Does it exhibit the same behaviors at complete stock? It might be buggy (wouldn't be the first time) or it might be rooting out mild little instabilities in overclocks somewhere.

I not sure. I literally never run the CPU stock so I haven't. I suspect it would. I doubt that passing Cinebench R23, Y-Cruncher and what-not that there is an instability in the overclock.

Still 50$ too expensive. Is this the answer from Nvidia to Radeon 7800XT? Nvidia can't burn in with loads of the low/mid end chips. They can't be used for AI and need to go out from their shelves. Same with the 4060/4060Ti chips. Remember Nvidia struggle with delivering of AI chips due their packaging problems that will last until middle 2025. So they still need the sales of gamer cards. At least the AI bonza don't destroy for the  gamer Jockey's in nearest time. Some of them screw it up for themself😬

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPUs have seen their price drop in the US to $549

Read more: https://www.tweaktown.com/news/93299/nvidia-geforce-rtx-4070-gpus-have-seen-their-price-drop-in-the-us-to-549/index.html

In a statement supplied to Wccftech, NVIDIA PR notes, "Today, the GeForce RTX 4070 is widely available from just $549," citing brands like ASUS, GIGABYTE, and MSI. "This is a great choice for gamers looking to upgrade for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and other upcoming DLSS 3.5 titles, such as Alan Wake 2, at 1440p," the statement continues.

Edit. GeForce RTX 4070 vs. Radeon RX 7800 XT techspot.com | September 13, 2023

Summary: 😁

It's worth mentioning, we also encountered stability issues with the Radeon 7800 XT, with frequent crashes in F1 23 using the high preset, which is odd as "ultra high" seemed to work fine.

Cyberpunk 2077 also proved unstable, especially with ray tracing. It's challenging to determine whether this was an isolated issue or related to the current driver. We did spend several hours trying to solve the issue without success, and interestingly the Radeon 7900 XT didn't exhibit these stability concerns, leading us to believe that the issue might be linked to the 7800 XT's initial driver release.

Hmmmm. @Mr. Fox

just stumbled upon a pretty impressive interview with uncle Jensen:

https://www.tomshardware.com/news/nvidia-ceo-shares-management-style-always-learn-make-no-plans

I was positively surprised to see how he manages Nvidia and fosters continuous improvement, as well as keeping flat hierarchies and asking for input from all company levels. On the other hand, looking at Nvidia's history, with this kind of flexible management style its actually no wonder theyve been so far ahead for decades now. Basically start-up mentality inside a bigass conglomerate, pretty cool stuff!

Analyzing Starfield’s Performance on Nvidia’s 4090 and AMD’s 7900 XTX

ChipsAndCheese took a good look at the game's performance on both manufacturers' current flagship cards, RTX 4090 and RX 7900 XTX, highlighting how AMD's card provides better performance at all resolutions, although the gap gets narrower at higher resolutions......

In summary there’s no single explanation for RDNA 3’s relative overperformance in Starfield. Higher occupancy and higher L2 bandwidth both play a role, as does RDNA 3’s higher frontend clock. However, there’s really nothing wrong with Nvidia’s performance in this game, as some comments around the internet might suggest. Lower utilization is by design in Nvidia’s architecture.

Looks like well get the first game where a 8 core CPU will not be enough anymore. also check the cooling 😄

That is almost the worst tech advice i've ever heard... 🤣

Idk its a marketing thing but he mentions nothing about the game settings, resolution, nor having RT enabled that would use 90% of a 8 core CPU. Game articles are running the same crap suggesting users to run cinebench for their PCs 😂.

Glad the update is going to have better CPU utilization instead of using mods for it.

When I saw how huge these boxes were, I was expecting them to be heavy. The box with the TG weighs a bit more, but still surprised the crap out of me on how lightweight they are. Building starts soon.

Haha..8 core cpus will not be obsolete for a while. I run mine at 2.2ghz and have yet to run a game needing more cpu power/speed to get 4k.60 or 1080p.120

Actually you never know considering every game is a ps5 or xsx port. All we get is leftovers

It’s really not bad at all. It’s definitely fast enough for smooth 4K gaming. Really makes me serious about waiting to upgrade.

I have never been able to get stable clocks like this on this card before. 2,250 in game and at 4K? Lol. It’s really strange. Not sure what has changed 🤷‍♂️

Obviously a 4090 smacks this thing around. But, I’m okay with that.

More bang for your buck..3090 is sorta mid range and the longer you hang onto it the more value you get..I have had this 3060 for 2 years but unfortunately it's not able to do 4k60 with new games. But it's not it's raw power that unsettles me it is the extreme lag from a vram bottleneck..6gb just isn't enough. I'd be happy if it had 12gb I'd be able to squeeze 2 more years out of it but now I think it's time to upgrade

And here's very good news for Nvidia😄 ASUS Readies A Flood of Custom Radeon RX 7800 XT & RX 7700 XT GPUs

ASUS has plans to go all out with AMD's Navi 32 GPUs as the company has listed 64 variants under the Radeon RX 7800 XT & RX 7700 XT lineup.

