  1. Newegg pulled all of their 5080/5090 URL's so bots cannot snag them! This was a very smart move. Bots can only buy something if the link is copied and pasted and setup with the bot for the product pages of each item the person is trying to buy, and it refreshes and adds to the cart and automatically buys it. Without any URL's, bots are useless if I am understanding this correctly. If you search for 5090 on Newegg nothing comes up at all. I am ready for the AM!
  2. The bots really aren’t all that fast. They are quick at adding to cart. But human intervention is still required on Newegg using the Newegg Bot. So you can match their speed for sure. Especially if these are scalpers looking to just re-sale, who are running bots on super slow PC lol.
  3. What I mean is, the 16GB limit already has issues at 4K right now in titles.
  4. That 5080 is looking great! The one thing I don’t like is 16GB vram just isn’t enough. 4K Cyberpunk 2077 with Path tracing on, or Starwars Outlaws slammed the 4080 Super for me. I feel like they are having to tweak it to make it smooth and fit inside something, and that worries me for future games. The first time in history where our next gen xx80 class card isn’t faster than the prior gen xx90 class card! Being completely honest, the 4080 beats a stock 3090 pretty good. 4080 Super even beat out my XOC Water-Chilled 3090KP by decent margins in rasterization. And with implementation of Frame Gen it was smoking it in 4K smoothness. I personally would rather have a 4090 over a 5080. My 4090 isn’t a crazy overclocker as most of you know core wise, I have rebar disabled on my current bios, and my Port Royal score is still higher than his apparent “Max OC 4090 results”. So, it almost feels like he’s comparing a gem to a dud. The 5080 for $999 isn’t bad. But I almost feel like the 4090 would be better if we fast forward 4-5 years to future games.
  5. I want this one these are only $2,549.99! It’s only 230mm long or 9.2” And it already has a water-block ready to go! I feel like less people will be after this one since it has a block. And it’ll increase my chances some. These are always impossible to find after launch it seems. It’s almost like Aorus only makes a few thousand and that’s it.
  6. 3090ti SLI would be fun (Lots of power) I think I saw the rtx5090 was still faster than (2) XOC LN2 cooled 3090Ti’s. So that’s pretty good at least. Yeah I’m excited. I just hope I can get one. The 30th at 9am is literally dragging. I’m probably going to go for the same models as you. But if I see a Gigabyte Waterforce Extreme WB 5090 I’m getting that for sure.
  7. I hope I can snag a 5090. I was considering renting a bot lol. RTX 5090 day is almost here!!! Good luck everyone! Which model is everyone going to go for again? Part of me wants to focus on the 5090 FE at Bestbuy, then the other part wants me to lock in on Newegg, and get an AIB SUPRIM SOC or SOC Liquid.
  8. Well, at least it’s better than me hitting 34Gbps, and you only hitting 31Gbps due to dud GDDR7. (WE ALL HIT 34Gbps!!!)) lol. 😂
  9. I mean, I would love to be able to OC my 4090’s memory to 34gbps. 😃
  10. Imagine if the 5080 can run 34Gbps, that’s where it will whoop the 4080 Super for sure. Those cards are so limited by the 256 bit. That would be a 48% faster memory speed on the GDDR7 compared to the GDDR6X. Pretty substantial difference. Maybe another 10-15% and for $999 it’s definitely better than nothing. Asus is still Nuts either way lol.
  11. Gigabyte is stepping it up! They are using server grade high quality thermal putty instead of thermal pads on all of their GPU’s, and they even use Liquid Metal on both the 5090 Extreme Waterforce models! This is amazing to see steps in the right direction. They wanted to improve temps by 10% and reduce size by 10%. It seems like all of their prices are going to be better than even MSI’s GPU’s. So I may go with a Gigabyte this time as well. https://www.alktech.co/articles/in-the-news-gigabyte-launches-its-line-up-of-geforce-rtx-5090-and-rtx-5080-graphics-cards
  12. @electrosoft Do you know if MSI USA Store gets their inventory on launch day? They have the RTX 5090’s listed and say “Coming soon”
  13. 5080 Astral is $1,899.99 😂 I don’t know why anyone would pay double price of a 5080 FE 🥴 I’m gonna try for the Aorus Extreme Waterforce WB 1st, then Suprim SOC Liquid 360mm is 2nd option, then Suprim SOC Air 3rd option, and Gigabyte Gaming OC 4th option. Asus can keep their stuff. They’ve officially lost it if these prices are real. Only BH Photo shows the 5090 Aorus Extreme Waterforce probably $2499 or $2599 of I had to guess. I’d love to have a pre-blocked GPU for much less money than what Asus charges for their big 5090 Atlas though.
