Thats still hot. But if you can keep temp below 24-25C inside with an AC unit it helps a lot. I feel the problems come if the indoor temp start passing 26-27C. If its above 30C inside I start to have some real problems. Now in the night I have 25C innside with the windows up and 20.5C outside. 25C inside is okish to sit in but more difficult if you try sleep in the nights. As it is now... Difficult to sleep well. Temp in the nights should be more like 20-22C then it would be easier to come in sleep.

I may buy an heatpump for the fall/winter. This way I can have both the heat capacity in the winters (in combination with wood oven/oven as well have the aircondition funtionality the few weeks I need it in the summer. A heatpump isn't enough when the cold start... You need woodoven also. Middle Norway and further North and a heatpump ain't enough to heat up houses. They are only effecive from zero to 10 minus. But I really need that AC functionality now, HaHa

It cost around $2500-2800 but I will save some money on the heat functionality in the winters. I mean it will offer 3.5 times more heat for same amount money for each KW/h. So after 8 years it may pay off. Same time save my life in the summer 🙂

I'll order an heat/cooling pump tomorrow. Companies have been home to offer what they have. It will be this one below.... Mitsubishi Uwano 7000 - $3,256.69 United States Dollar incluuded mounting and taxes. So I'll get AC next summer🙂 With  minus 15C here home it will give 5.3 times the energy ithe pump will use. After a few years the eletrical price will pay of the pump. After 5-8 years I'll get profits back from it. The pump living life is around 13-15 years.

I want me a fancy new A/C system too. Mine is crap, it consumes far too much energy based on my power bill. During the summer months it runs 24/7 and for about 110 days straight. While only managing to keep my house to 78F inside if I’m lucky. Some days it reaches 80F inside the home. This was primarily why I went with chilled water for my PC.

@Mr. Fox

I reassembled my 3090KP, and it leaked around terminal a little bit. I had to custom fab my own O-rings and, I guess they didn’t work. But, it could also be installation error.

I reassembled this before around 2022, and it was perfect! No leaks first try. I think I may have tightened terminal block screws too snug. @johnksss I remember you mentioned something about this before, an assembly step you did or something. I am honestly surprised it leaked, I was so careful. I even used O-Ring lubrication. I can do a suction test, and it’s air freakin tight! I have a leak tester out for delivery right now, I’ll report back what it says.

I called EVGA, and they cannot obtain those terminal O-Rings. Discontinued, sold out, no more coming in.

I appreciate the help.

Got a nice night session in of some desktop cleanup and benches along with tuning my Raptor X15 and corrupting my W11 install pushing it too hard on UV cache with the delidded copper topped 12900k 🤣 Finally passed out at 5am.

Newest MSI x670e Carbon BIOS with the 7800X3D. Some basic runs w/ Windows 11 for baseline before a clean install. GPU at stock. CPU = CO @ -30 AC, +25mhz enhancement (!), tuned 6000 A-die.

Timespy must have a bug because it said my 7800X3D under the CPU test momentarily hit 6.2ghz. 🤣

It seems only an RMA and money can can fix it (if they have spare parts and you didn't open up the block). Sad EVGA don't make spare parts for such an expensive block.... Look on post before this one. In short... You are screwed if you can't fix it yourself.

True, you might hope to find an Optimus block (good luck) or get a Bykski or Shyrrik which seem to be readily available for your KP 3090 @tps3443

I SEALED IT!!!! 🤯🤯🤯😱😱😱 1st try.

I didn’t have a leak tester before, and I was not tackling this without one, I bought one on Amazon last night, and had it by this afternoon 🙂. Well, now I got me one and they are amazing. I did over 1 Bar for 30 minutes, then I backed it down to between 0.50 and 0.75 Bar and I will let it rest for some hours and make sure no leaks.

Before tear down, when I hooked up the Barrow tester for the very first time, to just confirm a leak and where it was at. It was HISSING like a beast.  Dropping from 1 Bar to 0 Bar in a matter of 2-2.5 seconds or less.

The last pic is a JOKE. 😂

Oh wow, I wonder when those were released? I never would have sold my beloved Kingpin card had those been available at the time I sold it.   💔  After my last block cleaning and repaste that was timed strategically with the sale, that was the primary driver. I intended for it to be the last time and felt compelled to sell it before a problem developed with a leaking waterblock. I didn't want an unserviceable paperweight, or be put in the position of having to use the stock AIO. It is a major bummer that those were not available, or I didn't know about them. I would have purchased the Bykski block to replace the Hydro Copper block the moment I spotted it. 💔

but heres another beautiful future to dream about: away with resterization and ray tracing, full on neural rendering with "DLSS 10" 😄

in theory pretty cool, i mean u can basically "make up" the game as u go along (integrated chatgpt letting u "wish" stuff into existence lulz), but, OF COURSE, NGreedia would put all this behind a proprietary paywall and BEST cloud based so that you own NOTHING. yay, lets go!

