  1. That was a while back, even before Northwest repair was a thing on Youtube. It was in 2018 era when I had that one. The 4080 Super PCB’s are a little different though. The Aorus master and Gaming OC look to be totally different designs. The gaming OC 4080 Super uses a full length PCB. While the 4080 Super Aorus Master uses a wider shorter PCB. So unfortunately the gaming OC is not an option. I wish they’d keep a standard here and make things simple. But they have got totally different designs and PCB’s and even different mounting holes on almost every single 4080 Super AIB under the sun. The 4080 Super Aorus master does look similar to the 4090 Gaming OC though. But the 4080 Super Gaming OC is totally different. Not sure why they did this. They should make xx80/90 series fairly similar so we can share blocks. But I’m exchanging mine for sure 100%. 4080 Super Aorus Master, or 4080 Super Suprim X are the top picks. 😁
  2. You know, I actually really like the Gaming OC model and the way it looks in person. I had a 2080Ti Gaming OC and I thought it was awesome. It was broken, and the person sold my a dud card that was artifacting 🤣lol. But that wasn’t the cards fault that they scammed me. But, something about the way it looked. I thought about exchanging for the gaming OC 4080S but I don’t see any blocks available for those in 4080S variant. So, I’m either gonna exchange for the Gigabyte Master, Suprim X, or the Gigabyte Aero white model. Why EKWB offers a waterblock for the rest and even the Aero model, and not the OG “Gaming OC” is just beyond me. But that’s a nice card for $1,799.
  3. Didn't @johnksss buy a Mercedes-Benz from him? What a shame he passed away. He was really great in "The Mandalorian" I was looking forward to Season 3 Mando. 😭He was really one of my favorite characters in the show..
  4. This 4080 Super completely stock, auto silent fan profile, 100% power limit, and it is still 15% faster than my full tilt RTX3090 KP. I managed to gain another 8% more performance with an improved fan curve, increased power limit, +1375 mem, and +185 core. So +23% faster in rasterization over my water chilled 3090KP is pretty darn good! 😃
  5. Seems we are really limited by voltage for the memory, and we’re limited by power/voltage on the core clocks. My 3090 Kingpin ran like 1.368V to the GDDR6X stock, I could run +1450ish stable. However, once I jumped GDDR6X voltage to just 1.440V I could do +1,800 in games and even more for benching. Not to mention you could push the ram voltage even harder. 😁 up to 1.900V or something 🤣 man, if only all GPU’s were fully unlocked like this. Anyways I made a video of my experience. 1st benchmark was stock with auto fan, and then tuning it. Below looks like Speedway Christmas edition, but it’s really artifacts 🤣
  6. @Talon Mine did +1375 on the memory reliably through Speedway.
  7. Yeah I’m totally fine with a 4080 though, I’m not complaining one bit. Me and my wife are building a new home, and the random expenses popping up weekly are pretty high associated with securing land and the home as well, and we aren’t even at closing day yet so You won’t find me saving for a 4090 anytime soon lol. I just wanted a fast and affordable GPU to replace my aging RTX3090.
  8. Hey. Can you share what your DDR5 8000 tuned timings look like?
  9. There were several AIB cards for $999 and $1,029 and $1,049 on Newegg when I got mine.
  10. Unfortunately this is the market we are in. RTX4090’s are $1,800 USD for pretty much any model I think. So if you are spending $1,000 or $1,100. That’s all we have available to purchase. Even if you increased the $1,000 budget by 50% and saved a little more you still couldn’t afford a 4090 with $1,500. So the big fancy $1,200 dollar RTX4080 Super with a cruise ship sized air cooler looks appealing because it’s literally the only option for most.
  11. Yes but unfortunately this thing has a unique looking PCB, maybe it’s the same holes as an FE? But I do not think there is even a waterblock anywhere to use with it that would fit. I’ll have to return it.
  12. I had no idea Nvidia improved thermal pads on RTX4000 series. That is fantastic and it needed to be done. Honestly, I feel really lucky and blessed to have gotten one, they were selling out pretty dang fast, right after I ordered mine they were gone 🤷‍♂️ so you are really left with hardly any time to order or even decide at all. But, It’ll be delivered tomorrow 😁. I’m curious how it will compare to a real FE lol. I guess it’s a copy cat FE? So I’m really wondering how out of box thermals will be.
  13. I tried to buy an FE they were all sold out. I really wanted the Suprim X 4080 Super next though, 😭. It showed in-stock, I went to check out and then said sold out. 😞 I tried to get it though but no go. I was thinking for too long on deciding. I was bouncing all over the place. So, then I tried the Tuff OC, thinking there’s plenty of blocks for those laying around 😁 and it said sold out too. Then I settled for MSI 4080 Super Expert over a few reasons. I can trust the build quality being an MSI so that’s good, it uses much higher quality thermal pads throughout the GPU VS. the 4080 Super FE models with their cheaper white thermal pads. It looks basic and nothing fancy or anything and is pretty much the MSI version of a FE. And it supports FE waterblocks too which will be readily available everywhere. I was afraid of the Zotac because it’s not standard PCB, so waterblock availability left me wondering 🤔 . And I felt super rushed to grab any Super at all honestly.
