  1. You risk basic mistakes also with being an firmware guinea pig. Within 3 days and you get a new one to try out.... Temped?😬 But awful see Dell Alienware go backwards into the future with same old cheapo made chassis to cut costs. New MEI firmware for 6xx and 7xx Intel platform... For those that dare... Intel ME Consumer Firmware : 16.1.27.2225 [21/05/2023]
  2. Forgot to ask. Same also with other AMD graphics drivers (release drivers)? When we first talk about AMD.... AMD prepare for more/increase in security vulnerabilities in the future. AMD Expected to Increase Microcode Size for Future Processor Technologies Phoronix has recently uncovered an intriguing Linux update, with kernel improvements being prepared to handle greater microcode payloads—they believe that "future AMD CPUs will be getting larger microcode patches." The timing could suggest that upcoming Zen 5 processors will be likely candidates to meet new requirements: "Right now the Linux kernel has a maximum microcode patch size for AMD CPUs that is three times the kernel's page size (typically 4K). But with a patch (published on July 20) that will "increase substantially" to eight times the page size. The increase is intentionally quite a magnitude larger in order to avoid future patches further having to bump the patch size limit in later generations." This one popped up from the dark today... Nice name... Zenbleed🙂 Does not require physical access to the computer or server and can even be executed via javascript on a webpage. Just plug and play, LOOL AMD 'Zenbleed' Bug Allows Data Theft From Zen 2 Processors, Patches ComingA huge Zen 2 leak requires a patch. AMD's statement implies there will be some performance impact from the patches, but we'll have to conduct independent benchmarks when the patches arrive for the consumer Ryzen products. In the meantime, we've asked AMD for any ballpark figures it can share. And nice to see that AMD don't bother release a new security patch before end of 2023 for their consumer chips. This means you still can have the same Cpu performance another 4 or 5 months 🙂
  3. AMD 'Zenbleed' Bug Allows Data Theft From Zen 2 Processors, Patches ComingA huge Zen 2 leak requires a patch. [Update 9:15am PT: AMD told us that patches to prevent Zenbleed are available for its EPYC Rome processors, but hasn't said if they are available for the impacted consumer Ryzen CPUs. AMD also hasn't given an ETA for patches for Ryzen chips or responded to our questions about potential performance impacts from the Zenbleed patches. We're still working to learn more.] The 'Zenbleed' vulnerability spans the entire Zen 2 product stack, including AMD's EPYC data center processors and the Ryzen 3000 CPUs, allowing the theft of protected information from the CPU, such as encryption keys and user logins. The attack does not require physical access to the computer or server and can even be executed via javascript on a webpage. Update. AMD's statement implies there will be some performance impact from the patches, but we'll have to conduct independent benchmarks when the patches arrive for the consumer Ryzen products. In the meantime, we've asked AMD for any ballpark figures it can share. According to Ormandy, all Zen 2 CPUs are impacted, including the EPYC Rome processors: AMD Ryzen 3000 Series Processors AMD Ryzen PRO 3000 Series Processors AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3000 Series Processors AMD Ryzen 4000 Series Processors with Radeon Graphics AMD Ryzen PRO 4000 Series Processors AMD Ryzen 5000 Series Processors with Radeon Graphics AMD Ryzen 7020 Series Processors with Radeon Graphics AMD EPYC “Rome” Processors Not what the fanboys want to hear. But the AMD engineers is spot on.... from the security bulletins. "Any computer system" has risks of security vulnerabilities that cannot be completely prevented or mitigated. And nice to see that AMD don't bother release a new patch before end of 2023 for their consumer chips. This means you still can have the same Cpu performance another 4 or 5 months 🙂
  4. Same behavior for all different installed OS? Or only one OS installed on the workstation? You could also install an older version 3DMark for testing. A fast solution to test.
