I love that NH55 (especially now with the BIOS unlocking), but the screen size is the only negative on it. No 18 inch version announced. However Prema confirmed to me that it has a TB4 port wired to the iGPU. That makes it much better in a docked situation as it can be run with no apps on the dGPU, then simply be unplugged and taken for a meeting without needing to reboot or otherwise try to take steps to get the Nvidia GPU to sleep which can be complicated if it booted while set as the primary display. With that model I would have to swap the QHD+ panel to a FHD+ 165hz as well so it would be usable at 100% scaling. 2 Desktop - Xeon W7-2495X, 64GB DDR5-6400 C32 ECC, 800GB Optane P5800X, MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC, Corsair HX1500i, Fractal Define 7 XL, Asus W790E-SAGE SE, Windows 10 Pro 22H2 Clevo PE60SNE - 14900HX, 32GB DDR5-5600 CL40, 4TB WD SN850X, RTX 4070 mobile, 16.0 inch FHD+ 165hz, System76 open source firmware, Windows 10 Pro 22H2

I’m going to look in to that machine. Something about the MSI Titan GT77 and Titan 18 HX really just does it for me though, especially the new up coming MSI Titan 18 with that dragon paint on it, man call me cheesy, but that machine is gorgeous to me for some reason. I really like MSI products. lol. Tuning aside, the big Titan laptops just look purely awesome. I’d feel better paying like 3K for it though seeing how it’s a last gen 4090 machine lol. At this rate of how long it takes to get a desktop 5090 GPU, I’ll be able to just pay scalper prices for one with the money I keep saving😂 (Kidding I’d never do that) 36 minutes ago, electrosoft said: Are they doing an 18" version? 16 inch makes it DOA for myself. Asus has bumped their 5090 machines to 4K and 4200+ prices I think 😬 I almost feel like if I’m spending this much on a GPU only, I could splurge a little and just go for a whole 5090 laptop. Not nearly as fast as a 5090 desktop, but I already have a 4090 after all. So I’m considering a high end laptop to play with. 1 13900KF

At this rate of how long it takes to get a desktop 5090 GPU, I’ll be able to just pay scalper prices for one with the money I keep saving😂 (Kidding I’d never do that) The new Titan will be better in that regard as its only going to have two SODIMM slots so it can keep up with the Tongfang model hopefully. They still are not a great value though. Nobody would be paying 4k-6k for a 285K + 5080 system. 1 Desktop - Xeon W7-2495X, 64GB DDR5-6400 C32 ECC, 800GB Optane P5800X, MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC, Corsair HX1500i, Fractal Define 7 XL, Asus W790E-SAGE SE, Windows 10 Pro 22H2 Clevo PE60SNE - 14900HX, 32GB DDR5-5600 CL40, 4TB WD SN850X, RTX 4070 mobile, 16.0 inch FHD+ 165hz, System76 open source firmware, Windows 10 Pro 22H2

They are all universally disgusting to me. Even if they all went back to MXM, thick and heavy all-metal chassis, 18-20 inch screens and desktop CPUs and 1000W PSUs they require too many compromises that I am unwilling to accept. That's a chapter of life where I have closed the book, wrapped it up in duct tape, thrown into the incinerator and flushed the ashes down the toilet. 18 minutes ago, Papusan said: Disgusting. @Mr. Fox and @Papusan sitting on their porch, shaking their canes in anger and telling modern laptops to GET OFF THEIR LAWN!! 🤣 5 Electrosoft Alpha: SP109 14900KS 59/46/50 | Asrock Z790i Lightning | Nvidia RTX 5080 FE| AC LF II 420 | TG 2x24GB 8200 | Samsung 990 Pro 2TB | EVGA 1600w P2 | Phanteks Ethroo Pro | Alienware AW3225QF 32" OLED Ellectrosoft Beta: Eurocom X15 Raptor | i9-12900k | Nvidia RTX 3070ti | HyperX 3200 CL20 32GB | Samsung 990 2TB | 15.6" 144hz | Wifi 6E Heath: i9-12900k | EVGA CLC 280 | Asus Strix Z690 D4 | Asus Strix 3080 | 32GB DDR4 2x16GB B-Die 4000 | WD Black SN850 512GB | EVGA DG-77 | Samsung G7 32" 144hz 32" My for sale items on eBay. I'm sure the owners of Intel LGA 1851 platform will appreciate a refresh from Intel with more tops (improved NPU) and maybe a 100MHz clock speed bump up. A small refresh is better than nothing before Intel swap over to a new platform? So enjoy improved TOPS. Now you can finally say your desktop is an real Microsoft Copilot+ PC. Recall (preview) starting early 2025. A lot to look forward to going with the Intel refresh for Arrow lake. This "TOPS" everything you could expect or hope for. Intel Reportedly Considering Resurrection of "Arrow Lake Refresh" Processor Family Today, 17:52 Intel is reported to be eyeing arevival of its "Arrow Lake Refresh" desktop processor design—Golden Pig Upgrade disclosed this "strange" revelation via an updated Weibo blog post. Back in 2023, the Chinese hardware reviewer and leaker extraordinaire theorized that Team Blue's much-rumored shelving of "ARL-S/HX Refresh" came down to cost/benefit considerations relating to accommodating an upgraded NPU in the chip's tile-based design. If I had a laptop with a 4090 or 5090 in it I’d use it absolutely. I’d just rather pay much less. 1 13900KF

johnksss
Soooooooo, I noticed that my GPU was not running in X16 mode and decided to investigate. Low and behold, it's stuck there! There is nothing attached and no drives installed. I booted factory bios 0513 and updated bios 1401. I inserted and removed m.2 drives in the m.2_3/m.2_4 slots to make sure it wasn't miss reading these as active. Did the same for slots m.2_1/m.2_2 to make sure it was actually reading them the same. Removed the CPU fully and reinstalled it. Check bios setting to make sure it was set for X16 GPU and Gen 5 then Gen 4. Removed and reinserted GPU 3 times in first PCIe slot🤦♂️ And this thing will not not change. Are you using the latest GeFarts drivers? I've heard not-so-great things about the new driver with 50-series support. What if you disable the WiFi/BT module in the BIOS? Any change? Lots of X870E owners are having really goofy problems with the latest Windows Updates and drivers, especially with WiFi/BT modules causing undesirable things. I always disable WiFi/BT in the BIOS and have not experienced any of that silly stuff myself. 1 2 WRAITH // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO (T-Rex) BANSHEE // X670E Gene | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 (Rhinoceros) SPECTRE // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 48GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 (Rattlesnake) HALF-BREED // Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth | 32GB DDR4 | Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Nothing to Write Home About (Turdbook) Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes.
