Nearly everything gets a bad grade for pricing. https://www.techspot.com/bestof/gpu-2023/ -

I don't think it's inflation so much as it is greed. DDR ram isn't all that expensive, quality 8 and 12 core cpu's aren't too bad. SSD pricing isn't overwhelming. After being out of pc tech for 3 years, it's motherboards and gpu's that I've seen skyrocket in cost. When I left, you could get a top of the line AMD board for under $300, now they are 3 times that. -

If we could get the 🤡's to abstain from purchasing these cards at these ridiculous prices, that would be great. Edit: I'd buy a 4070Ti for $649 I'd also buy a 7900Xt for $699, and a 7900xtx for $799 -

I purchased a Agon/Aoc 32" 1440p 165Hz freesync curved monitor and love it. (found it on sale for $225 😄) My last build was the MSI 27" 144Hz freesync curved, and loved it too. I love the curved screen. It takes a bit to get used to, I wont go back to a flat panel again. -

I wouldnt pay $799 for a 4070Ti. That still seams kind of steep for a middle upper level card. Looks like they priced it right below the 7900xt at $899 msrp. Neither one of them are attractive at those prices. Hoping by spring sales will have slumped enough to get a good deal. -

I agree, having choices is a good thing. As I stated in an earlier post, choices are being removed in every aspect of our lives. We are truly living in the times of "The demolition man". Your only choices for take out are Taco Bell, beef is considered bad, and sex via a neuro link are just around the corner. -

Ive been addicted to hardware from the day I put that NVIDIA Riva tnt, and Sound blaster expansion cards in my 1997 E-Machines budget desktop that I paid $300 bucks for at Best Buy. Boasting a mind boggling Intel Celeron 266mhz cpu, and a 15" crt monitor. When I took it to Lan parties,(yes that was a thing) the guys had to throw memory, and video cards my way so that I could play Unreal tournament....Now I think of it as more of a hobby I guess. Its better than huffing gasoline rags, or smoking crack. Choose your addiction wisely my friends 😄 -

We live north from most people, so taking advantage when its cold is a good thing. Make sure the side is off of your case to allow a good amount of air flow in. I could get ~10c drop in gpu temps doing it this way. If you can get the temps down, you should be able to raise clock and voltage to a point where you couldnt before. -

You dont even really need to go outside. I live in Idaho, and I would open the window, and have a fan sucking in the cold air from outside. I would just close the door to my office, and let the temp drop. If you have a garage or shop, that might be a good way to go also. 😄 -

I purchased the pro version of Flashboot, and made many ISO's with it. I have not had much luck getting 7 installed using the ISO's it creates. Of course I was trying to install it on my class 3 HP probook. I had mouse and keyboard during install, but could not get past the call for the legacy vga driver at first boot. There is supposed to be some sort of emulation of the vga driver until you get your actual gpu driver installed, but it never worked for me. -

I will use my RX 6600xt until sometime next year, and see if the stupid prices come back to earth. Not in any hurry to buy a gpu yet. not at $1000. Stupid cryptodicks! -

You don't need to use a KB, you just need a Windows 7 iso with all the goodies integrated. I have many links to some ISO's that have nvme, usb 3, etc driver's already integrated. I will be using Windows 7 as the primary on my new build. -

Not a glitch by MS, they just want you to use their latest and greatest advertising platforms, AKA Windows 10, 11. Windows 7 is so much fun to customize. -

I honestly cannot remember the last time I bought a Windows License. I had MSDN access back in the day for Windows 7, so I have every version of it. I would never buy a license for the crap they put out now. Go to MDL for things like this? I know they are not very much on Kinguin, but I would hate myself if I bought a Windows 10 key.....I would feel like I supported their trash 😁 Thats a nice rig buddy! -

That's the reason most have left Asus, their horrible customer service, and crap QC. I haven't owned one for 10 years. There are too many other manufacturers that have better products IMO. I base my opinion on board quality and customer support combined. -

Have you tried anything but Asus? I have been done with them for quite some time. My go to choice for any MB is MSI. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Creator-TRX40 -

I cant find anywhere in the description about fitting AM5. https://www.newegg.com/arctic-liquid-cooling-system/p/13C-000P-000R4?Item=9SIA2W0GR42879 -

Right. The reason I was asking, was Newegg was out of stock of the 420 version, and was getting it from one of their partner sites. I cant see the package or the revision number. I sent them a message to see if it was AM5 compatible. Thanks Pap. -
Exactly, I've edited it using windows style builder. Only use curtains for the frames, then import my custom frame images. Pretty easy to do. I preferred aeroglass 8 by big muscle, but he disappeared 2 years ago.

@jaybee83I was thinking of picking up one of those Arctic Liquid Freezers for my new build, but the specs only show it fitting the AM4, and not the AM5?? Does it fit the new socket? Thanks. -
The theme started out as steelflash, a windows 7 theme. I've modified it heavily to make it mine. If you go to virtual customs, there are many themes that have been ported to work on windows 10.

Here is the Nvidia version, not as bad, but still ugly. https://www.newegg.com/yeston-geforce-rtx-3080-rtx3080-10g-d6x-ya/p/1FT-007N-00071?quicklink=true
