nvm i forgot i used the stick for a windows 7 install and it was set to mbr 😅 working now

 

this laptop got a 240hz gsync screen in it

 

We are waiting for further developments. I also have a 240Hz (FHD) G-Sync version X170SM-G.

I purchased mine from rjtech for 269usd plus shipping. I went back and forth with a few AliExpress / eBay sellers but they ended up not having it in stock and shut down for Chinese new year.

I see it as you SM-G is and i9-10900K + RTX 3080 MXM GPU.
Do these deficiencies exist at you?
If it would be bought single 3080 GPU, it would be going then beside mistakes mentioned by you?

is there any guide/video to swap gpus in the x170? never did that myself and I know you gotta go a bit deeper than simply unscrewing the holder screw ( I think) and removing the connector

Only so much are big in lines though.
You withdraw the old one and you are putting in the new one (as he was the old one) and paste, thermal benches puts and fixes refrigeration, is useful then.

Do you have a modified BIOS for 3080 for X170SM-G?

Gpu arrived! Thing looks brand new and unused. 

 

tomorrow the 2x16gb gskill 3200mhz wil arrive together with fresh cryosheet.

Theres a guy a ebay where i got it from. Pretty cheap and he got plenty stock still! It wil workout! I expect friday for the heatsink to arrive 🙂

Hype!!! Soon all gonne enjoy the 3080😂!. Btw ive done some research. Its eazier to edit the vbios from the gpu itself and change the subid to trick nvidia driver so it can automaticly install. Editing dsdt ( in laptop bios ) is a pain, but il check as soon heatsink comes what wil be the best way

@Pfudaniel Just got my Eluktronics THICC-17 with the Prema Bios: 1.07.ELUK1 EC: 1.07ET. I am also looking to swap to the rtx 3080 as well. I've modded a lot of the older clevo's bios and .inf to run other gpus on my older monster laptops. I am not worried about the loss of gsync nor if I have to do a modded .inf please let me know how your 3080 setup goes. Also with the prema bios is there any kind of advantages already to my hand for this upgrade? Let me know how everything goes with you upgrade.
