finalized my escalation with ebay its being fully refunded instead managed to find a legit retailer selling a 2023 zephy duo 4080 for less than i can get a strix scar 16 so amd gang now will probably get some upsiren pro and replacement lim for it to tame the thermals Real question tho seems they didn't add conductonaut or any LM to the GPU any idea what would be an ideal insulated to prevent leaks if I did this. Pressure should be fine at least if I'm using siren

well wont be doing this anytime soon, either my power cap/fets went pop or my gpu mosfets went pop. also i did was load ratchet and clanks settings menu ingame with a safely undervolted cpu then got a nice keyboard flash and no longer boots. time for RMA or ebay return. although i would totally get the strix scar 17 if it had mini led, that screen is way too nice

yeah my 4080 on my rog strix scar 16 hits 175w peak. but honestly the real bottleneck is the thermal throttling and power limit of the 13980hx that things a beast in its own right, i am undervolting it already just to tame it slightly from stock the fact it gets 34400 in cinebench atm on my pc vs a guy i know with a 10900k getting 13.4k is kinda insane, wouldnt mind putting on upro and maybe some more liquid metal to tame try and improve its temps, although it is peak summer atm and abients are much higher here

wait what it can be shunt modded lmao also how was removing the cooler safely? i know that its liquid metal cooled, at least my scar 16 2017 is on both the 4080 and 13980hx wouldnt mind chaning the thermal pads for more cooling

I'm still using mine I bought used for like £800 end of 2016 as a Medion Erazer which was the rebrand of it I7-6700HQ / Core cache -140mv 32GB Ram, RGB Keyboard My Display runs at 90HZ oc from 75hz Ram set to 2400cl14 BAKED P65_67RSRP (U3E1) Bios 5TB HDD which is so larger to get a 2nd SSD to sit ontop of it I had to remove all its casing. 256 840 Pro stacked on it OEM samsung 256gb msata ssd OEM Samsung NVME 512gb boot drive (3500mbs read / writes ) New keyboard because the blue leds failed, same thing happened on the replacement over time. Using Obsidian Keyboard LED Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 Wifi 6 Card Battery was kaput within the first year so always on mains. (I actually have a replacement battery on way as we speak) replaced the DC end cable end of the charging brick as its contacts were worn The plastic coating on touchpad wore through so replaced it with carbon fibre vinyl. 2 screw mounts have snapped on underside thanks to 6 years of unscrewing and redoing paste/removing dust from grills. Overall its still my only pc and daily driver but still holds up solidly , it performs rapidly in all use cases. Only slog is video encoding and higher settings on latest games.
