The broken ones were probably fighting wars in Ukraine

Yes!!! the old cards should be like RTX 5000 and lower, so trying to find out how many orders are being filled for the A4500 could give some insight on availability on the older cards moving to market!!! I dont mind being a step or 2 behind the Industry with deep pockets, their crumbs are sufficient!
-
Yeah but there are no products left
-
The A4500 embedded is not even listed on PNY website as being available. Are they selling ANY? Who has laptops to put them in? How could they sell 100 cards when they will not sell to the public? And whoever buys them will have to remove the old card and what, maybe the old cards like RTX 5000 will go to ebay?

[M17x R4] How to update NVIDIA driver for the GTX 980M
aldarxt replied to a topic in Alienware 17 and M17x
-Did you disable driver signature enforcement? Also watch @ssj92 video on inf modding, and if you might be interested there are quadro P4000 for $280 on ebay, I bought 2, 1 for my m17x r4 and 1 for m18x r2 and both work great with the triple heatsinks -
I would be more curious as to how many orders they are shipping out and who would be buying 100 cards at a time when they are being shipped in coffins!!!
-
Glad to hear it, helps with narrowing it down

What have you upgraded on your current laptop(s)?
aldarxt replied to Sandy Bridge's topic in Components & Upgrades
I guess this is where I'll start my issue, I upgraded my m17xr4, purchased in Feb 2022, !7-3630qm to I7-3940xm,GTX 660m to Quadro P4000, some mixed up ram to XMP2 Kingston 16GB (4x4GB) SO-DIMM 1866 MHz DDR3 , added 2TB samsung 960 EVO, triple pipe vapor chamber copper CPU heatsink, overclocked in BIOS to 45ghs and adjusted the fans. It does not overheat or throttle. My m18xr2 i7-3610qm to i7-3940xm, GTX 660m to GTX 970m SLI to Quadro P4000, 32g slow ram, 2 3.84TB intel DC S4610 SSD, 2TB barricuda HDD in DVD caddy and triple pipes for CPU and GPU and most recently a fat double pipe extreme for CPU but still overheating and throttling. The next upgrade is beginning to look like the Frankenmod on NBR. I need a vapor chamber copper heatsink for CPU i7-3940xm. I am looking to take the vapor chamber plate for the m17xr4, unsolder it and rout out space for m18xr2 triple pipes and solder them on. The triple pipe copper is $44 so it wont break the bank in case of failure. The soldering gives me the most worry, I may use a torch like when doing copper plumbing pipe, soldering iron wont cut it. But thats where I feel most confident. The difference between the m18xr2 and m17xr4 is enough to get the big beast back as the leader of the pack -
I dont think its a windows update issue. This started after swapping cards, gtx 1080 mxm to quadro P4000 mxm back and forth and getting impatient after trying so many driver installs and the 1080 kept failing. This was also trying to work it on 2 seperate win 10 installs on 2 seperate SSDs in the m18xr2 and then going to the m17xr4 with the GTX 1080 failing there to. Besides I just read on this forum "2022 LG Gram 16/17 announced" some great news @RS4 quote "Nope, still using Windows 10. There are no benefits of using Windows 11 for my use case instead there are regressions. I am also liking the fact that Windows 10 is limited to just security updates with no more big feature updates which break things." This is enough to have a BIG Celebration, in fact there should be a Parade!!! Besides the first install on m18xr2 is not my daily driver, the 2nd is so I dont have to deal with the Nvidia control panel problem much. I keep the other install as a fallback in case of windows update issues causing HAVOK
-
So I updated Nvidia drivers to latest Quadro and win 10 21H2 latest update and Nvidia Control Panel App not opening the panel bit the shortcut I pinned to start works just fine. This is only happening on one install of win 10 on the first SSD. The 2nd install on the 2nd SSD works just fine

Thats strange, when I first encountered it it was on, so I unchecked it and needed to restart, and its been off ever since And that was on both my m18x and m17x
-
I think that started in 512, because I was looking for it to get the extra memory out of it by disabling it. Dont know if there is any performance loss but it is supposed to help in studio application accuracy or something like that I dont do, I just want Max Performance even if it trips LOL
-
I am about to do DDU and update to 516.25, will report back!
-
I still get this, its on the same pc, m18xr2 but on my 1st ssd of win 10 21H2 the 2nd ssd, same 21H2 no problem

Pretty Cool, I wonder if my old floppydisk is in the Band!

I think previous threads on this forum about MXM is dead is correct. All this thin and light obsession by all the manufacturers has an underlying goal. It seems like a race to get thinner and lighter, throwing out to the public experiments to work out the bugs and profit at the same time. Once they get enough bugs out and the lightest most powerful design comes to the top all they have to do is add legs and the laptop can follow our phones on an electronic leash. This is the only thing make any sence to me. To give up on the MXM tech so abruptly and come out with backwards technology, reading about it everyday here on this forum, to see the confusion and disappointment leads me to believe we are the experiment to work out their bugs to move on to the robots. Just add legs to a laptop and its a robot

I'd like to know what the hospitals are going to mount on their COWs, rollable desks with docking stations that their laptops plug into they push into a patients room so they know who is alive or dead. The mxm type of laptop was durable enough for this job but these new slims dont seem up to the task. What could the hospitals be planning to do? I know, ROBOTS
-
I really hope this "Thin is in" is just a marketing trend to sell everything off the conveyerbelt to make some fast money!!! I can't see the military or medical field wanting these smart phones on steroids to do the jobs they do in hospitals and covert missions. I have to believe the Professional Industry will eventually need the most durable hardware they demand which when what they have now wears out... well... Then, well I guess they will get ROBOTS, I am pretty confident thats where everything is going

Go in to C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\NVIDIACorp.NVIDIAControlPanel_8.1.962.0_x64__56jybvy8sckqj and pin "nvcplui.exe" to start or just click it open. If it is the same problem I had It might be a corrupted driver. A clean install might fixit or it was a windows update. I had a problem like that on my other install of windows on another drive but not sure if I fixed it. bUT PINNED TO START OR TASKBAR made it work

I have to admit, I'm not impressed "Having an entire computer of this size and still being able to do basic and even advanced tasks", I have 5 Laptops 10yrs and 9yrs old all of which are Still able to do basic and advanced tasks that I want, need and demand them to do. If you mean advanced tasks I have no understanding of you need not explain, It would just be lost in translation. But I can do more with my laptops because I can add or subtract components as I like which you cannot do, you would need to replace or RMA which is likley to be replaced anyway. This trend of all manufacturers merging into 1 technologiclly similar and smaller is unacceptable. I feel like they are penning us in or corraled to the slaughter, forcing us to pay their retirement pensions!

Hey Creepy Hooded Guy, worried about being attacked? The IRS was hacked, NSA was hacked and maybe countless major corporations, Including Nvidia, I dont think we have anything to worry about, everything here is public and can be found on google, in fact thats how I found NBR, so you can come out of the shadows now

Hey Azther, can you tell kenny27 I am desperately in need of a 6 pipe vapor chamber CPU m18x r2 heat sink, they absolutely do not exist!!! Please if anyone wants to prove me wrong do not delay!!!
