That is the basic problem with FSR2, it has a lack of temporal stability. As soon as you move the object fizzles, shimmers and grains. It looks like absolute garbage and reminds me of using a high level of motion blur. In static images it looks half way decent against DLSS2+. But as soon as you move, it's game over lol. Also it's useless outside of Quality preset. Meanwhile recent versions of DLSS, like 3.5.0 look completely serviceable even at the Ultra Preset with a 4K resolution "start point". I use DLSS2 in every single game that I play because I'm on 4K. When you start at 4K and then use a quality or balanced, it's near impossible to tell the difference. I highly doubt anyone would be able to identify it in a side by side blind comparison. So when I see companies going out of their way to pay off a dev to force use of their shitty tech, claiming to care about gamers, it truly pisses me off. Include all 3 techs and let the market decide. -

Yes and I'm playing it at 4K Ultra, DLAA (native super AA) with around 60-80fps. DLSS mod was released for free within 2 hours of launch lol. I played about 15 minutes of FSR2, enough time to realize that FSR still sucks. This company has probably sold millions of copies of this game and can't spend a half days work to properly implement DLSS? "It's too time consuming and difficult for devs!!" That is a pathetic excuse that is parroted around the internet. Thank god for PureDark and his amazing abilities. It took the guy 2 hours to implement DLSS support. I also get an extra 11fps just by forcing on ReBar with inspector. Remember AMD by default has SAM turned on for all games. Nvidia in their infinite wisdom only greenlights some games in their drivers. Stupid. -

Wait.. Wait!! hmscott was Scott Herkelman?! I would totally believe that! That guy was the biggest AMD/Radeon Fanboy I've ever met. -

These are exactly my findings. The 40 series seem to hit a voltage wall around 1.13-1.15v. Even though my XOC 4080 vBIOS can push 1.195v, there is absolutely no use for it unless doing LN2 or similar. You can't cool it and the chip does not seem to scale with it unless using crazy exotic cooling. I've actually just been using the regular Asus 420w vBIOS on this 4080 as 1.11v seems to be plenty until I decide if I really want to tinker with water on an 80 series card. Had to go back and beat my old score and show them it wasn't a once off. #1 and #2 are mine. They can have bronze. -

It's possible he blew a fuse on the card? Hopefully he updates us when he pulls the block. -

The guy that unlocked nvflash for 40 series flash, full sent his 4090 with 1.3v (using external elmor labs) LOL. 1175w and it now rests in Valhalla. But he took the world record for Solar Bay just previous to this run lol. https://www.3dmark.com/search#advanced?test=sb P&cpuId=&gpuId=1509&gpuCount=0&gpuType=ALL&deviceType=ALL&storageModel=ALL&memoryChannels=0&country=&scoreType=overallScore&hofMode=false&showInvalidResults=false&freeParams=&minGpuCoreClock=&maxGpuCoreClock=&minGpuMemClock=&maxGpuMemClock=&minCpuClock=&maxCpuClock= -

Yes unfortunately this is a Galax XOC vBIOS for the 4080. 1000w and temp limits removed, true XOC. I have no idea why this is only available for the 4080 and not the true KING 4090. Makes absolutely no sense. My guess is that this was never intended to leak. After Nvflash was patched I've finally been able to flash it and use it. Works perfectly on my TUF 4080 model. It allows me to set 1195mV which is incredible, but impossible for me to cool that much voltage unfortunately. I am looking into grabbing a block for the card to let it fly a bit. It's a 4080, but at least now I have some real voltage to do some tuning with. https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/255340/255340 -

LOL that burned TUF 4090 is my wife’s cousin. He sent me that image the other day. Apparently Asus is taking care of him and doing expedited shipment. -

Interesting, that's very interesting.. Grabbed 4th on Speedway https://www.3dmark.com/search#advanced?test=sw P&cpuId=&gpuId=1520&gpuCount=0&gpuType=ALL&deviceType=ALL&storageModel=ALL&memoryChannels=0&country=&scoreType=overallScore&hofMode=false&showInvalidResults=false&freeParams=&minGpuCoreClock=&maxGpuCoreClock=&minGpuMemClock=&maxGpuMemClock=&minCpuClock=&maxCpuClock= https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/98720862 Got some major testing to do tonight. I need a waterblock and chiller now. I can't cool 1195mV. The temps go wild way too fast. So now it's a delicate balance between voltage and clocks and temps to not throttle below what 1110mV would have given me. -

