  1. No unfortunately, but I can drop the 6800xt in, and install win 7.
  2. Sup brotha, nice to see another old NBRer.
  3. AMD X670 also works with windows 7, at least with MSI motherboards 👍
  4. I was running 1.72, but 1.74 was available. Definitely fixed my A6 issue, and now with the memory restore, it should be easier for me to fine tune the memory. It was a pain in the a** when trying to tweak something and it would hang, forcing me to hold the power button down.
  5. @electrosoftThere are a few new bios's out for our MB. I have not checked in a while, but they are up to v. 1.83. Testing now. I dont remember seeing the memory fail restore feature in any of the previous bios's that I have used, so that is new for me. Or I just didnt pay close enough attention Edit: 5 restarts from windows, and no A6 hangs...🤙
  6. I guess I would be sort of biased, but if I had to do it all over again, I'd buy the same cpu. I am super impressed with performance, both in games, and productivity. If I really got super serious and dug my heels into squeezing more from it, I would, but life has kept me ultra busy, and the hobby is on the back burner a bit. The 7950X is a beast, and not much can touch it core for core. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cpu-hierarchy,4312.html
  7. Yeah, thats what I was saying. Anything that has AMD profiles/EXPO are not above 6000mhz. I bought the ram I have now without AMD EXPO, I think they are Intel XMP, as I didnt pay attention too much. So anything above 6000mhz will not have AMD EXPO, and like you said, I would be stuck with XMP, or manual tuning. So, I was wondering if I bought some ram that were AMD EXPO, they would function without the A6 hang.
  8. No MC here. The nearest is Portland Oregon, I believe. There is nothing that has AMD Expo that is above 6000mhz, that I see. So pick up some TG 6600mhz or something along those lines?
  9. So basically I have to purchase/RMA, purchase/ RMA until I receive the coveted hynix sticks I wish to have? 🤣
  10. @electrosoftI have not bought any new memory yet. I guess if it says AMD Expo, it is Hynix memory? I cant seem to find where they list the name of the ram on the egg. https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb/p/N82E16820374427?Item=N82E16820374427
  11. I chose MSI originally for my x670 because of canonkongs suggestion on the win-raid forums for running windows 7. I'm a bit disappointed with the stupid A6 hang on restarts, so I may go back to AsRock in the future. The X570 I had was a great board for ocing.
  12. Well, my 7900xtx will be going under water soon, as I ordered the bykski block for it. Now maybe I can get some of the same numbers as others on the bot. We shall see. 😎
  13. Wouldnt hurt to put up a donation link, would it? I routinely donate to a few sites that I enjoy. It may not be much, but I would think every little bit helps?
  14. Agree...seeing threads about running prime 95 for 48 hours etc ...I just chuckle to myself, and think "idiot"
  15. My MB has gen 5 pcie built in, so I wouldn't need an add in card. Those are impressive numbers for sure! I may get that water block then, as I had a Bykski on my Radeon VII, and it worked well, except it did not come with a back plate. And you are right, I didnt know they were in Boise!
  16. Speaking of water blocks, has anyone ever heard of this brand? Thoughts? https://www.ebay.com/itm/195822751822?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=_Ojum55TQSC&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=KPle319-QM2&var=495672917931&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  17. I have one of those crucial ssd's loaded in my cart, eagerly awaiting the checkout process 😁
  18. So, I turn my rig on for the first time in 2 weeks, and I am presented with the Gui OS boot menu?? @Mr. Foxdoes windoze revert back after setting the bootloader to legacy? Also, did you purchase those crucial gen 5 ssd's from the egg? Sorry if you mentioned it, I was so far behind in the forums, I kind of skimmed through.
  19. Sceptre has been around for some time. They make TV's as well.
  20. Ive tried cl32 and end up with the A6 hang. Its annoying to try and tune something, and your system hangs up on post. The A6 debug code is supposed to have something to do with scsi initiate, and I am not sure what that would have to do with memory. It would seem that it would be a HDD failure or something along those lines. Maybe I should get some expo modules and try those? The stock timings on mine are 36-36-36-96 @6000mhz.
  21. I have no idea what die mine are, but they are not as good as yours.
  22. Yes, I bought Ram that are not AMD Expo, and setting them manually or using Expo settings cause my system to hang on restart. I made a youtube video not long ago showing the system hang, and posted it here. Did not get much feedback then on what could be causing it. I just assumed it was a bios thing, and kept waiting for a fix. I have been tinkering with timings lately and am starting to zero in on some nice settings. I agree whole hardheartedly, and was annoyed when carriers decided to start locking bootloaders. I do own a OnePlus phone, and really like it. T-mobile was one of the last to do so, and that is why I switched to them quite a few years back, but then they jumped on board the lock train.
  23. I think bootloader unlocking is only available in google devices in the US. if I am not mistaken. Carriers in the US have long since locked Samsung devices. International devices can still be unlocked, I believe. It has been a few years for me. I was a hardcore themer of Touchwiz back in the day. @electrosoftDo you have any issues with your MSI carbon hanging on A6 code? https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threads/msi-mpg-x670-carbon-a6-hang.386745/ Edit 2: How do you purchase Ram knowing what manufacturer they are? I never see any description that, say for instance, Gskill Trident Z5 is (Hynix, Samsung, etc)
  24. Although I kind of like the idea, its just more government regulation from the EU. I do not like government being able to determine what a free market should be, and the EU is a perfect example of overreach. https://www.techspot.com/news/99102-european-union-votes-bring-back-replaceable-phone-batteries.html