That would be worth looking into, for sure.

So, wasn't really looking for it, but I snagged a brand new in-box (very rough box, LOL) Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL for $77 yesterday from a local online auction that sells items with damaged packaging or minor blemishes. I picked it up from their warehouse a few miles up the road after work yesterday.

I have no use for it, but it was too cheap to ignore at that price. Now I need to decided if I want to keep it or sell it for a profit. It's white, which isn't my favorite, but it would look nice with the Z790 Apex inside of it.

I actually figured out what causes the terminal to leak. And it’s us assembling the waterblock and missing a critical and very simple step that is common sense 😂. And that is the alignment of the plexi top and the copper block, these two are totally flush and sit together and the terminal will rest on the edge of both flats of these. The terminal bolts to the top plexi portion first, and the O-Rings will seal around the inlet/outlet on the plexi top only, if the copper base is poking out a tiny amount (Almost like an overbite from the copper base lol) it will cause the terminal to be tightened down at an angle. If you don’t align these top and bottom two parts totally flush, or maybe even allow the copper piece to have a small underbite then it’s gonna leak. It’s easy to reassemble the block where the copper sticks out just a papers thickness amount more than the plexi, which will cause the terminal to lift off of the inlet/outlet on the plexi, If it does it is going to be tilted and it’s going to leak.

Anyways, I thought about that Bykski block,  or maybe just the back plate lol. But, this kingpin block works really really good.

Any reason you should trade your 3rd DP port for a second HDMI port? Maybe the change for the 3rd port will be screwed up if you cross-flash. How many of the 4000 series cards have 2xHDMI and 2xDP ports?

Why couldn't MSI rather spend their time make Lightning cards than this butter on pork?

MSI Readies GeForce RTX 40-series Ventus 3X E Graphics Cards

MSI is ready with a new line of cost-effective custom-design GeForce RTX 40-series "Ada" graphics cards, dubbed the Ventus 3X E-series, where the letter E denotes "essentials." According to Hassan Mujtaba from Wccftech, these cards are characterized by certain structural improvements, and for certain models, a different set of display outputs than the regular Ventus 3X series. While the current Ventus 3X series sticks to the NVIDIA baseline spec, with three DisplayPorts and one HDMI, some of the new Ventus 3X E-series comes with two DisplayPorts and two HDMI connectors instead of one.

MSI is planning to Ventus 3X E-series SKUs based on the GeForce RTX 4070, the RTX 4070 Ti, and the RTX 4090. There are SKUs that stick to NVIDIA reference clock speeds and are priced at the NVIDIA MSRP; while their OC sub-variants come with a minor factory overclock. What's important to note here, is that the "E" brand extension isn't part of the Ventus 3X brand itself, and as such, the box art for these new cards is indistinguishable from the older Ventus 3X cards. You need to pay attention to the long-form model number printed near the barcodes, which has "E" or "E1" printed next to "Ventus 3X."

Nope. I hate it when one AIB partner does something stupid/different than the rest with things like ports. The standard is 3 DP and 1 HDMI and they should all stick to that. I use all three of my DP ports so that would screw things up. In the past I have tried to use both types of ports in a multi-display setup and the color and brightness never matches 100%.

According to Hassan Mujtaba from Wccftech, these cards are characterized by certain structural improvements, and for certain models, a different set of display outputs than the regular Ventus 3X series.

They probably figure if you spend 2 grand on a GPU, you have 10-15 USD to spend on an adapter if you want it.

Im glad my 3090 still carries my games, I have no problem spending money on other stuff that I probably shouldnt be spending on anyways.

I miss the days when board partners would do something cool, like the 4850X2 or the GTX 460 2WIN and lastly the Wireless GTX 460. I know that the suppliers (AMD/Nvidia) are mostly to blame for that though.

ha, u beat me to the punch, wanted to post the same @HMScott 😄

but heres another beautiful future to dream about: away with resterization and ray tracing, full on neural rendering with "DLSS 10" 😄

https://www.tomshardware.com/news/nvidia-hints-at-dlss-10-delivering-full-neural-rendering-potentially-replacing-rasterization-and-ray-tracing

in theory pretty cool, i mean u can basically "make up" the game as u go along (integrated chatgpt letting u "wish" stuff into existence lulz), but, OF COURSE, NGreedia would put all this behind a proprietary paywall and BEST cloud based so that you own NOTHING. yay, lets go!

