with 4090 cards with single 12VHPWR connectors. Nice with new standard. RTX 4090 12vhpwr cable burned on PSU side?
  8. Yep, I really don't see the need for an VPN. I hate use not absolutely necessary software. But I installed it only to troubleshoot. If you mean uninstall after my testing, then try access the forum with the internet the normal way... Nope. But will do. Not sure what outcome I will get from this because 3 of my machines have the same problem. A really weird problem. Started a couple of days before... Nothing have been changed on my part before this started happening. We'll see when the new box come 🙂 If I need a VPN I need to find a good one for free. I won't pay for software I rarely will use.
  9. I can’t see anything wrong. Both vpn and internet from the phone works great. And same behavior on 3 different machines. I have also reset router/home central. Nothing different. A new home central is on the way. I have seen something similar before. The previous internet vendor blocked tomshardware website. I called them and the website worked afterward. I mean it’s directly from local. I just downloaded a vpn app and did no changes in the setup. Just plug and play to check if that worked. Worked equal well as with my phone internet. Btw. What’s the best paid and free vpn?
  10. I need two bro Custom. I have the HOF. So double chance for fire if CM have real QC problems with those new angled adapters😅 Edit. @RecieverVPN works. And also my ISP vendor support tested the same notebooktalk website on their own machines. They got access to the forum page but not me with the same IPS vendor/host. Yep, turning of VPN and the access to the forum don't work.
  11. In the beginning I could connect to the website and read new posts. Also the notification worked. But I wanted reply on my older posts a couple of pages back. Went to my older post and that page started loading and then crashed into nothing. Timing out. Now I can’t even connect to this forum at all with my ordinary fiber internet. Only with my phone or connecting my pc to the phones own IPS.
  12. I use a lot different drivers depending on all the different cards I have. So no favorite. And some drivers work better with some benchmarks while other benchmarks not get as good results with same drivers. I also use multi-boot OS setup. All different OS with their + and minuses. I haven’t 3000 series cards but maybe try out 531.18 maybe that one works. I mean I got a ok result with this one on my sons 3070. But use NvCleanstall for fast change of drivers. New bloat free driver install is done within 2 min with this tool. And this tool can do the whole process from downloading the drivers and then install it. @Mr. FoxI have had problems connecting to this forum the last two days. It times out. Same problems on 3 different pc’s. I can only access this forum on my pc’s with my phones own internet connection. Aka other IPS. Got in contact with the internet vendor. They will send out a new home central. Only problem with notebooktalk.net website. Connect to other websites isn’t a problem@Reciever
  13. Even with Silent bios. Cable Mod 90° Adapter burned on my 4090 Suprim X after just 2 weeks When stupid is the new normal... If the ATX 3.0 PSUs is so damn more thrustworthy... Then why is this happening, HaHa No smoke with the old and thrusty, LOOL https://hwbot.org/submission/5293898_papusan_3dmark06_radeon_hd_7970_63475_marks ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yep, avoid their adapters..... The customer.... But has there been any issues with the regular modflex 12vhpwr 16 to 16 cable? The CableMod reps... We haven't seen any issues with those cables. Edit. New one. CableMod reps have full time works with offering support on reddit😎 2 hours ago 4090 STRIX OC Burnt...
  14. Is this meant as a Joke @Mr. Fox? The first version of Gigabyte 4090 WINDFORCE 24G come with Vapor Chamber while the refreshed 4090 WINDFORCE 24G V2 come with a thin copper plate. Less cooling capacity and cheaper cooing. Is new always better or only Newer? And I expect you'll still have to pay the same price for the new cut down refresh. I wonder how it feels being scammed. https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N4090WF3-24GD#kf (the orginal) https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N4090WF3V2-24GD#kf (the refresh)
  15. As expected. Try give the GPU more headroom with lowering CPU clocks and TDP. Back to smoke and fire....... User errors and defective adapter is an awful mix. And each by their own, is bad enough. Posted by u/CableMod - Some Perspective on Faulty adapters by CableMod Upon analysis, the majority of failures were due to the adapters not being fully inserted into the GPU, while other cases were indeed due to defective adapters. We cannot deny that things can go wrong during the manufacturing process - no company can guarantee a 0% failure rate. However, what we can do is help our users when such things occur. Some Perspective on Faulty Adapters
  16. If your score is low in 3DM Speed Way then I expect you see similar behaviour in Port Royal as well.
  17. Isn't it nice? Remove 1/6 of the cooler.... Who will gain from this? Will the customers now finally get cheaper cards from Gigabyte? Is less more? And does this means Gigabyte go away from their cracking feature? Chinese graphics card maker Zephyrus introduces the first GeForce RTX graphics with a pink PCB. NEWS Gigabyte quietly launches GeForce RTX 4090 with “hidden” 12VHPWR power connector And what with this? Would you love that more of Nvidia (AIC) partners go with pink versions of their graphics cards? What with pastel light blue? Or pastel puke green PCB? Doesn't the future for tomorrows new tech looks damn bright? The future is now, Chinese company releases first graphics card with a pink PCB
  18. What is a day without smoke? Is it tempting bro @electrosoft ? I mean put in your new replacement CM adaper. I expect you know what to do if the Gpu fans suddenly ramping up without a reason. 41 minutes ago 4090 using 120deg adapter: burnt connector
  19. Our old good friend dspboys. Later temp00876. Here @sweepersc
  20. I don’t think it will help the Ryzen processors. But try with only 8 or less cores and see if the graphics score increase.
  21. Newer faster GPUs don't scale as well in performance on lower resolutions (benchmarks). Probably also in games.
  22. Because the cpu run with less cores. You loose graphics score and total score with more cores running. For best total score you nneed disable a few baby cores on 13900K. And for higer graphics scores you have to disable even more cores but this will hamper the total score. Welcome to todays modern tech world.
  23. The best of both worlds. Proper designed PCB and dual 12VHPWR connectors(less smoke&fire and less broken PCBs). From today. Expect more similar videos forwards with spotlight on Gigabyte and cracked PCBs. Gigabut bro @Mr. Fox?
  24. I expected so. And bro Fox is spot on. And the Intel chipset driver isn't an real driver. If everything is ok and no yellow exclamation mark is shown in Device Manager then you really don't need to do anything. Loads of people got bricked machines (no post and they had to re-install the OS) after ugrading to this driver.
