And it will be even more expensive. And what will happen when Trump also push tax tariffs over on the next location for HW manufacturers factories? China ain't the only place on the globe getting nice tax gifts from Trump. EU, in short all places get same treatments. Same will happen all over also in Asia countries where they moved away from China. Even Taiwan risk 100% tax tariffs. Higher prices is doomed to stay forwards. And that before the scalper taxes come on top. Asus anticipates price increases as it shifts production from China And congrats bro on the 5090 ๐ Very few contries get same treatment from Nvidia. US may get closer to what Nviidia will offer in China. Aka cards people can buy. It seems Nvidia have a lot 5090 FE cards to offer. I wonder how many chips nvidia keep for themself for the prioritized queue. Why bother with their own AIB partners ? LOOL... Can't say the same for Win 11๐ New is always better. And AMD want you to think so... @Mr. Fox AMD is the Nvidia in the processor world. Low competition due Intel's failure with Core Ultra means AMD will charge price premium for the 3D v-cashe chips. Same as Nvidia do with their fake frame feature package. Another AMD pricing disaster. GTX 1080Ti - 3rd place 3DMark Sky Diver๐ https://hwbot.org/benchmarks/3dmark_-_sky_diver/submissions/5804014?recalculate=true -

Almost Norwegian prices. So it could be worse. If Trump add another 10% you will get real Norwegian prices in US. Who'm could imagine that. Egg prices in US is already on Norwegian level. And it will be worse. Years forwards. Same as here in Norway. First got the higher price level... It will stay. Same as for graphics cards. And tech companies that buy overpriced AI parts from Nvidia want their spent money back. Better the gamers got the silicon. Then we would avoided this trash from Redmond... Giant, AI ads are coming to Windows Copilot. Thanks, Microsoft Microsoft Advertising has shown off new ad formats that insert massive ads right into Copilot, alongside pilot programs to allow brands to create their own AI agents to sell you stuff. And here is one more nail in the Intel as gaming focuses brand... All they have is the single core crown (the main reason they removed HT for all their competing chips). Intel only own their own brand name now. They can't even make own chips. AMD added easly more gaming performance with their new flagship processors. No more need for the X branded Ryzen processors if you go with their X3D chips. It perform equal in all multi core workflow but perform even better in gaming. And Intel continue swimming backwards in a pool of baby cores meant for smartphones baked into their (gaming) flagship desktop processors. Of course phone/tablet processors don't support AVX512 as the real desktop cpu's does. Yup, Intel continue digging their own grave if they continue with their idiotic processor design. E-cores need to be removed...And HT need to come back. AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D Review: Stunning gaming performance meets top-tier productivity -

And buy from a PSU brand that offer (are able to sell) original 8 pin to 12V-2x6 (12VHPWR) cables. MSI won't help you out here. You are stuck with what you bought. Vote with your wallet. LOL -

AMD know how to fix flawed thermal design... AMD has reportedly modified the TjMax of SK Hynix's GDDR6 for the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070: from 85ยบ C as a sustained value to 108ยบ C as a limit -

Yet another (US) tech company that will do everything to enter the Chinese market. From before we have huge US companies as Microsoft, Nvidia and AMD. + many other tech companies. This Chinese market is very important, because it creating shortage that make their overpriced products even more expensive all over the world. So double win. Consumers lose. And feedom, democracy and free speech is in decline due greedy big tech companies... Seen here. Millions of user data in exchange for access in China Meta is said to have not shied away from setting up a censorship system to expand its activities in China. According to the report, her complaint documents that the social media giant was so desperate to enter the lucrative Chinese market that it wanted to enable the government there to monitor all social media content in the country and suppress dissenting opinions. -

Fun facts. Asus don't have any prices for the non OC version on their store. That make them able to grab $10-15 USD more for the Astral SKUs. Hmm. That is unlikely. They added close to $300 premium for the air cooled version. Why add only $1 USD now for the LC? The LC version should be closer to $3799. Whats wrong with Asus when they chicken out on the LC ? -
*Official Benchmark Thread* - Post it here or it didn't happen :D
Papusan replied to Mr. Fox's topic in Desktop Hardware
Hmmm. Asus added only $1 wimpy USD for the Astral OC LC sku. But increased the prices for the Air version from $3079.99 up to $3359,99. Why? To make the prices more equal for both the Astral OC SKUs? Or maybe they mean $3409 is close to max they can charge for any 5090 now? Edit. Better say.... More people buy the air cooled version... Hence that SKU got the massive price increase. -

That PSU have 6x 8 pin connectors on the PSU panel. Slight better than the new normal with 5x8pin or less. You probably need to use one of the daisy chained 8 pin cables with the new "normal" PSUs if going with the better custom Radeon or older Nvidia GPUs. Not ideal but it's what it is. Modern times where the PSU manufacturers cut costs to implement the 12+4 pin disaster. -