LOL, after the "big reveal" of @HMScott, I figured it was a nice nugget to drop. 🤣

If...*IF*... Nvidia can harness AI and use it to assist or flat out replace traditional rendering techniques and produce equal or better results both in image quality and fps, I'm all for it. It is up to the rest of the industry to equal or best Nvidia with current and potential future AI rendering technologies using their traditional techniques along with RT and XESS/FSR or concede and implement their own AI driven technology. AMD is shifting to ML and AI focus as they can see the writing on the wall for pre-existing rapidly emerging industries and that may include traditional gaming and rendering down the road.

Nice. Intel in Microsoft's pocket.... Microsoft try everything to push you over on the latest and greatest. How much did they pay Intel? Maybe payback time because Microsoft pushed harder HW requirements for Win 11? Right in time before new motherboards come with Wi-Fi 7 support. Nice, Microsoft and it's partners deviver. Always on schedule.

Windows 10 won't support the blistering new Wi-Fi 7

Windows 10 is still the most used operating system, but it won't support the next-gen Wi-Fi 7 technology.

In this context, Netgear stresses that Microsoft has indicated that it will not backport 6 GHz support to Windows 10. So even if you have a 6 GHz-capable network adapter installed in your computer, if your PC is using Windows 10, you will not be able to use 6 GHz Wi-Fi until you upgrade to Windows 11.

In other words, since Windows 10 doesn’t support the 6 GHz frequency band, but 6 GHz is mandatory for Wi-Fi 7, Windows 10 can’t handle Wi-Fi 7

Deliberate. Just like the previous lies. Windows 7 doesn't support DX12, rebar, pure UEFI, WiFi 6, Intel HD Graphics, Ray Tracing... all absolute and unadulterated lies and bull crap. They don't ALLOW it because they must control and force their agenda. Poo-poo cah-cah. That's why Linux is the better solution, even when it isn't the best solution. Proprietary Nazi crap.

That's an excellent deal. I was going to pick up another (original XL) because of the SATA backplane, but the prices for it are still quite high.

Wow. So much for the last OS from Microsoft.

Even then mpcie probably still has enough bandwidth to handle wifi 7 at typical use cases.

Yeah, that is really dirty pool these scumbags are playing. The have chosen to withhold support for it in an effort to twist peoples' arms into adopting their latest piece of trash OS. They can drop dead and [insert your expletives of choice]. I can't think of any words that are nasty or vile enough to express the level of contempt and disrespect I have for Apple and Microsoft. I literally hate both companies and wish both would go bankrupt, cease operations and leave the world in a spot of having to choose which Linux distro to install to continue using their PCs and Macs.

They have to do it this way. Because only 23% want Win 11 or the latest and greatest. Desktop Windows Version Market Share Worldwid

And if you look at the graph in the link... Win11 have lost 0.5% of the users from July to Aug😆 And Win10 have increased in popularity. So new/newer has to be better @ryan

Todays news about CM adapters. Let'm come....... Still many bling bling lovers that use them. Only 4 today. Still no record.

Well, it's going back. I opened the box after work today to look it over. It's actually gorgeous and I am far more impressed than I expected to be. Even though it is white and I prefer black, it looks amazing. HOWEVER, it is not as advertised. It's not new. I could ignore that. It is not without damage. There are some minor scratches on edges of panels and a small and inconspicuous dent in the lower rear corner of the removable back panel. For $77 I could even forgive that. The blemishes are so minor I wouldn't make a fuss over it unless I had paid retail.

What I can't accept is the fact that none of the hardware is included. The rear SSD bar behind he mobo tray is missing. All of the removable SSD inserts at the front side area where a radiator can be mounted vertically are missing. None of the included accessory parts, screws or standoffs are there. Thankfully, Nellis Auction has a 7-day hassle-free return policy. Bummer.

So, I am only out the gasoline for the 25-minute drive each way. Could be worse. I do not believe it was intentionally misrepresented. The people that inspect and photograph the items to go on auction are probably not the sharpest tool(s) in the shed, and I doubt they would know what should be included or how to identify what is missing. To a novice that knows little or nothing about computers, it would look new/complete.

Nope. I hate it when one AIB partner does something stupid/different than the rest with things like ports. The standard is 3 DP and 1 HDMI and they should all stick to that. I use all three of my DP ports so that would screw things up. In the past I have tried to use both types of ports in a multi-display setup and the color and brightness never matches 100%.

plus this makes crossflashing of vbios versions more annoying. different port configs mean that u might end up with one of the gpu ports not working...super unnecessary!