  5. Here's an even better deal. $64 for 2TB Intel M.2 ssd is quite good. I get an 500GB ssd for the same price here home😞 Bulk up Your Storage With a 2TB Intel 670p M.2 SSD for $64: Real Deals Posted 6 hours ago. 180 adapter in a TUF 4090 LOOL
  6. Now sole distributor of rebranded half cheapo PSUs with short warranty and a few pc peripherals. There is more into this with EVGA than just that Nvidia become too greedy for them. The Nvidia move was just an camouflage for their major change in their business. Let it sink in... First do the graphics card stunt to get sympathy, then follow up later and kill the rest of their major HW lineup. Nice put all the blame on Nvidia and not on themself going out of business. Yep, I don't trust what come from EVGA forewards. EVGA is finished or better say dead as a real PC HW/OEM company.... 180-degree adapter melted/burnt onto 4090 What’s the best course of action? I understand they want us to RMA first but my 180-degree adapter is so solidly fused to the card it can’t be removed.... Stupidity have no limits...... CableMod reddit furum is filled with stupids.... @Mr. Fox😟

  8. But isn'yt it nice.... Asus have to find the so called better chips also for the new Puke themed 4090 OC EVA-02 Edition. Asus have now 3 different OC flagship models they can spread their better silicon on. Or even better... 4 different Strix based 4090 OC models will have to fight for the better silicon/vram if you include the 4090 Matrix. This means also even less chance to get good chips for the lower end of the 4090 SKUs😇 "4090 Strix OC EVA-02 Puke Edition" maintains the same impressive features as the original model, including a boost clock of up to 2640 MHz with GPU Tweak software and an out-of-the-box experience of 2610 MHz" Of course, it will be necessary to expect an additional cost because of the Evangelion theme. Fortunately, we won't have to wait too long to see what Asus has in store for us "kids". @ryan If I install multiple OS partitions on a single ssd drive I usually set them at 200GB. Better have slight headroom than cut it to the bone. Edit. Mounted together the new benchtable. Big enough space to fit two 2 monitors. So far so good. I have a fancy all black gaming chair but I hate it. Awful to sit in so I have put it away. I need to see if I find a new one. But it won't be a new gaming chair. Just a regular office chair who is good to sit in. Yep, I rather sit in the old black kitchen chair for now than go back to the new and modern for gaming kids, LOOL The other table is now for parts. Will probably go back into one of the other rooms. The red color themed on big pad was too much for me. All black bro @electrosoft Same as my new shiny polished all black crocs😆 Not finished how I want the new OS but have put back the other drives. The new 990 Pro have an massive OP at around half the disk. Not needed but this is the way I prefer when the space is not in use. I always put an nice amount OP for my ssd’s. Btw. Tested out the modern 21:9 ultrawide gaming monitors last time I was in the electronic store. Not my thing. Not at all. I wonder how people can use them in other tasks than in gaming. My eyes went wacko with this type screen.
  9. Be sure you get the orginals. The fake may hamper your 3DMark scores. So may not worth it😁 I normally buy them in the shops/boutiques here home. So they are the real deal. Intel 670p M.2 1TB SSD Drops to New Low Price of $36 tomshardware. I wish we had such deals here home. Hmmm. @Mr. Fox The white Apex bords looks a hell lot better than this.... ASUS unveils Evengelion-themed ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 4090 EVA-02 Edition In addition to the GPU, ASUS is also introducing other products that complement the EVA-02 theme. These include the ROG Maximus Z790 Hero EVA-02 edition motherboard, the new ROY RYUJIN III cooler, and ROG Hyperion PC cases that embrace the same striking design. Furthermore, gamers can look forward to matching peripherals, such as a mouse, keyboard, and VGA-support bracket, completing the immersive and stylish gaming setup. 10. Do you read my posts bro @electrosoft?😬 Or only interested in the pictures?😆 Welcome to last month posts.... But yep they looks clean... Norway have a lot of rain, LOOL
  11. Here's the benchtable I talked about. Only one was left in the shop. $90 incl Norwegian tax. And all black as my crocs bro @electrosoft😁
  12. Some live in a big bubble and are in complete denial. Fanboys of the Red teams products is just small kids compared to Sral1994 huge love for CM products. I expect the number 1994 in the nick name means 29 years old. Hmmm... When I was 29 I had kids smarter than this one. 90 degree adapter melted today
  13. Me.... Installing my favorite games😁 @Mr. Fox @Rage Set @electrosoft +++😆 Do you have this great game bro @ryan😬 Ungine Superposition 1.1 is only measly 2.66GB. And you can finalize this game within 3-5 min. You can't beat that, HaHa
  14. Try this. Run cmd as adm. bcdedit /set removememory 32768 To reset. Run cmd as adm... bcdedit /deletevalue removememory See if this make an difference with half the ram🙂 I expect you have 64GB ram.