Yup... You can't make any AI chips for the AI bonza from castrated 4060/4060Ti or 4070 chips. And I guess Nvidia also have a flood of them🙂 And quite a few gamer kids have seen that the AMD Radeon cards is prefered for Starfield for now. Hmm... I wonder when Nvidia start push the 4070 prices closer to 500$ price target. Will it be before or after Christmas holidays? And what with the prices for the bus and mem crippled 4060 and 4060Ti ?

People that buy GPUs like these don't and shouldn't care about whether it is the fastest of the crappy class. At the $500-$600 price range it's going to be a sucky compromise compared against anything because the class is built on that as a foundation. They should just be happy they got something cheap because it wasn't good enough for enthusiasts. If it puts an image on the screen and plays games smoothly using medium and low quality settings that's what they paid for. There is no reason to show any concern one way or the other. It's a cheap product. Que sera sera.

People do modify the 3060 laptops and solder 12GB of vram to them. 🙂 You could probably get that done.

As for mid range graphics cards they do offer a good bang for buck, the 3090 was the opposite of a “Bang for Buck” though 😂 When I bought it in 2021, I spent about $2,500 bucks on the GPU and the waterblock (This was a good deal during this time

period of GPU pandemic though with normal retail pricing) High end PC parts are just depreciating assets after all. But you can upgrade less often with top shelf parts, having 24GB of vram seemed so crazy and overkill back in 2021 or even 2022 but now that we are in late 2023 it’s really cool. I’m just in no rush to spend even more money all just to play video games. I had a few lucky opportunities this year to get a 4090, unfortunately during those periods I had zero interest in PC parts. I was too intrigued by my other hobby which is Guns and suppressors. 🙂

WOW! Not another AGP TO PCI-E moment…. Right now any and all graphics cards can fit in practically any motherboard/CPU combo available. And if this is true, here comes a stab in the ribs that is about to force all current production motherboards incompatible with those new “Power plug free” graphics cards. Hopefully that is not the case.

Freedom of choice is nice, even if someone has a i7 7700K and wants to run a RTX4080 on it lol.

See post #9😵

Read.... From the videocardz article. "Reviewers may soon face a dilemma when determining which graphics card has the most charming appeal".

Maybe we are too old?😁 The charming appeal will soon be much more important then how the products functioning or works. In short.... Same as for modern laptops.

Yup. The end is near. Once asus have tested out their new stupidity in China... It will come to the rest of the world @Talon And all other hardware manufacturer brands will follow Asus.

If you pay any attention to technology news, particularly on this site, you may recall reading about ASUS' interesting power-delivery experiment one of the few times we've reported on it before. If you didn't read those stories, or don't recall, we'll recap: ASUS is about to start selling motherboards with.... Yep, the future looks damn dark.

They should focus on calling out the most disgusting, unacceptable garbage and stop pretending there is importance to stupid things like whether it is cute or charming. I mean, like, who gives a flying you know what about what they think. It either looks like a normal GPU or it looks like crap. There's no middle ground. Only varying degrees of ugly trash. Maybe the novelty of exalting performance above all else and calling balls and strikes on ugly trash is too hateful or Machiavellian.

Changing the subject... two things.

First... What is in the box under the crocs, brother? Did you show us?

Second... On a positive note, Brother Martin is doing another much-needed annoyance fix for HWiNFO64. I'm glad I asked. This will make me very happy because the feature that needs to be muted sucks.

I think the review editors on reviews sites sinking lower and lower. They look on things that's not important for the products they review. And the consumers will eat everything with their eyes.

1th. Say hello to Asus ROG 1070 Strix OC. My older 1070 died so I had to replace it with a new old for the GPU collection. I enjoy old hardware and you even can use for gaming. I don't need the new and shiny games as etc Starfield. Regarding this new game.. Looked on my sons gaming of mentioned game. He is not impressed of the game and textures (how it looks). Neither is me. So new doesn't always mean better 😀

The card looks as in good shape. Haven't tried it but I expect it will work.

Yep, I have class, LOOL

Hope you do an better cleaning job with your pc, HaHa

You can easly see how much bigger the 4090 is vs the 1070 Stix if you look at the missing PCIe brackets. And the Asus 1070 Strix are in same size and with same cooling as for the 1080Ti  Strix. The older gaming flagship from Nvidia. Looks more like a baby card in the chassis.

Hmmm. What can be in the box with the nice shiny all black crocs on top bro @electrosoft 😬 Could it be a ROG Strix OC or could it be an empty greyish package?🤔

I was hoping it contained a pair of anti-crocs to consume the crocs.....

Apparently it did not contain the anti-crocs as I so hoped for, but at least it contained some hardware goodies.  😁