With the pace that Microcenter is building new locations, I'm truly shocked that Phoenix area hasn't gotten one yet. I think Miami is next? -

Yes I had an Omen 16 11800H/3070 laptop similar to yours. Had same motherboard I believe. I managed to overclock the RAM to Gear 1 and set 3200MHz CL17 through use of a USB drive and setting the variables myself. No BIOS screen or advanced BIOS unfortunately. Just typing in what I wanted, and pointing it to the addresses essentially. Kinda annoying to do have to it that way, but it works and isn't particularly difficult once you figure it out. At a minimum setting Gear 1 will help greatly. You're already at 3200 CL22 by default, but by default it's using Gear 2 which is terribly slow. Point me to your current BIOS download/file. Let me dump the BIOS file and take a look. Then I'll PM you instructions on how to make the USB file, and how to type the commands. When you get in and get it to do what you want you feel like you hacked your machine lol. Also loved this show, was a shame when they got rid of it. -

They very likely modded their card and added the missing VRAM modules. I've seen a few do that, some modded their 3070 laptops to use 16gb VRAM. Easier to do as the density of the GDDR6 modules has gotten higher. The test seems to also really like CPU/memory speed. Have you considered getting that HP into Gear 1? Gear 2 is terrible on laptops. Can shave off an easy 20ns of latency just by switching to Gear 1. -

I have to close out of MSI Afterburner and Riva in order to run the benchmark. So I can't watch clocks in real-time. I set my clock, close out and run the benchmark and it runs fine. Others have reported the same issue so hopefully it gets fixed soon. -

Have you forced ReBar through NvInspector for 3dmark? There isn't exactly a profile for SolarBar, but I found forcing for general 3dmark profile it helped a bit. Forced with Battlefield V profile for all 3 toggles in NVINspector. -

Absolutely. In case any of us have to RMA a card, were sure to get a castrated version back which is BS. Thankfully this legend took card of that issue. https://www.3dmark.com/search#advanced?test=sb P&cpuId=&gpuId=1520&gpuCount=0&gpuType=ALL&deviceType=ALL&storageModel=ALL&memoryChannels=0&country=&scoreType=overallScore&hofMode=false&showInvalidResults=false&freeParams=&minGpuCoreClock=&maxGpuCoreClock=&minGpuMemClock=&maxGpuMemClock=&minCpuClock=&maxCpuClock= Not sure any of you have tried out this new free benchmark. With my new voltage headroom I've been able to extend my lead. Newest 3dMark is buggy AF. It validated fine, then went back to grab screenshot and shows not. Then launching a benchmark it will show a different benchmark but then launch the correct one. Very buggy behavior lately. O well. -

You can now use this patched Nvflash to flash the old vBIOS to get full 1.1v back on any 4090 card. This also works on 4080 as I just flashed my volts limited 4080 back to full 1.11v. github.com/notfromstatefarm/nvflash Credits to this guy. -

https://www.ea.com/games/immortals-of-aveum/immortals-of-aveum/news/technology We've now gotten to the point in PC gaming where DEVs have to include a "performance budget" tool to help the kiddo xbox gamers that got their first PC during COVID. The tool helps them adjust their settings so they don't whine and cry post launch it's not running at 400 fps on 4K Ultra. 🤡🤡🤡🤡 -

Looking forward to tinkering with a new chip. Honestly just hoping for another big IMC jump. Also that chip is running at 1.51v IMC LOL. Here, take my heavily abused 13900KS for $2500 that is going to quickly shown up by a 14900K in a couple months lol. Sorry they missed the boat on selling that IMO. Might have been a different story if they had sold it on launch or if it was the last chip for the socket, but luckily were getting some improved silicon. -

If you want another 13900KS provantage has over 500 tray 13900KS in stock since a few days ago. https://www.provantage.com/service/searchsvcs?QUERY=13900ks&SUBMIT.x=0&SUBMIT.y=0 I think Central Computers also got a few retail units in stock as well and they don't charge sales tax so it almost works out to the same price as a tray. Nevermind just checked, CC is out of stock of retail but has OEM/Tray in stock. https://www.centralcomputer.com/intel-core-i9-13900ks-13th-gen-processor-24-core-processor-tray-cm8071504820503.html Personally I'll be waiting for 14900K that will drop in 2-3 months. -

I've got 30 days to mess around with it and decide but I'll likely be sticking with this card, pretty happy with it. Can't run Cyberpunk 2077 with path tracing on the XTX.