Nope. This below has to be the magic with that PSU. The 8 pin to 12V-2x6 cable๐ A lot better solution than offering two native 12V-2x6 connectors on the PSU panel. More PSU manufacturers should offer the same. I hope you find one in the package. -

They would grab all 4090's they can get. And Chinese tech companies will just send an email to Jensen asking for more vram packages (almost as Jensen can sell the xx90 two times). 4090 will have 96GB vram and good to go for AI tasks. Cheaper than comming Blackwell with same amount ram for close to $15.000. -

Hmmm. That's equal bad deal as for Aris vs Amazon๐ Both Nvidia and Amazon want to scam you. Edit. I wonder how many of all produced xx90 chips/cards goes into the China market. On top Nvidia already offer the D branded cards for gamers/creators if not the AI companies get them directly from the different GPU manufacturers. This getting out of hands. Maybe we will see something in +2030. Hall OF Fame is back. But with D dubbed cards for China. Mr Jensen know how to go around the US sanctions. And he will make sure he get chips for the Global market at lowest costs. New chips production in US will cost a hell lot more than from Asia. So forget getting cheaper chips/graphics cards. And China... They will continue get western made tech. In one or another way. This won't stop them. The China market is far too important for Western technology companies. Greed knows no borders. And corruption into this greedy mix is an disease you can't cure. And disgusting Russia, they do as China can best... Russia sees tech boom amid sanctions https://www.overclock.net/threads/official-nvidia-rtx-5090-owners-club.1814246/post-29437613 you pay extra for the better cooling and bling bling... $500+ extra for the mentioned above MSRP is disgusting. -
I love it brother. They don't make them like this nowadays. On top the new modern Jokebooks looks a lot uglier due the Apple trend. Enjoy ๐

The New Normal...... More pc gamers will see the same. As I have posted several times... More and more PSUs come with almost no 8 pins connectors anymore beacuse all the focus is on 12V-2x6 connectors. Some come even with two of them for 1000W SKUs and measly 3x 8 pins connectors on the PSU panel. You can see the stupid engineering choices here... and here The golden fix for modern pc users... Steal one of the two 8pin connectors for the CPU. Why not take both if you need it bro @Mr. Fox๐คช And with a proper pc chassis you can put in a second PSU without problems if needed... -

I wonder how long it takes before Nvidia will answer AMD for mid end. Maybe they don't bother because they produce so few cards. But losing market shares will hurt their self respect. With such small dies they use for mid end geforce graphics chips I can't imagine they lose much silicon wafers they instead could use for AI chips/workstation cards. AMD's new Radeon RX 9070 series GPUs are the top 9 out of 10 best-selling products on Amazon https://www.tweaktown.com/news/103762/amds-new-radeon-rx-9070-series-gpus-are-the-top-9-out-of-10-best-selling-products-on-amazon/index.html Nice... Yup, closer to $1000 than $600๐คข You need to compare KP with the Astral LC version that is $3408.99 You wouldn't see 5090 KP at $3199. Nope. $3500 + tax. -

This weekend's joke. If people buy a mid range card as Radeon card for $2000 they need seek help. Same also for scalpers that think this is an good idea. LOOL. Yet another reason we see shortage of desktop graphics cards. The laptop market is damn important for OEMs. Regardless if the missing ROPS rumors is correct or not. GeForce RTX 50 laptop models said to be missing ROPs like desktop counterparts A new report from Heise.de says Nvidia's laptop SKUs have also been reported to be missing ROPs (Render Output Units). This could result in a delayed launch because OEMs and Nvidia now need to conduct additional checks. Exactly how many of these belong to Nvidia is unknown, but the recent non-availability of RTX 5070 cards and late launch of RTX 50 laptop SKUs suggest the company might have lost some inventory in the process. Plus, a DigiTimes report says the RTX 50 series has some performance and driver issues. -

We have 4 types scalpers. Nvidia (intently keeping the stock low), AIB, retail and the ordinary scalpers on top. I see 1 single 5090 card up for sale within next 3 days. Asus Astral OC. But the prices have increased $200 the last days even Norway isn't affected by the Trump tariff and the Norwgian valuta have now been improved vs USD (exchange rates against the US$ have improved greatly). This is destructive. Pure greed. Graphics card pricing is a lie Both Nvidia and AMD are announcing prices for new GPUs that customers have essentially zero chance of actually paying. Retailers Claim Second Wave Of Radeon RX 9070 Cards Will Have Higher Prices Our second delivery from PowerColor is already waiting, and we cannot offer it at MSRP prices. This means that we will first sell the Reaper models at the MSRP price and the stock balance will tick down as usual until the first delivery is sold out. Then, with a certain delay, the stock will be filled with new cards and we will then release the Reaper cards for ordering again โ but not at MSRP price. โ Johan Backelin, Inet.se
