Hopefully we see some meaningful gaming gains with the 7800X3D.

I had a couple of those and I never saw spots like that. I can't say whether they are harmless or not.

Is that for your 8700k or a 9900k?

It's for my 8700k. It runs well at 4.5ghz all core @ 1.050 volts and my goal is to get around 5.1~5.2 all core.

LOOL, and thanks. There is still an major difference. A screen provide info, not pure bling bling show for entertainment as in a nightbar/strip show and not very useful with fans spinning in Red, blue or whatever colors.  More as you put on white paint on the  big letters on your car's tyres. This won't make your car run faster. And you can detach the screen and put it whatever place I want in the chassis or on top of it (magnets/stands on the back side). I don't need have to have it right in sight or connected to the GPU.

Want real bling bling. Maybe buy the card "What the F... version"😀

Today's AMD news. They are in media almost everyday now..... Maybe all news is good news for the brand?😎

AMD's Ryzen Master Has a High Severity Vulnerability, Update Available

AMD disclosed that its popular Ryzen Master software utility, which enables CPU monitoring and overclocking capabilities for its lineup of consumer processors, has a new vulnerability, ranked 7.2 (High), that could allow an attacker to assume complete control of the system. AMD has posted a new updated version of Ryzen Master for Windows 10 and Windows 11 that corrects the issue.

Yep, looks fun own a AMD system. Never a new day without you can spend it at your desktop and have some fun😀

AMD Graphics Drivers Automatically Removed By Windows Update (How To Fix)

6 January 2023 by Tristan Perry
Windows automatically deleted my AMD graphics card drivers

Over the past few months, my Windows PC has developed an annoying issue. Sometimes when I boot up, I launch a game or video editing program… and get hit by lag and performance stutters. I might just about get 1 FPS in Rocket League if I’m lucky! I then check Task Manager, and I notice

I've upgraded both of my AMD 6000 series GPU rigs to the latest graphic drivers, with no problem. I even let the rig with the 6900XT do a full factory reset within the driver upgrade, it rebooted fine. I am unsure why some people are having issues with it, unless AMD changed something in the driver installer the past day or so.

Thanks for the update about the vulnerability with Ryzen Master. I didn't know there was an update.

I noticed these odd spots on the die side of the IHS. I'm assuming they are fine, but do they indicate anything bad or are they just a byproduct of how these IHSs are milled?

This is the way it's milled. Nothing to worry about.

Almost all his scores are low with his HOF card.....

Not sure what's up. But isn't this around what to expect from stock performance? But clocks doesn't match

that. And he is an LN"2 boy, so... Weird. Could be a really bad sample, who knows.

Yep, but 15% less performance in multi threaded workload is quite a bit lower than expected.

Update 02/16/2023 02:00 p.m.  Forum »

AMD has now provided a new installer for the Adrenalin 23.2.1 that is around 181 kilobytes larger, with which the problem mentioned no longer appears to appear. The download on ComputerBase has also been updated accordingly.

https://www.computerbase.de/2023-02/amd-adrenalin-23-2-1-whql-treiber-fuer-radeon-rx-7000-und-rx-6000-liefert-mehr-fps/

Yep, AMD didn't want to talk what was wrong. And they did something similar when they throw out the CPU overclock for their audience with graphics drivers a few months ago.

Can't really remember the stock scores but even an sligth OC should provide better results (If not the clocks drop). And he bench more than GPU on LN2. Could be he forgot change cooling under subs of course.

Slight over clock? All his scores are over clocked.

Even LOD didn't help him....

Maybe his sample is trash?

Even with high over clock and high average....

But memory over clock is low.

With slight overclock I said you should be able reach his results. But his results doesn't really match the high clocks he posting with if not there is something wrong. Not sure how correct Futuremark measure but his average is 3130+ and that should provide better results. Either something wrong with the HW, or he doing something wrong. With terrible bin you won't reach 3130 + on average. Most cards if I remember correct don't do that. They are below 3100.

Put it this way... I don't think bad bin cards can reach an average above 3130.  But what I see is lower than expect vram clock speed..

What im saying is slight over clock, should not be able to catch him as he should be up near the top. So either ECC is exposing these people or certain peoples bags of tricks are coming to an end. I think I like ECC on now.

Side note:

You can use CTRL-F and set you clocks. Doing this keeps the clocks pretty close to average, but doing so can lower scores.

