Yup, the older Raptor lake looks like a better value all over... And on top you get 5 years warranty. Can't beat that🤩 Just oc your chips with maximum voltage to your heart's content and you'll get all your money back (full refund) when something better is out. The Intel Core i9-14900K currently costs around $430-$440 US which is a strong price for a chip that has been plagued with issues recent fixes from the blue team might once again position it as a strong chip but you are sacrificing a lot of power and thermal efficiency. The 14900K is slower but in the end, it's a decent mix of high-end productivity and gaming performance. The Core Ultra 9 285K doesn't seem to be as good of a choice. https://wccftech.com/review/amd-ryzen-7-9800x3d-3d-v-cache-cpu-review/9/ -

Hmmm.... Maybe not the overclocker people hoped for? Why the automatic decrease of voltage once you try get more out from the chips yet the cpu is still within max temp threshold? This is bad behaviour from the board partner. Also the reviewer could have contributed to this overclocking mess. AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D in review: Overclocking, RAM-OC and Turbo Mode Interesting: At 5.4 instead of 5.2 GHz, the result in Cinebench was four percent better, analogous to the clock speed increase, but the power consumption did not increase. The Asus motherboard (ROG X870E Crosshair Hero) may have had a hand in this by lowering the operating voltage when overclocking. -

Then we have AMD and with F. Azor so no more higher end Radeon cards. In short... Nvidia have no reson to use their fat die for an 5090Ti for only gamer graphics cards. Or maybe for AI graphics for prosumers? Yup, Nvidia could do that if the MSRP is put correct for an slight cut down Ti card. Edit. Exactly where Intel is right now. In the utter bottom of the chart. Can't be any better than this (sarcasm). -

Isn't it amusing? Offer useless features for gaming/Oc boards that will cripple the GPU performance. With AMDs new X3D v-cashe chips.... Be you sure Intel will suffer hard from their stupid move to the new MOBILE Core Ultra Architecture that destroyed gaming improvement over previous gen. Intel will be hit hard for their new Core Ultra gaming trash. See.... If you take that out, the 9800X3D runs a whopping 30 percent faster than Intel’s biggest dog. It’s 45 percent faster than the 285K in Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing off. Ryzen 7 9800X3D review: AMD’s new gaming titan obliterates Intel’s best hybrid mess. Yup, but Intel's new Core Ultra is only very good in Cinebench. +80% of 2D benchmarks on hwbot just show regression vs older Raptor Lake. And not to forget 3D benches. Totally useless if you want to compete. Then you have gaming... Beaten by Ryzan by 30%. Can't be any worse than this. And Intel will pay for this misstake. Be you sure. Have to wait until Nova/Panther Lake is out late next year is all too long wait. Then the damage is already done. Intel need something much better within the spring next year. The damage will increase for every new week forwards. Overclocking the power efficient new E-cores to make it perform slight better is the engineers idiot Cpu design. The whole concept with re-introduced max power efficiency at the cost of better performance in all tasks is just too dumb. -

Probably not what you want for your coming AMD adventure/failure😁 ... But it's cheap and come with two DIMM slots. Just sad it's only for the Asia region for now. Tech manufacturers prefer have focus on etc China that have 1/3 of the tech market. Pay willingness for trash is quite common. Sapphire launches Pulse B650M motherboard with just two DIMM slots This motherboard features a unique two-DIMM slot configuration. Btw. Hwbot's new changes.... HWBOT NEW GUI FEEDBACK THREAD -

I'm sure Intel is happy camper deliver their own in-house made Raptor Lake chips for gaming-books with 5000 series graphics cards. More profitable than sell the more expensive tiles from TSMC. Intel vs. TSMC: Why economic factors, not tech, are at the heart of America's chip struggle Can Intel and Samsung survive without government support in the foundry race? Imagine how much better 15th gen processors have been with an real refresh of Raptor Lake Refresh with those improved baby cores for Arrow lake. A refresh of an refresh with better gaming performance and as well better multi core performance from faster E-cores. Not as power efficient but a much better choice than the Core Ultra fiasco. This could have been an a bigger win for Intel. -

It seems Arrow Lake Mobile won't be any better than the new released and flopped Core Ultra desktop chips. Better power efficiency who is Intel's main goal and target. Oh'well, that's as expected, but people get something brand new so maybe they are still happy with what they get. Intel Core Ultra 9 285H makes Geekbench debut with 16-core CPU and severe throttling While the performance will undoubtedly be better at launch, the Core Ultra 9 285H doesn't seem like that much of an improvement over Meteor Lake. Hopefully, it compensated by an increase in power efficiency, something that has been on Intel's crosshairs since Lunar Lake launched earlier this year. Intel has a laptop problem: its Core Ultra 9 285H is half as fast as the PC 285K Intel keeps its promise of bringing a new generation of processors every year, offering a series of CPU models that should improve on the previous ones. Sometimes the improvement is minimal and not even worth it if it costs more,... -

