I had to put a paper towel on mine to cover that backplate cutout. Otherwise it blast my ram with hot air and makes them sweat. it doesn’t seem to make the card any warmer. -

I hope my 4090 holds up. It is under warranty at least. But who wants to deal with that. Anyways, that one in the video has the old PCI-e slot tail hook which was definitely a big no no on these.. It's like 16ft long. -

Do you have trouble with the Jedi Survivor game as well? Thats another CPU intensive one I think. -

Real world stability testing is always the best. These modern games are stout. People use to pick on the idea of using games as stability testing. Now most of the time systems can pass through stability testing and fail to run games lol. -

Yes, it does. I didn't think Dynamic tuning enabled in bios did or changed anything else, other than allowing APO to work. I do not use XTU or anything, but Dynamic tuning is enabled in the bios on my system. -

Just ran it again. This GPU is a sensitive baby with overclocking. If you OC just a tiny bit too much it will lock up your whole computer. One of the most sensitive GPU's I have ever owned in my life lol. -

While 2fps is very very small that is actually 10% difference. Make sure you have Rebar forced. I am also using Intel Application Optimizer as well. My GPU is running 2910 boost steady. My first run did 27fps, and I should have screen shot that one. But I tried again and it was 26fps. -

My GPU is aircooled. It does not hold high boost. It is a very poor bin unfortunately. Looks to be hitting 71c max -

All for fun! I copied your settings. PS: This run only average 88% GPU usage, so it was CPU bottlenecked. Estimated FPS is no CPU bottleneck existed, and GPU was 99% GPU usage. Average FPS: 173.8 FPS Maximum: 198 FPS Minimum: 123 FPS -

It’s almost a double cheeseburger! But not quite. Still impressive for your laptop though. If we could force DLSS OFF, we’d gain much more FPS at native 100% scaling. This is essentially DLAA. -

I mean, it’s still 8.5% and your resolution slider was 65% and not 66% 😂 But, I really don’t think it matters about CPU OC, and or RAM OC. I’m pretty sure an i3 with DDR4 3200 would probably yield a similar result as me now with my 4090. My 4090 doesn’t overclock well at all. I saw one 4090 boosting near my max OC only his was completely stock (Very sad) 😭 but you probably will beat me in this one easily @electrosoft I’d go ahead and do a full on OC run with the GPU OCed. I think this benchmark might come down to whose GPU has best silicon. I didn’t exactly see any action in the benchmark, it looks like a bunch of senior animal ninjas slowly walking around their retirement resort in the jungle. 😂 -

Tested the Black Myth WuKong benchmark. My 4090 does not particularly overclock all that well. It ran 2,895Mhz on the boost through the entire benchmark. But here goes. It seems the 4090 will get this title done pretty well maxed out at 4K. Especially with further updates and optimization I hope it gets even better! I tried to disable motion-blur and turn anti-aliasing to low, this only resulted in a +1 FPS improvement lol. So, I left it on for the below run. These settings are how I will play the game. 4K/DLSS@66%=Quality DLSS/ Ray Tracing=ON/ Frame Gen=ON I have to say 78 FPS average for a 4090 at the end of its life on a AAA title just coming out is really fantastic. It’s definitely doing its job. Thank goodness for DLSS, and Frame Gen. (10 Years ago, the game would just mop the floor of your fancy high end GPU and that was that) During the shader compile my CPU peaked at a thirtsy 297.7 watts of juice at 5.9P/4.8E/5.0R DDR5 8600C36-49. Not sure why the font turned this color. But yeah, we all know some of these modern game shader compiles can use as much power as Cinebench lol. Happy Birthday @Papusan 🎊 -

Yeah, 12900KS is a straight up beast. My son has one in his PC, and every time I use his PC to help him with something, the first thing I notice is how fast it is. I am not sure what his SP rating is on that chip. Never checked it. But his DDR5 6800c34 is working great on this really cheap Z790 Asrock 4 dimm motherboard. As for my own testing I use a regular Apex board, I did try the Encore, but I noticed it was weaker in ram OC than my Apex A04 was. The Encore is great, but my specific Encore sample could not compete with my white Apex. The Encore is also apparently assembled with cheaper gadgetry than the white Apex Z790. Bios 2503 and new microcode 129= Great CPU overclocking! Great power delivery! Not so great ram OC. I could not stabilize my 8800c38 profile on 2503. Weird things happen. 8600 c36-49-49-49-88 also does not work properly for some reason on this bios. I am not sure what it is. Bios 9901 and microcode 123= Meh CPU overclocking! Meh power delivery! It takes some work and effort to get the CPU dialed properly and you just cannot get it as good as 2503 with the new microcode. Memory overclocking on this bios is superior to anything available though. You can reset bios, load 8800c38 and it works without trouble daily. -