  14. Asus has lost their mind! I just read the 5090 Astral reviews, and literally chuckled at what Guru3D listed in the comments (Clearly a typo) They want $1700 for a 5080 TUF? And they want $2800 for a 5090 Astral?! They are pricing this card +$400 over the Suprim SOC, and +$300 over the Suprim SOC Liquid. I am not getting the Asus Astral! I draw the line at that price 100%. Asus has lost their MIND! That would be $3,015 dollars with taxes not including any extra shipping cost if I want it a little faster. I really want a 5090 Suprim SOC or SOC Liquid now. Those are priced VERY reasonably to me. But honestly, I'd be very happy with a Gigabyte 5090 Gaming OC for the $2249 or $2299. The Gaming OC is definitely a classic! And while it's not the highest build quality, but their coolers are performing at the very top and they work very well.
  15. The original owner is gtz who is a very common member on overclock.net. He told me he would help with RMA in the event if something ever happened down the road, I have his phone number so we could work that out for sure. I do have the original receipt that was included. I think RMA has to be done by the original owner with Gigabyte, which is why he happily offered lifetime assistance with the card in the event it ever died or something. But then again, I have read on Reddit that is not the case and people say they have RMA'd 2nd hand video cards with no problem. I'd have to pull the GPU to check and see if the RGB unplugs easily or not. I think it does but I cannot see that side of the GPU at the moment, RGB is only on when the fans spin so it’s pretty minimal RGB overall. The original 4090 Gaming OC's had a weak PCIe tail hook that would crack because it was so long, essentially dooming them to fail sooner or later. This model has a thicker and shorter PCIe tail hook so it won't break or crack over time. @Mr. Fox has one of the newer ones as well. Oh, and this card has never been taken apart by me or the previous owner. The temps achieved by this monstrous air coolers are ridiculous.
  16. It is too expensive for sure. I keep reading these comments on Reddit of people saying that 5090 Buyers are all nuts. And I keep stopping to think about it realistically. Maybe It’s not a good decision (I heard Jensen say it was a smart investment, and the more I buy, the more I save 😂). We’ll see how I feel when I actually add a 5090 to the cart and hit send. It’s a lot of money that’s for sure. But I’m gonna do it!! 😬 @win32asmguy I have a new revision 4090 Gaming OC with the updated/stronger PCIe slot, I will sell after I get a 5090. I only paid $1,350 for it all in. This card has really good memory on it as well if you are interested. 😃 Love my 4090 😊 They are so expensive! But the thought of opening a fresh 5090 after launch is exciting. I couldn’t afford a 4090 on launch day, or even a 3090 on launch day. Even though I ended up getting both later on. I want to be like you and others who grabs one at the start and keeps it a while and gets some good usage out of it for a few years.
  17. I was expecting these prices, and they are exactly what I thought they’d be. Top dawg AIB’s are always 25% more expensive than the Founder Edition models. If the 5080 FE is $999, and the Suprim X 5080 is $1,199 or $1,249. Then $2,399 for 5090 Suprim X sounds about right to me. Now, I think the Astral will be $2,549 or $2,599 for sure. I’m maxed out at $2,700. The main reason why I wanted the 5090 FE was to save $500 bucks though lol. Even if I could never put a waterblock on it I’d still get one. Although, typically these water cooling manufactures always make the fanciest waterblocks for the FE cards everytime. That was another reason. I do not have a Nvidia Store account so my chances are slim. I cannot make a Nvidia store account before launch in preparation because you can’t buy anything from Nvidia that ship from Nvidia to allow me to make an account. So I’ll probably try Best Buy.
  18. Wow! The Suprim liquid is very tempting. But I’ll probably go with the regular Suprim instead. Maybe the Astral. I’ll probably waterblock it, and I can’t see pulling that cooler off the Suprim Liquid being a smart move.
  19. That astral is a CHONKER! Part of me wants to try for an FE model just to see how I like it. It’s probably going to be $400-$500 dollars cheaper as well. It has Liquid Metal so I imagine the cooling will still be very good compared to the larger 3 slot cards. Are you avoiding the FE model? I’m mainly interested due to price. If I can save $300-$500 dollars then heck yes! But yeah the Astral looks great! I am probably going to put either one on water. So the more I save the better. I am considering the Asus TUF as well. I guess the 4090 Strix/TUF were always identical in the past, I’m not sure if the same thing will happen this gen though.