That one cost close to 1/3 of an Core Ultra 9 285K and perform about equal in games. On top.... Intel pay more for TSMC silicon and it is still worse than the cheapest you get from AMD. Hmmm. Nothing can save Arrow lake from an utter flop. In short... Intel have nothing for gaming outside their old soon EOL in-house made Raptor lake chips. Even these are shorter in the tooths now. No point in buying a brand new or the old Intel platform for tomorrow's gaming. So Intel offer nothing for the gamers. Only loads of power efficient Baby cores and castrated P-cores (no HT). But the new tile mess from Intel isn't bad in everything for gaming...🥴 Intel Core Ultra 9 285K internal graphics can play Battlefield 2 at an average of 120+ FPS at 1080p medium and low quality. Here's more from today's tech trend.... I've tested Asus' new Turbo Game Mode for AMD CPUs and my verdict is simple: Don't use it -

Exactly the way I saw it from day one. Checked the numbers and reviews the next two days and it looked more and more awful. Lower performance in games vs its predecessor was just the icing on the cake. Not that I play much games but an upgrade should be better than two years old chips it is meant to replace. The chips just doesn't cut it. Worse for +80% of benchmarks that counts. Oh'well, will see how long it takes before Intel jump out with an (8 core) 3D v-cashe chips for gamers. Or if Intel will put all the eggs into the coming power efficient non K chips over the New year for average pc users/office machines. Because less and less gamers (and performance enthusiast) will go with the unlocked K sku of Core Ultra. -

What you have ended up with is only benching Cinebench and mem tests as Aida64. Not useful for etc 3D benching. Not sure about other 2D benches, but I mean Core Ultra aka Arrow lake also offer low value there as well. But for productivity that's another matter. Or if you want functional NVMe 5 drive without castrating the GPU. For me... Offer Zero value. -

Sad seeing Microsoft put all resources on the wrong spot. They should rather try fix own mess. The update meant to rescue Windows 11 24H2 fails to install, crashes Patch KB5044384 was supposed to solve numerous problems in Windows 11 24H2, but it's becoming a source of errors itself.

LOOL. Intel have created a monster chips😁 The whole value of this gen chips is the baby cores, HaHa Intel going backwards into the future. They are going the Jokebook route for desktops. All is about power efficiency and AI forwards.... Why not just solder the Cpu package on the desktop motherboards as they do with laptops? The only difference bethween Jokebook chips and those for desktops is the better unlocked firmware you get in desktop motherboards. Intel don't even have to remove overclocking features for chips used in Jokebooks. Just let their board partners lock everything in bios. A signing key is god's saviour. Can't be easier than this. -

I was ready to click the purchase button (Z890 Apex and the 9 285K). But as usual I check everywhere and everything before I buy. All warning lights flashed red in every review. Almost as I was blinded. Nope. Not for me this time. Intel screwed up. Their own faulth that They don't want my hard earned money. -

Intel needed a win. And that become Cinebench. But forgot the main target for Core Ultra... The gamers. The non K versions for office etc will come out early next year. They really created a disaster with this new core design. Can't be because of the goal was reducing Cpu temps for the P-cores. Because Intel increased Max Operating Temperature to 105 °C for this gen chips. Intel Core Ultra 9 285K performs better in games with fewer active cores: almost 8% improvement in Cyberpunk 2077 Since the presentation of Arrow Lake-S as an architecture and after knowing many of its ins and outs, later after the reviews, we speculated that the RingBus and access to the IMC from the Tile SoC were a determining problem in the... And it seems Intel go all in for Chiplet design forwards... This is the best way to cut costs. Because they don't know how the Cpu arcitecture has to be. And all the delays (as in the old days) push Intel to make unfinished processors. https://elchapuzasinformatico.com/2024/10/intel-panther-lake-imc-compute-tile-nova-lake-en-soc/ Then we have Microsoft that only care about ARM for their new and next gen Jokebooks. I have already said this before in older posts... They try fix power plan settings to make their own trash to perform correct for power savings/power efficiency. And forget power settings for Intel and AMD x86 chips. Same with new Windows versions/updates? Here's some food for thoughts. Or just the normal Microsoft continue screw up? There's something that smells bad. Honestly, in several years of benches, tests and releases, this is the first time we've seen processor launches so disrupted. This is also why we decided to postpone our " gaming " tests on Arrow Lake. We're not pro-Intel, but there are far too many inconsistencies in the results we have. What's really going on between Microsoft and the other PC players? Right now, we don't know: but objectively, something is wrong. Microsoft clearly has a hidden agenda from my point of view. Within this agenda, the arrival of a "home" ARM chip is undoubtedly a step. The hype on Qualcomm , but also some disruptions on the market in recent months are to be put into perspective with all this. Is Microsoft trying to hamper AMD and INTEL in PCs?