  14. Dang. I already bought the Expert though. It’ll be here tomorrow. It looks kinda nice man.
  15. I woke up late at 9:14AM lol. Best Buy inventory was already gone, Newegg was loaded up, and I took forever deciding which one. Then they started dropping like flies after trying to check out with some of them. So I got a MSI 4080 Super Expert, it’s like a FE model. I just feel bad I got scalped for an extra $149.99 by MSI/Newegg.
  16. Does not count. Totally worth it!!!. 🤣 But I know what you mean, spending 4090 money on a CPU with a retail value of about $500ish 🫠. I'm the worst of the worst when it comes to performance per dollar. On another note, I have not been that interested in super high-end GPUs lately. There is no tuning aspect like CPU and DDR5. I love CPU and memory overclocking more than GPU's. Just going to grab a 4080 Super and enjoy a new GPU and features. Hey its 01/31/2024!! Thats 4080 Super launch day. IM READY! For $999 it's not a bad deal. I miss the days when a xx80 series GPU was $649.99 though!!! However, back when that was a thing, I was too young and poor to afford that lol 🤣
  17. Those comparisons are kinda bad, hopefully we’ll see some better ones soon. 😂 the first tell tell sign it looks like the old 4080 is faster in one or equal to in others to the new 4080 Super. The RTX4080 Super isn’t really anything special or mean’t to be much faster than a 4080 to begin with I guess though, the biggest thing is it’s $200 cheaper. But not just that, they have the fastest GDDR6X available today, and better silicon than standard 4080’s. 😁 I’m gonna guess and say they will overclock really well with new improved GDDR6X, and better manufacturing process. The RTX4080 Super will essentially offer 65% to 70% of a RTX4090 for almost half the cost of a RTX4090. I say “Almost half” because I haven’t found a RTX4090 for any less than $1800 USD. Thats a pretty good bargain! With current market though we’re forced to take the cut and pay $999 for a 2/3rd RTX4090 🤣 The used RTX4090 market is literally MSRP +20% on top. So really, the 4070Ti Super and even 4080 Super are strong values in comparison. Even the worst and most expensive 4070Ti Super, the “Asus ROG STRIX 4070Ti Super” is probably the worst value at $949.99, however it’s still about half the performance and 43% the cost of a Strix ROG 4090, so then again it’s not necessarily the worst purchase in the world.
  18. I sold my 3090 Kingpin just a few minutes ago 🥲. I’m really just wanting to try something new. And something more efficient. No going back now. I’ve got to grab a 4080 Super, or 4090 either way. I will say this though. I game pretty casually lately. So a 4080 super would be good I think. I really can’t afford a 4090. I have a limited budget of about $1200 ish dollars for a new GPU.
  19. You guys do not think the 4080 Super is a worthy upgrade? Should I wait until RTX5080? Lol
  20. Do you have (2) 4090’s? You were planning on replacing one with a 4080 Super? I hope the 4080 Super is about 18-20% faster than the 4070Ti Super. It should be.
  21. Im wondering why the RTX4080 Super FE clocks higher with less peak power consumption than the standard RTX4080 FE. Nvidia must have improved their manufacturing process some? The 4070Ti Super STRIX is a poor value. Funny thing is, I was actually considering buying one if only for a millisecond, and realizing how large of a mistake that would have been. But it’s the false feel of “Luck” or “Opportunity “ you feel when you see these actually in-stock and available for normal pricing. It’s this silly GPU market has conditioned us to feel like poor value is acceptable I think. Those seem to clock the highest, I wonder if ASUS has improved the Strix cards any? Don’t think the 4080 Super Strix is worth the premium price? Inventory levels will probably be good for 01/31, so I might just have a chance at selecting between a few good models.
  22. The card is like 30%+ faster in practically anything than a stock out of the box RTX3090FE from launch day lol. Sometimes a little more than that even. It made it a great long term option. But I am cheating with every advantage, 10 gallons of a constant 15C coolant temp year round, I run (5) D5 pumps with crazy water pressure, and the GPU has full voltage control in its favor with binned core and memory IC’s.
  23. I’m gonna wait for the 4080 Super and buy it! It will offer at least equivalent or better performance in 4K (I hope, it will lol🤞) my 3090KP does have 1KW power limit and huge bandwidth at 23,500gbps GDDR6X so it’s a really a killer in 4K. But the 4080 Super is a little faster and has new frame gen features so it’s gonna offer a nice up tick in performance at half the power consumption. 😎 Whether I sell my current GPU or not, I’m still gonna grab the 4080 Super. I would splurge and get a 4090, but I’m in the process of buying a brand new house (First time buying a home, we’re excited 😆 ) and me and my wife are saving money like crazy. I haven’t bought a new GPU in over 2.5+ years though. So no worries there. I am excited about the 4080 Super though. @Talon I am going to water cool it right away (Within a week) and squeeze it for all it has performance wise🤣. I bought a 2080 Super around launch day, and I really enjoyed it. Especially the new faster ram they incorporated. I only considered a 4070 Ti Super because something new to play with water cool it etc lolz
  24. Okay. I think you’re right. I really like MSI. And I was eyeing this bad boy lol. And I saw it’s in stock already so it kinda got to thinking is all. It looks nice. Inventory is LOOKING GOOD THOUGH!!! Nice to see we can actually buy stuff. https://www.newegg.com/msi-geforce-rtx-4070-ti-super-rtx-4070-ti-super-16g-gaming-x-trio-white/p/N82E16814137859