  15. Do you need have to play with the latest and greatest all time to be a "PC enthusiast"? I fiddle a lot with older hardware so I have to be put in the category "average Joe".... I got this one. One the way to Papusan's plaza 🙂 I really like the Samsung USB bars. Very good quality and for an ok'ish price here home. They have never failed me. They come in darker grey and silver and in solid metal body. Not the thin and flimsy metal/plastic as some USB thumbs are made of. Real metal body. They are so massive built that I think they easily can withstand being over run with a truck without any problems.
  16. Could be worse🙂 How To Check RAM Usage in Windows tomshardware.com @Mr. Fox Maybe we are doing something wrong? Maybe the PCworld editor can help us to see the lights?😄 4 reasons why I switched from Nvidia to AMD For years, my Nvidia graphics card has served me faithfully, but I am turning my back on Team Green – at least for now......
  17. Depends on the type benchmarks you run. Usually you get max speed etc in Crystal Diskmark and similar ssd benchmarks. And as I have already pointed out… Sequential read/write isn’t what you should measure as the important speed. You don’t move huge files the whole day or 24/7/365. As for the 5gen ssd above you should see Sequential Reads/Writes: 12,400 MBps / 11,800 MB/s. But you get well under 10.000 MBps in AS-SSD. Different benchmarks give different results.
  18. Here's a fast run with AS-SSD I did with the new Samsung 990 Pro 2TB drive. Heres the review results of same Samsung 990 Pro.... https://www.thessdreview.com/our-reviews/nvme/samsung-990pro-gen-4-ssd-series-review-samsung-reigns-true-yet-again/3/ And here below is an review of Gen5 drive that was the so called worlds fastest PCIe-ssd. Fast in sequential speed but fail in the more important 4K random read/write and in the total score. So newer has to be better. Always 🙂 AS SSD BENCHMARK VER 2.0 The toughest benchmark available for solid state drives is AS SSD as it relies solely on incompressible data samples when testing performance. For the most part, AS SSD tests can be considered the ‘worst case scenario’ in obtaining data transfer speeds and many enthusiasts like AS SSD for their needs.… https://www.thessdreview.com/our-reviews/corsair-mp700-pcie-5-0-2tb-nvme-ssd-review/3/
  19. What is good enough for you? 900MB?😎 Or even lower? You know you risk lower performance if you reduce the mem footprint too far? What is it in English? Diminishing returns? What is the Law of Diminishing Returns? In a production process, as a production factor increases, the amount of total output increases, but will reach an optimal output level before it begins to decrease or diminish This OS will probably be a gaming OS. If I ever get the time for that, LOOL Edit. Some really belive in Santa Claus😇 I think vertical mounting is the solution for melting issues
  20. More works has to be done…. But no more time for this right now. The 8th Win Os is installed for the big black box 🙂 https://ibb.co/gzJ7sxB
  21. Don't be bro ryan 🙂 Edit. Yep, sure. Didn't think it would happen :(
  22. People often go with design over functionality. Fancy design and fancy lights.... And they are sold on it. They eat with their eyes. This is the sad truth bro Fox. Hence we will see more trash. Not less of it. Is more always better than less bro @ryan😁
  23. Nope. Not in Hell. Yep, a good heatink can make wonders🙂 And check out der8auer's youtube channel. He have tested a lot flawed M.2 ssd heatsink's. A lot trash out there. Btw. I helped Jonnyguru to see the lights 🙂
