There you see. There is hope for the young ones. Your 8 year old nephew seems as a very smart young man. So handle him well🙂 The dreaded dark is back here up in the cold North. And worse for every new day. And I hate it more for every new year to come. The damn dark and the cold over several months in a row isn't good for any one's health. Intel 14th & 13th Gen CPU Instability Issues Are Now Solved As Blue Team Confirms “0x12B” As The Final Mitigation Does this mean Intel are finished cripple the performance for 13th and 14t gen Intel chips? And does this mean the OEMs can stop remove performance related features in firmware? @Mr. Fox https://community.intel.com/t5/Blogs/Tech-Innovation/Client/Intel-Core-13th-and-14th-Gen-Desktop-Instability-Root-Cause/post/1633239 This post will cover Intel’s understanding of the root cause, as well as additional mitigations and next steps for Intel® Core™ 13th and 14th Gen desktop users. -

And me who thought it was a more modern buttplug😁 @electrosoft Hmmm. This package I got in the mail looks big enough to contain some old graphics card. I bough it from the used market for cheap so it won't be any new expensive and modern🤩 And never drill holes in your house if you don't have fire in the cold. -

Easy-peasy. Because LGA desktop processors are in short Mobile silicon glued on PCBs for desktops. Unisex, you know. One fit all and you can reduce costs. @Mr. Fox Just can't get enough of seeing disgusting modern..... But here it is... How it goes if you pare disgusting🤮 The top part is the Mobile part. Then guess what's the desktop part of this unisex Aphrodite😎 -

Intel locked that loophole for 13th and 14th gen. I mean you can only do sub 103 BCLK overclocking. -

Thanks🙂 But who knows... Maybe not the last one😁 But havne't seen much talk about the problem lately. Maybe most/many owners of 13t and 14th gen have undervolted and underclocked their CPU's trying to mitigate it themself. Even cripple it hard. Intel finds cause of overheating CPUs, provides another BIOS update Intel just identified a fourth cause for problematic 13th and 14th Gen CPUs. Get the BIOS update as soon as you can. -

Yup, we may see some gains from DDR5 CUDIMM memory kit when the Z990 refresh is out end of 2025. Also this time will the first gen (Z890 boards) be the guinea pig on Intel's new platform/socket LGA 1851. Nice, if the gains is minimal over older Raptor Lake Refresh. At least Intel can put the mess with this older gen chips behind. Big win for... Intel. And big Win for the Single thread boost Jockey's performing web browsing/light tasks on their brand new Intel platform. Single core thread performance is now King. -

Intel Core Ultra 5 245K is Faster Than Core i5-14600K But Wins Only By 4%. Fantastic for a sucessor. I hope this is just a Joke and not real. We'll see when the chips are out. But slight double of this or 10% performance gain would still be a massive failure. Intel Core Ultra 5 245K 14 Core CPU Up To 4% Faster In Cinebench R23 Benchmark Leak Versus 14600K But With 30% Fewer Threads The results above from Intel is equal awful as how the Government in world's richest country treating their citizens. They prefer sell all their oil, electricity and gas for max profits to EU. Darn disgusting. -

The more I see from this tragedy, the more I vomit. Maybe it's not good for my health, continue follow the new modern tech?🤔 Tested: Intel’s Lunar Lake wants you to forget Qualcomm laptops exist Great battery life, mediocre performance, surprisingly decent gaming: That's Intel's Lunar Lake chip. We think it’s important that you know the maximum performance potential of these laptop processors as well as how much performance is lost to keep your laptop up and running when unplugged. But you’ll also note that Intel’s older Meteor Lake (the 155H) outperforms its latest chip. What this tells me is that Intel is prioritizing battery life, not performance. Conclusion: Which laptop chip is better? Intel’s first Core Ultra, Meteor Lake, downplayed performance for long battery life; Lunar Lake takes that to the next level. This is next level of pure TRASH! Intel best where it matters nowadays for modern pc users. Maximum power efficiency at the cost of better performance. Why not just buy an thin cute and shiny Apple-Jokebook? Or just use your smartphone/tablet. -
Qualcomm buying Intel makes no sense because of AMD's ace in the hole Reports say Qualcomm wants to buy Intel's struggling chip business, but doing so would threaten the longstanding x86 patent licensing agreements between Intel and AMD. In short... Qualcomm buying Intel smells like a story intended to move financial markets more than an actual possibility.