  20. So apparently the Suprim 5090 only has DP 2.1a, while the Astral and the FE have DP 2.1B support. I am not a complete expert on the differences between 2.1a or 2.1b as far as I know 2.1b is better with the ability to run longer display port cable at higher bandwidth since 2.1b has “DP80LL” support or something like that. It’s kind of random which models have DP 2.1a or DP2.1b. Like the Zotac AMP Extreme even has 2.1b lol, but the Suprim doesn’t. This is pretty silly. This makes me want to shoot for the Astral or FE model, or maybe even the Zotac lol. I am excited to get one though. I will probably try to snag a Founder Edition model first, and if I can’t, I will get an Astral. Being completely honest, there’s not a huge selection of models. Would love to see some more options from Gigabyte/Aorus maybe even PNY as well.
  21. The big thing though is the 4090 really doesn’t need that much power in my experience for gaming it’s really efficient compared to my 3090 Kingpin. I agree (2) Gen 5 power cables and a 1,000 watts bios would be really nice and ideal. But 99% of the time my 4090 is barely using 300-450 watts when gaming at 4K. Right now I’m actually playing Indiana Jones game, my 4090 is overclocked as high as it can go, and I’m sitting at 430 watts. Running the card stock with maxed power limit it uses 360 watts of power. I feel like with my 666 watt power limit this is more than enough for me, I can’t max this out in any real world scenario in a game. So comfortably we can probably use the overclocked 5090 and stay under 600 watts. And maybe the silicon will be even more efficient and use even less power as well. I think the best thing to do is we place our 5090’s on water cooling and then power usage would go down a little more! And hopefully with a good sample, the clocks could be pushed pretty good and we’d never really need more than 600 watts anyways for 4K gaming. Nvidia is probably going to release the 5080Ti which bridges the gap being a “Almost 5090 performance” but more extreme power delivery from AIB’s. I’m not sure. I think I can fit more coda cores and more vram inside this 600 watt limit though. And my 4090 is a pretty terrible sample.
  22. I definitely recommend the 4090, more so than a 5080. Of course I want to see reviews but… When I had my 3090 Kingpin it was overclocked and was about 25% faster than a stock 3090 FE in pretty much everything. But when I was gaming in 4K, I definitely felt the need for more power. So when the RTX 4000 series came out. I was like hmmmm. Now that I own a RTX 4090, it feels so fast I really question the need for a 5090 everyday as launch gets closer. True to word, no copium being smoked at all here 😆 the 4090 is just a BRUTE man! Literally can go run MSFS at 8K maxed out “No DLSS” with Frame Gen=On at 52fps avg and it’s just butter smooth with 1% lows also at 50-51fps. It’s the GPU that is going to hold up so much better than the 3090 did I think. Because the RTX3000 series really needed frame gen. So I highly recommend the 4090. I do want to see reviews of 5080 performance at 4K of course though. Will be curious to see how these GPU’s stack up. @Mr. Fox if I can’t get the 5090 models I want at a normal retail price, Suprim/Astral/FE/Maybe a TUF lol. I’m happy keeping my Gigabut 4090 Gaming OC. These cards are so fast that the 5090 which is literally a GODZILLA 512bit monster of a GPU, is only like 33% faster lol. If it doesn’t work out, I’m going to order a waterblock for my 4090 and complete the Lian Li V3000+ Plus and hard line tubing using the 4090. I wanted to do this with a 5090. But if I can’t grab one then the 4090 is fine. I’ve got me a bunch of PETG tubing, and (18) EKWB hard tube 16MM fittings ready to go. Oh and one thing cool, that new 5090 Astral uses a phase change thermal pad which is pretty interesting.
  23. I was told BestBuy is only doing online. I may do Microcenter. But they are 2.5 hours away. So 5 hour round trip. Was hoping to save the long journey and order online.
  24. I am definitely buying! I just hope I can snag one. I’d feel better sending you my money and letting you snag one for me. Then you just mail it to me. 😃 Do you think I’ll have a real shot at buying an FE on the Bestbuy website? Or should I focus on Newegg AIB models?
  25. I would rather just keep my current 4090 and not buy a 5090 at all. But I am going to try and buy one of course. Hopefully I can get one. If I can’t, I may very well waterblock my 4090, and use it in my build with new case/distro/etc and just keep it for a few years. I game for about 4-8 hours per week, and every time I play a game I think how fast this GPU is. But I know Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is coming soon. I want to be ready! Though the 4090 is probably good enough.