I would have been open to AMD. But I already had a 2022 Z690 Hero motherboard. So I’m going to just use that and build a simple iGPU gaming rig. I’m going to overclock the iGPU to the max, run the fastest ram I can. As far as I remember the iGPU on 12th gen really trumped the prior gen DDR4 Intel iGPU’s. -

No kidding. Thats what I think. This is a brand new tray 12900KS for $250 and $18 shipping 🤩. I do not think a faster CPU can be had. She’s only going to be running DDR5 5600 Gskill, but I might actually upgrade her ram since that’s pretty inexpensive. Or maybe I will put the slower ram in my son’s system since he has a RTX3060, and put his Mdie in my daughters iGPU system. I think it depends on what type of 5600 ram this is that I have. I hope it’s plane Jane M-die, but I’m worried it’s the Samsung stuff 😭lol -

Looking to buy a CPU for my daughter’s first desktop PC. I won’t be getting a discrete GPU right away for this system. She will be using just the iGPU on the CPU for all of her gaming needs. Plus she only runs like Roblox, and Sims 4 anyways. It seems like the 12900KS is probably the way to go here. I’m looking at newer chips and I don’t think I can find anything for this cheap. Any thoughts on other possible options? I’m looking to spend no more than $300? Preferably less. I do plan to overclock the iGPU quite a bit, which seems to help more so than overclocking actual graphics cards lol. -

Thats great performance on this system! Honestly, I think it could drive a 4090 pretty well. These high end systems last so long. This 10+ year old rig is still very powerful today. Especially for normal computing. -

Anyone try one of these AIO’s, they have any problems? I have this one for my daughter’s build. It looks very similar to the NZXT Z73 I used in my son’s PC. -

They are such great sticks otherwise though. Mine are just insane. Their 8600 performance in the review is garbage though. 🤭 -

I think it was the price with the 4080 Super that interested me, and it’s still a great GPU. But one thing I didn’t like was the 16GB of GDDR6X. People think this is enough, but it’s not with 4K. I was unable to play Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K with Path tracing+Ray reconstruction on, completely unplayable. My GPU usage would hover at 60% and the game would just skip like crazy and drop to 20-30 fps just by looking at a graphically intensive scene, and I could never get consistent GPU usage unless I disabled path tracing and ray reconstruction. I thought it was the game. So I tried everything possible never could fix it. First thing I did with my 4090, was test this scenario and its butter smooth 99% GPU usage with slightly more Vram consumed than the 4080S had available. Anyways, the 4090 is strong. It’s a tank for sure! I find my self cutting back a bit on gaming. So, I am most likely going to settle in and skip some fancy new hardware for a while. If I upgrade anything it’ll be cpu for fun of course. I hope Intel doesn’t cancel making “Special Edition” chips, after the fiasco Intel 14th gen KS had.. Reading its reviews makes me cringe still. I personally thought the 14900KS chips were very good. Much better product than regular retail 14900K chips. Maybe they can eliminate “SP” as well lol. It doesn’t help us one bit. -

My 4080 SUPER full OC, vs my 4090 full OC. I actually ran a bunch of random benchmarks and took pictures so I could race my past self when I get bored. 🤭 41% faster!!! 🤩 4080 SUPER Suprim-X, Fully tuned and OCed to the max! Ran right before I shipped it off to Canada. 4090 Gaming OC ran tonight. This 4090 is only running about 2895 range too. It’s not the best overclocker on the core. -

Was the Titan not fast enough? What made you want to put a 2080Ti in that system? Im building my daughter a pc very soon. I have these parts for her build. So I will have 3 rigs in the family. 😃 Asus Z690 Hero, this is the re-released 2022+ model without the defects that prior 2021 units had. And also some Gskill 2x16GB DDR5 5600. I am going to get a cpu and gpu next. Ideally I’d like to get another chip like my son’s pc. He has a 12900KS, and he loads the system to the moon, and I never hear him speak of any slow downs 🤣 Edit: Actually, I might not put a GPU in her PC. She plays Roblox and Sims 4. So I really think an overclocked iGPU and some good system ram would suit her needs. -

We can turn off Enhanced TVB, and it removes the 1.450V limit. Then it’s just like any bios. New bios is working great so far though. I have not had any surprises but a very low power and very cool running chip.
