  1. I may switch back to the AsRock board next go around. Loved my X570 from them on the 3900X. This MSI board is really starting to torque me off. Tried to enter the flash utility to flash the new bios, and it locked up with this code. Has to reset cmos again
  2. I'll be abandoning my 7950x build next year for a 8950x build. 🤣. Been reading about the new ground up architecture on the 3nm node. Should make for a good upgrade 👍 How about you bros @electrosoft@jaybee83?
  3. Thanks for the heads up bro! I will grab it tonight, and check it out.
  4. The Accelerated Graphics Port was the bomb back then, otherwise you were stuck with onboard MB graphics, or a standard PCI slot. My 16mb Nivida Riva TNT card was the shiat! Yes, for the younger gen, motherboards came with onboard graphics sometimes, and you think Intels onboard CPU graphics suck?
  5. It has always done weird stuff, and I've checked event viewer. It just says "system has had an unexpected shutdown" or something along those lines. It's been a pretty flaky board since I've had it. Some of the bios updates have actually helped it, like the last two updates eliminated the restart hang I was having.
  6. Yes, as soon as I hit the reply button to the above post, my screen went black, and rebooted. Fresh install of Win 10 22H2 LTSC. I leave my system running all weekend, and it will reboot for no reason. I figured I was having stability issues with the 8000mhz ram. I think I will set everything to auto in the bios, and see if it happens. This board has been a little sketchy for me, doing some weird stuff, like images showing the drive order in the bios being corrupted, not saving certain bios changes, hanging after hitting "save and reboot", resetting cmos not loading defaults.
  7. @jaybee83@electrosoftSo, how is it that I am 10 loops stable with memtest64, but I get random restarts during a 24 hour period? Maybe its not a memory speed thing, and more of a bios thing still?
  8. Some of you may remember from the NBR days, I posted some wallpapers that I had made....It is funny how this stuff gets stolen/shared.
  9. Cool, I will try this out for sure!
  10. I love ASRock and their products. Been using them for a while now. My AM4 MB was rock solid, and had a lot of features. Not to mention my Taichi GPU, which is fantastic!
  11. I have done zero tweaking with Ram settings yet. All I have done is set the voltage correctly, and enabled Expo/XMP. Edit: I do not think its stable even passing 10 loops of memtest 64. While trying to decompress a 100gb file, it will error out. Tried several times, and checked file integrity multiple times, yet it would not decompress. Decided to check if the IMC was at fault, and sure enough, I lowered the RAM speed to 6600, and the file decompressed without issues.
  12. Does anyone know if there is a built in benchmark for StarField?
  13. You wear your crocks as I do 😄 Mine are much dirtier though.
  14. Umm, duh... Lack of sleep may have contributed to this. I have no idea what I was doing that morning. I pass 10 loops of memtest 64@8000mhz
  15. If you can run PBO voltage curve at -30 all cores with CB 23, I would say it's your board and not imc. I am bench stable at 8000 xmp on, and 6400. I have benched 6600, but not stable. Of course that's only with very limited time playing with it.
  16. I've known chew for a long time, and he's a rock star when it comes to memory tweaking. I'm glad he's posting his results for us.
  17. @Mr. FoxDidnt you say you use a custom win 10 iso? If so could you link it to me please?
  18. Not jumping in to defend AMD's drivers, because they do somewhat suck. I miss the old CCC days for sure, as I didnt have to reset my PC if the driver crashed while benching (most of the time) The modern app model is broken, and pointless IMO, and should have been abandoned years ago. I do, however, like the update frequency in which AMD releases their drivers. On a side note, I am very pleased with the purchase of the 7900xtx, and think its a fun card to bench, especially with a water block installed. (of what little time I have had with it) Update: Newegg has not asked for the extra DDR5 8000mhz ram back, so I have some 2x16gb Trident Z5 available on the cheap. https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb/p/N82E16820374449?Item=N82E16820374449
  19. Ooh, nice! I'll have to download that this weekend and try it! @Mr. FoxI will try and post something this weekend for him. The quickest way to get a performance bump is to set the PBO to all cores, and adjust the voltage curve optimizer down to negative 20 to 30 (If his particular silicon can handle it)
  20. Mobo in my sig, and haven't had a chance to play with it yet to see how stable it is. I did, however, receive another set of the Gskill trident Z's in the mail 😁. I had to file for a lost package on my initial purchase, as it never showed up, but it magically appeared yesterday via UPS mail innovations. Not sure if the Egg will ask for it back or not. Was looking through my Newegg account and found an old review I posted. All I have to say is..."ahh, the good old days"!
  21. @jaybee83Have you had any luck getting 8000 to boot? I haven't had much time to mess with mine, but 8000mhz just hangs. I'm in at 7800mhz just fine, using xmp settings, and just dropping to it. Says on the package it is 1.45v, but bios only goes up to 1.43v?
  22. This is also why you get many freebies/goodies sent to you to play with 👍
