I had a 7820HK with a GTX1070 Mobile back when they were fresh and top of the line. My laptop was a BGA Aorus 17.3” DTR, I bought it used on eBay for around $1,800 dollars. The CPU was unlocked, and I had that thing running at over 4.7Ghz or so for benching. It was such a beast for being a bga turd book 😂! I also had the GTX1070 Mobile matching nearly stock weaker scoring desktop GTX1080 GPU’s. This machine had a beautiful IPS Pantone color rite x 4K@60Hz panel, during this time period high refresh rate was still not very common or popular and still expensive to own. So, if you got 35-40+ fps in games you were doing pretty darn good, especially on a laptop lol. And this machine absolutely provided a nice 35-60+ fps. I gamed at native 4K with ease. I remember the fire strike graphics score was around 21,000 which for a BGA GTX1070 was phenomenal. I had so much fun on this machine though. Good memories! I know this was no overclocking monster, and it was power limited. But, since it was reliable and smooth while allowing some levels of overclocking and performance functionality I grew to not mind BGA all that much. I do have low expectations for BGA, which I think is the reason why I don’t mind it all that much. But my last bga really left a lasting impression that was just incredible. That thing ran games like a desktop, and never gave me any real problems. 3 1 1 13900KF

ryan
temps were 42-43c during benchmark and laptop is cool to touch....all it took was an open window and sub arctic temps outside here is the CL score bro I guess I do tend to complain alot. This laptop runs fairly cool but when it comes to pushing it hard, I get abnormally hot temperatures, even with slight overclocks. I'd say its a great turdbook if you don't mind stock clocks. here is my CPU (11800h) set to 5.0ghz it tops out at 4.6ghz though. And for once I'm above normal here is the reference: https://browser.geekbench.com/processors/intel-core-i7-11800h Here is overclocked CL score. not much higher but hey can't complain (or can I lol). Also Fun fact. I'm related to Abraham Lincoln no joke My dads new wife is related to albert einstein. I mention that because alot of you guys are from the states and I suppose thats the only common denominator in terms of famous people in the states to reference older posts. heres good news the omen 16 with 11800h is faster than the i7 12700h version This is my new top score due to thermal contraints. It's depressing but hey it is what it is. Will be getting Liquid Metal thermal paste soon. 2 2 ZEUS-COMING SOON Omen 16 2021 Zenbook 14 oled Vivobook 15x oled

Not sure why it's not working right. Way too long ago for me to offer any suggestions. (Obviously could not even remember their name now, LOL.) I'll try installing some of the .NET frameworks and other stuff, maybe that would fix it? It works on my TM just fine; I think it has to do with my Win7 install. Though, I've looked through the P870 series schematics and can't find anything for the fan control. I was thinking I could just jump some of the pins on the connectors for the keyboard, but I can't find anything. Oh well, I'll figure it out sooner or later. 2 Clevo P870TM-G: Core i7 8700k @ 4.8ghz | Clevo RTX 2070 Super | 32gb HyperX DDR4 @ 3200mhz | 17" 1440p 120hz B173QTN01.0 Screen | 256gb Samsung 850 EVO | 500gb WD Blue SSD | Prema BIOS Alienware 17 R1: Core i7 4710mq @ 3.619ghz 741 CBR15 (834 CBR15 @ 4.213ghz) | Dell GTX 860m | 16gb HyperX DDR3L @ 2133mhz | 17" 3D 120hz LTN173HT02-T01 Screen | 256gb mSATA SSD Asus Zephyrus G14: Ryzen 7 4800hs @ 4.2ghz | GTX 1650 | 16gb DDR4 @ 3200mhz | 14" 120hz LM140LF1F01 Screen | 512gb NVME SSD

I used an EFI shell earlier today and wrote new values to the firmware to unlock the CPU controls. I will need to re-run the GB6 tests to see if it was of any value. Still 16GB of VRAM too lol. Someone could actually make use of this machine in creative programs. What does it get in something like port Royal? 13900KF

Etern4l
Well the noname PTM7950 failed as well. Angry at Intel for producing a practically uncoolable CPU at stock clocks, unless used occasionally for gaming, or cracked open for direct die cooling. At least now it's clearer what Sapphire Rapids are for. I am going to be asking EKWB to accept an RMA and refund my money for selling me something that functions the same as a normal water block on an IHS. My temps are not worse. They are a tiny bit better, but not direct die results like I would expect. Should be a LOT better, not a little bit. Temps with the Velocity2 block are almost the same as Velocity2 direct die block. Not terrible, but why bother with direct die if it is not impressively better? Makes no sense to me. Now, that said, I love how the EKWB part is made though. Very high precision and MUCH MORE pleasant to work with. I truly despise how the Supercool Direct Die block is made. Having to take it apart to separate it from the ILM is super retarded. They should come up with something less inconvenient and messy, because that sucks. A frame like EKWB uses would be a bazillion times better. 9 hours ago, Papusan said: Is the last nr of the two (58C-73C) the hottest temp? Or the spread? I think the EKWB DD have too much metal. It may have so much metal that it is normalizing temperatures rather than lowering them. White computer parts almost always strike me that way, even when it is crisp and clean looking. White is just not the right color to use from my perspective. It always sucks, even when it is not used in a disgusting way. The rainbow puke colors being added to the white simply create the impression of being a circus clown joke PC for children, and the rainbow merely exacerbates the magnitude of the ugliness. If you add stupid stuff like anime or cartoon images into the mix it then it becomes an object of contempt that is worthy of rejection and public ridicule. 4 hours ago, Etern4l said: Well the noname PTM7950 failed as well. There has to be something abnormal that is being overlooked. What are you using for a cooler? Maybe that is the problem. Are you using the Intel ILM or a CPU frame? I am wondering if the CPU shape and the shape of the base of your cooler are going opposite directions and need to be lapped? 1 1 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes.