Main problem. Mainstream desktop processors is mobile processors with slightly higher boost clocks (200MHz) and TDP. Not the opposite. This is the sad truth. Back to proper hardware. The new Seasonic Prime PSU looks great. With proper amount power connectors. Here you won't have any problems connect whatever you want. Seasonic Launches the New PRIME PX-2200 Power Supply Press Release by GFreeman Today, 10:15 Discuss (11 Comments) After a successful product introduction during Computex 2024, Sea Sonic is now launching the sales of the new PRIME PX-2200 power supply. The Seasonic PRIME Series represents Sea Sonic's pinnacle of engineering, blending cutting-edge design with premium materials and advanced production processes. The latest models showcase digital fan control, modern interleaved PFC (Power Factor Correction), and a patented dual-transformer design running in parallel. Nice. You have the chance to get rid of the 12+4 pin trash connector on the PSU side of the 12V-2x6 cables. And below is the new and more modern way to make trash for the consumers... Huge lack of power connectors although the PSU is an 1200W variant. All love is put into the stupid 12+4 connector for newest Nvidia cards. Sad seeing cost saving at all costs. Many graphics cards use 3x 8-pin. Even the newest Radeon cards from AMD. And newer motherboards use an extra 8 pin as well. And ther you go. A huge nope from me. Sharkoon Rebel P20 1200W ATX v3.1 power supply test: Yes, it can be cheapo and good Only a single 4-pin Molex connector is provided -

Is there an absolute need for +25 hours battery runtime for your work/gaming with portable laptops at the expense of better performance and let's say 12 hours before the need for charging? Then why not just buy an tablet instead if you are in need for really good battery runtime as +24 hours a day? No one run their lapjoke's 24/7/365 on battery for work or fun. For that you need an desktop or just plug it in the AC. They need to bring back performance. Not this, as you saw in my previous post. -

Depends on what Cpu and Gpu you have. Modern unlocked Intel chips can pull 400W and GPUs up to +666 W as my 4090 HOF graphics card. Lower powered hardware can come away with "mediocre" or less performing thermal paste. But even those can get an advantage using better thermal paste/or better cooling combined with better thermal paste. @Vasudev could You please add in Thermalright TF8: 13.8 W/mK on first page. Thanks

Hmmm. Is fewer PCB layers an advantage? I don't think so. Neither did Kingpin and EVGA. Cheaper to make. And boards as the >Z690 Apex had 8 layers PCB. And all know how that went. Asus added more PCB layers for the Z790 Apex boards. No backplate can replace a more expensive PCB. Here you can see MSI slap on the moniker "Ultra Low Loss" as an game changer. Hmmm. Why not just go even cheaper and make 6 layers boards for the OC enthusiasts? Hope it comes cheap to reflect the boards cost Sep 20, 20:45 MSI MEG Z890 UNIFY-X overclocking board for Core Ultra 200K series has been leaked -

Summary and conclusion Actually, I could have spent the weekend more usefully, but when questions come from the community about products and follow-up tests, then of course that has a certain priority for me. Since two out of three samples from 2024 delivered better test values and are more similar to the sample from 2023, I naturally adjusted the Noctua NT-H2 values in the database. However, even after all these tests, I still stand by the fact that the NT-H2 is a rather mediocre product that has seen better days, even if the follow-up measurements turned out a little better. And the next big in the overclocking world is the "high hangin" single thread performance crown. And I expect Arrow Lake without any HT (dead) will rumble in that type benchmark battle. AMD Ryzen 7 9700X Takes On 7.1GHz Core i9-14900K In Single-Threaded Benchmark Battle Intel Thermal Velocity boost and AMD's Precision Boost Overdrive is what the modern gamers will take max advantage of for this type oc'ing single core race.
