It was a joke.. lol. I had to test them all again on my EVGA Z590 Dark. Which managed to finally give me some consistent data on each chip. I don’t think I could ever go for another Gigabyte motherboard again. Honestly, now I’m a MSI fan! Who would have thought that! 4 hours ago, Etern4l said: During a recent prosumer mobo purchase research it became clear it's either MSI or Asus these days. MSI won the argument on robustness, features, and memory stability (immediately evidenced by the max RAM speeds they officially support, in addition to supportive reviews). The main feature lacking is the frequently quoted SP rating lol, but then of course we have the Force 2 score to despair over 😉 Has worked a treat for me. 3 hours ago, Etern4l said: You pay a significant premium for this, so depending on the usage patterns realized reliability of MSI/Asus, the better customer care may or may not be worth it (for me EVGA was out right away with just one PCIe slot on the Kingpin). For a hardcore OCer likely to fry things, paying the premium might make sense (but such customers are generally terrible business for EVGA). At this point, the overall EVGA situation needs to be taken into account as well, unfortunately. Looks a bit like they are closing shop or scaling down significantly. No Z790 mobo for instance, their flagship PSU SuperNova T2 is marked as EOL by some retailers, no new model is advertised etc. MSI makes solid boards. I was highly impressed with my MSI Z490 and Z590 (which is now running in my son in law's system). EVGA, Asus and MSI are basically my go to board vendors now. EVGA has the Z790 Dark and classified coming up: https://www.evga.com/articles/01590/Introducing-the-EVGA-Z790/ They are still offering all their products, selling out of the rest of their 3000 series and just not making 4000 series cards. Nothing else has changed (unless I missed something?). Only way to know for sure is start replacing parts and see which one it is. Two previous 12900K could not run the DDR4 I had used for a couple of years across multiple ASUS and EVGA mobos before at 4500. I assumed it was the Strix mobo. Well, I was surprised that the 13900K and 12900KS are both able to run it totally stable at 4400 (because 4500 is apparently not valid on Z690-???). So, now I am running 4400 CL16-18-18-36-1T. The two 12900K CPUs I ran with it before had good SP ratings and overclocked DDR5 just fine, but they both totally sucked with DDR4 and couldn't handle more than 4000 stable. Talon
Currently working on 7800 CL36, basically XMP so shit timings. But damn for mostly plug and play this is not too shabby and crazy bandwidth. Going to try 8000 next. Edit: Both 7800 and 8000 work at 1.435v DRAM VDDQ/VDD, incredible. Unfortunately only 7800 will get long term stable so far. Ok I think I may love the Dark again. Holy hell. 8000 CL36 easy. Well It seems 8200 CL36 wants to have a go too. Not sure where it's going to stop just yet. I really need to go to bed. 8200 CL36 takes 1.455v VDD/VDDQ minimum as 8000 CL36 took that to run MSFS 2020 stable. So likely higher for gaming stability, etc. 3 4 1 Spoiler The Beast Asus Z790 APEX | Intel i9 13900K | ASUS RTX 4090 Strix OC | 64gb DDR5 7466 CL34 Dual Rank A-Dies | Samsung 990 Pro 2TB | Innocn 4K 160Hz Mini LED HDR1000 | LG 27GN950-B 4K 160Hz | Corsair 170i Elite LCD 420mm AIO | Corsair 7000D | EVGA 1600w T2 Little Beast EVGA Z690 DARK | Intel i9 13900K | Nvidia RTX 4090 FE | 32gb DDR5 SK Hynix DDR5 8000 CL36 A-Dies | Samsung 980 Pro 2TB | LG OLED C1 4K 120Hz G-Sync/FreeSync | Alienware AW2721D 1440p 240Hz G-Sync Ultimate | Corsair 115i Elite 280mm AIO | Lian Li 011 Dynamic | EVGA 1000w P6

tps3443
I decided to keep my 13900KF ECO model. I was tempted to ask like $1,000. But I’m attached to it. Plus, I would just have to go out and buy another one lol. I would be merely selling something just to sell something. Then spend more time and money potentially crying over another one LOL. And all the 13900KF’s are sold out until 11/8, which is what I’d be after if I had to buy another. I Blame @electrosoft for getting me all in to testing for low power consumption. 😄 5 1 13900KF

You can live with whatever you get as a replacement if that is how you use your systems. K or KF... whatever... as long as it is not a defective sample that sucks. Of course you can respond with "I am not sure if that is enough. Let me sleep on it and get back to you, because I am amazed at how good it is." Will you feel unhappy if the next CPU is not as good? What would you pay to avoid that? Another question: what price would you be happy to sell it at? Feels like $2k? Quote him. Remember people pay tens of thousands for CSGO knifes and millions for NFTs, i.e. basically pixels. 4 1 "We're rushing towards a cliff, but the closer we get, the more scenic the views are." -- Max Tegmark AI: Major Emerging Existential Threat To Humanity
