Thats not kind of interesting, that is cool af. Silent cooling at 1 watt of power while dissipating 5 watts of heat. I can see this as next gen cooling. Edit: At the end of the video he says that these will be installed on products by the end of the year. -

Back im my day, it was....Can it run Unreal tournament. Fitting that its Unreal Engine pushing the envelope again. I had two of those 5870's crossfired, or maybe it was the 4870's...and hacked my case top to put in the Koolance water cooler. -

It is overkill, but hardware enthusiasts eat this crap up. We like fast this or faster that. This is our dilema.....there is always something faster or newer. -

Seems like I may have purchased a fairly good chip. I was able to undervolt this thing in precision at -30, so far it is benching CB23. Hasnt crashed yet (crossing fingers) -

So I've gone through 5 or 6 Windows 10 LTSC installs, and finally found one that I might stick with. It's 22h2 Windows lot. Not sure if it's a bug with the install, but it resets to the default theme after every reboot. I'm using a modified iso, so that may be the problem as well. Hopefully I will find some time this weekend to run some benchmarks. Of course I may be formatting again if this install pisses me off further. Meanwhile Windows 7 purrs along on the other nvme with three drivers not installed, and two disabled, (AMD wifi, and the integrated Radeon gpu). Canonkong helping me figure out the three that won't install. Honestly I'm having more issues with the Windows 10 install, than with 7...*shrug* -

I'd frag everyone....I was the king of the "instagib" 🤣. Ahh, the memories of lugging my 70lb 19" crt monitor, and full tower down the street to a friend's house, or across town to the civic center for a "lan party". Ipconfig release.....ipconfig renew! 🤣 -

Ok first real quick benchmark in Windows 7. Only adjusted the sliders a little for the 6800xt. My previous best was on the Radeon VII three years ago, just a tad under 25k. Installing Windows 10 LTSC now -

Update on build '23. I was sweating for about an hour trying to figure out how to get the massive radiator in, but finally got it. This lianLi lancool is an awesome case. Trying to tone down the unicorn piss, but some software is not supported in Windows 7. -

Pretty hard to get the wrong drivers when I'm installing windows 7 first. The last windows 7 amd gpu driver works, and I'll be installing canonkongs hacked chipset, usb, etc drivers. I'm not much in the habit of googling drivers, unless it's something I can't find. 👍 -

For those interested, it seems Der8auer is testing a prototype direct die kit for Ryzen 7000 series cpu's. https://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-7000-cpu-direct-die-cooling-can-offer-up-to-20c-lower-temps-ihs-hot-spots-temps-analyzed/ Article is dated September 2022, maybe it has already been discussed. -

I've been doing some firestrike runs on this current system, not the one in my sig, but my 3900x, 6600xt, b350 board, and slow 2800mhz ddr4. I was trying to compare to the last system I had in early 2000, which was a 3900x, radeon vii, x570 board, and oc'ed ram at 3600mhz. I've been consistently getting better combined scores with the system I have now. A difference of 500 points between the two. Although my graphics score was lower with the 6600xt. Stange that I'm getting a better combined score on inferior hardware. Newer 3dmark version? -

This is why I ultimately did not go with AMD's latest Gpu. Last generation is good enough, and supports Windows 7. The only hope I have is AMD drivers are open source, and maybe someone can hack compatibility into their latest bloatware/drivers for further support. Ive been on a LTSC laptop for the last 3 years, and had forgotten how much better windows 7 looks, and feels. Everything goes together, you dont have modern app cancer spread throughout the OS. The settings app, stupid, and ugly, the calendar app. stupid, and ugly.....etc, etc. -
Nobody needs their so called "critical Patches" Windows 7 doesnt have any need for any such patches. If those types of patches were needed, they would have found them years ago, and microsofts "critical patches" tend to break perfectly functioning systems....aka windows 10. Whats needed for winodws 7 is continued driver support, but we know that wont happen. Windows 7 is actually fun to tweak, and customize....oh, and control myself without big brother MS ****ing things up.

That reminds me of how I got my 1080ti ftw3. EVGA was giving us a heads up in their forum of which models were getting ready to be stocked, and an approximate time. I had to sit on that product page, and F5 it until it showed up. Had to be fast with the credit card info....lol. This was when cryptodicking exploded, and regular Joes, couldnt get their hands on anything. -

The one and only local mom and pop shop here in town just closed its doors for good. They stayed in business all these years despite the likes of Newegg, or Amazon. The only reason they shut down, was because the kids had no interest in taking it over. Mark, the owner, I have known for years, started out selling atari 2600 consoles and games way back when. I think there is a market for Custom PC builders, but the economy right now would make me Leary of starting something up. -

So, I have been sleeping on it for a couple weeks, and ended up getting the X670E. I have never spent that kind of money for a motherboard before. I know these others have being on Intel platforms, as they have been gouged for some time now. I think I need to correct what the 6800xt card I picked up on ebay. I think I said it was a nitro, but its a pulse. Not sure what the difference is between the two. One is probably OC more than the other?
