Alienware 18 Viking RTX QUADRO 4000 success but need help with cooling

Sup. Bought quadro RTX 4000 for my Alienware 18. But heatsink does not fit for it due to chip is in another place on the GPU (not as in 1060 which i use before) Could you please suggest which mod and how wxactly should i use it? I know that Baddemichi, MR FOX and others has done it. Please, help me.

For now its working but overheating in games , because cooling just lay on the chip unscrewed

I think someone here got it working by using m18x r2 gpu heatsink. It barely fits but works fine.

you need to show a picture of the heatsink overlapping the card so we can see where is the naked area that needs to be covered too

I struggled to get the RTX 3000 working on my 18:

Key to success is to cut the fins with a dremel IOT fit the HS into the case (I had to cut at least 3mm of fin to fit the HS). That was a real pain as it's really fragile (wrap the fins into shatterton at first to avoid them breaking when you use the dremel to cut them)

Find a master. He cut heatsink for me . Now all is fine

I also upgraded ram to 32GB and bought 2 ssd 1tb each

My AW18 is roided up now!
Not bad for 2013 year laptop!

strangely GPU doesnt want to load fully in fire strike and powerlimit jumping from 90 to 60 watts

my points with RTX 4000 in my alienware 18, I did not upload them before because this test was carried out without my hyperx Fury 2133hertz ram modules and without my i7-4930mx, also I have not installed the drivers correctly, it was only a stress test to test if everything was ok with the GPU. The maximum TDP that this gpu achieved is 95.3 Watts.

 

 

oh I almost forgot; It works for PCIe x16 (3.0) for me it's only working for PCIe 8x (3.0), I await your response. 😄

Now with my hardware, I don't see that much of a difference, really, but I'm very happy with the performance in games: D

Still makes me chuckle to see an 8GB RTX card in a 2013 laptop. That sort of score puts a smile on my face. 1080 Ultra is good enough. I think we are at the end of the line now, we have stretched the hell out of the M18 R2.  With no more RAM and CPU options, this is the end of the line. Even if a new GPU could be used, the CPU will hold it back
