I wonder what the difference in the firmware is between my 6800xt and that 6900xt, besides the obvious? I know brother @Mr. Fox will have his hands full if he gets it running on windows 7. Not sure if the final AMD windows 7 driver is crippled a bit or the newer drivers for windows 10 are more optimized for the card, but I am a good 1000 points shy with win 7 in 3dmark 11. The better physics score in win 7 won't make up for the better graphics score in windows 10. At least that's what I found. -

Brother @johnksssI snapped this picture while watching the golf channel. Carl Weathers doing the "Chubbs" character from Happy Gilmore for the pga store. I got a laugh out of it. -

I did mod all of the voltage, and clocks. Very minor tweaks to test the waters since I am still on air. I had problems with RBE, and found that I needed to download the beta version. The standard version always said "not supported" when loading the stock vbios. I'm not too worried about bricking it, I just need to have another card to boot to in case I do. I used to flash ATI vbios all the time, it's just been a while. I think there was a bios mod back in the day, that would give you the next sku up HD3850 to HD3870 or something along those lines. -

This is what I am getting ready to do. I just have to get some cahones, and another video card in case I brick this one. I have 2 crap GT 440's ( I think ), but they only have DVI connections, and my monitor does not have one of those. Oh, and they are packed in a box somewhere labeled "Computer Room" 😁 All these cool pictures are giving me the itch to go open loop again...crap .and 6950xt's in stock at newegg for $699. Waiting for 7xxx series to drop in price. Everything is gonna hit the fan soon with these prices. -

Whats funny, is I just got home from work, reading the posts here about Windows 11, rebooted to the windows 7 drive and benched WPrime. Smoked my Windows 10 runs easily without any effort. I really haven't had any time to have a good ole bench-fest yet with this rig. Ive d one some auto submissions via benchmate, but haven't had time to really tweak on it yet. -

Another difference between Windows 7, and 10. WPrime 32mb Windows 7- 1.171, Windows 10 1.393 Knowing my luck there is probably some rule about using Windows 7 and WPrime. https://hwbot.org/submission/5214589_ -

Ive yet to install that garbage, I'll probably VM it first to see how ridiculous it is. Luckily there are ways of changing the gui to something that resembles a functional OS. -

Thais why I haven't seen any, they are Intel boards. I know EVGA makes a two slot X570 chipset board. Haven't checked in a while, but last I looked, still no X670's. -

EVGA is the only company that made 2 slot MB's, right? I cant remember ever seeing anything else. Back in the day, I had a socket and slot 1 Mobo for the CPU...lol -

Checked the event viewer, and any critical/error messages in windows are only from the next boot. Stating the previous shutdown was unexpected. Everything else is information logs. There is no bsod when it happens, just blank screen, and reboot. -

Got a funny bug with Windows 10 ltsc. It likes to restart for no reason. Just working away, and bam, blank screen. All hardware installed in dev manager, no over clocks, fresh install on the new WD black. Funny thing is Windows 7 is missing two drivers, and runs 24/7 with no issues what so ever. I have windows 7 set as the deffault OS, andI just sent a couple email documents off, replied to a couple others, set my printer up, and hopped in the shower. Went back in the office, and its sitting at the Windows 7 log in screen. SMDH -

Ive gone back and forth over the years, although I have not built an Intel system since the Pentium 4 days, I have always preferred the longevity of AMD's socket architecture, instead of the one and done. Unless there is a change in PCIE, USB, SATA standards, there is no reason to purchase another motherboard. Earlier I was using a 3rd gen Ryaen on a 1st gen board, and there was nothing missing, as far as performance. -