Edit:

Exactly. Lower vram means bad card. If that is in fact the case.

Edit: MSI Afterburner Memory over Clock

ZippyTek is from Egypt. Unless he is running his stuff inside of a meat locker probably everything is thermal throttled, LOL. That, or his HOF card wasn't a winner in the silicon lottery. I suspect there are some that are not.

Bro Fox. You remember I struggled to get the better 4090 Asus cards as the Strix OC? Maybe Asus lacks cards to sell as I have mentioned before. Because Nvidia want that you instead buy their 4080. Just rumors but it fits damn well with how difficult it is to buy a 4090 Strix OC. Lack of good enough binned chips for their best cards probably forced Asus to throw in the remining lower end 4090 silicon into their cheaper 4090 cards. In short Nvidia try to stop the supply with 4090 chips. And I'm sure Nvidia don't want that the creators buy their 4090 instead for the more expensive RTX 6000 ADA. Limiting supply of 4090 makes sense in their screwed up head/world.

Why pay $6,800 for content creations if you can buy the 4090 at $1,600 or even a custom AIC card at $2000?

I think EVGA is happy they got rid of Nvidia and their awful trickery and shenigans.

Only the 4090 have been near a succsess. Rest of the 4000 series launch have been a huge fiasco. Started with the 4080@10GB rip-off,
then followed up with the same 4080 scam but in 4070 Ti clothes at massive premium. When will they be able to see it themself?

I'm about to go to sleep, and decided it was a good time to the delid. Everything went okay I think besides the LM application... I still suck with that stuff. Hopefully I didn't break anything, but I did feel like I used a bit too much LM. I already have PTSD from it after seeing what happened to my 4930mx...

And finally, from my own eyes, I was finally able to see why you guys call that garbage under the stock IHS toothpaste. It really looks terrible!

Right before I got this SuprimX I was trying to grab a 4090 Strix, but from what they said at MC. All 15 cards were bad. And they knew this because they tested all 15 cards. I mentioned this a while back. And the only way they could have known something was wrong was either Asus gave them a heads up or people brought a bunch of cards back. I may ask about that when I hit the Center in the next few days.

thats not too much if anything your application there is bit on the "dry" side for my personal taste,

I prefer the "pool" effect on both sides or at least the silicon side, when I say pool I don't mean overdo it just to make sure that  there's enough LM so the entire surface acts like a single surface mirror with no craters so it looks almost like a single mirror surface, when you touch the center there should be enough LM so the covered surface remains unified, its a fine line between getting a unified LM surface and overdoing,

if you are protecting the area around the cpu you should have no concerns even when overdoing, the  thing about LM is not how much you apply its that it runs when hot and can get around and short other components,

I got the CPU back in, and wow. Temperatures are so much better. I can actually run this thing at 4.8ghz+ without having to worry about it nearing 95C. I'm still adjusting clocks and voltages as I type this, and I plan on trying to set the static voltage in the BIOS later today. I can run a static voltage with TS, but every time I set it that way in the BIOS, I've needed to remove the CMOS battery as that seemingly bricks the thing. I am a bit hopeful as the few times I've tried to set a static voltage in the BIOS, they were at higher than normal voltages with the cache voltages adjusted too. I'll try just doing the Core voltage and see if that works. Hopefully nothing goes wrong as I don't want to tear this thing apart again lol.

Testing of fits/pressure from Custom Rockit Lid

@Tenoroon Did you bake in the liquid metal?

I probably should have done this. I didn't use very much gasket sealant (four small blobs on the corners), so I can always re-delid if I notice temps rising significantly over time. If I ever re-delid, I'll make sure to use this guide. If only I had it last night lol. Thanks for sending it!

Maye bro @Vasudev can add it in first page for his thread

Which Thermal Paste to buy and apply (Traditional and Liquid Metal)

Make an easy title... How to use... Liquid metal (with or without Intel IHS). Just use my Imgur album.

Everything comes to PC now, but it sure feels like there's something wrong with practically every major release.

Edit. A very interesting video...

This one is also interesting. Almost as Der8auer say their high end paste as Kryonaut don't have long time stability. Well known that Kryonaut thermal paste won't last long. From  7:59

30 usd for an sli cable may seem high but the gtx 280's were free.

Should hopefully get some gtx 690 SLI this weekend. No idea if 280's will play nice with windows 10 lol

They work fine on Windows 10 😄
