I sold my 3090 Kingpin just a few minutes ago 🥲. I’m really just wanting to try something new. And something more efficient. No going back now. I’ve got to grab a 4080 Super, or 4090 either way. I will say this though. I game pretty casually lately. So a 4080 super would be good I think. I really can’t afford a 4090. I have a limited budget of about $1200 ish dollars for a new GPU. -

You guys do not think the 4080 Super is a worthy upgrade? Should I wait until RTX5080? Lol -

Do you have (2) 4090’s? You were planning on replacing one with a 4080 Super? I hope the 4080 Super is about 18-20% faster than the 4070Ti Super. It should be. -

Im wondering why the RTX4080 Super FE clocks higher with less peak power consumption than the standard RTX4080 FE. Nvidia must have improved their manufacturing process some? The 4070Ti Super STRIX is a poor value. Funny thing is, I was actually considering buying one if only for a millisecond, and realizing how large of a mistake that would have been. But it’s the false feel of “Luck” or “Opportunity “ you feel when you see these actually in-stock and available for normal pricing. It’s this silly GPU market has conditioned us to feel like poor value is acceptable I think. Those seem to clock the highest, I wonder if ASUS has improved the Strix cards any? Don’t think the 4080 Super Strix is worth the premium price? Inventory levels will probably be good for 01/31, so I might just have a chance at selecting between a few good models. -

The card is like 30%+ faster in practically anything than a stock out of the box RTX3090FE from launch day lol. Sometimes a little more than that even. It made it a great long term option. But I am cheating with every advantage, 10 gallons of a constant 15C coolant temp year round, I run (5) D5 pumps with crazy water pressure, and the GPU has full voltage control in its favor with binned core and memory IC’s. -

I’m gonna wait for the 4080 Super and buy it! It will offer at least equivalent or better performance in 4K (I hope, it will lol🤞) my 3090KP does have 1KW power limit and huge bandwidth at 23,500gbps GDDR6X so it’s a really a killer in 4K. But the 4080 Super is a little faster and has new frame gen features so it’s gonna offer a nice up tick in performance at half the power consumption. 😎 Whether I sell my current GPU or not, I’m still gonna grab the 4080 Super. I would splurge and get a 4090, but I’m in the process of buying a brand new house (First time buying a home, we’re excited 😆 ) and me and my wife are saving money like crazy. I haven’t bought a new GPU in over 2.5+ years though. So no worries there. I am excited about the 4080 Super though. @Talon I am going to water cool it right away (Within a week) and squeeze it for all it has performance wise🤣. I bought a 2080 Super around launch day, and I really enjoyed it. Especially the new faster ram they incorporated. I only considered a 4070 Ti Super because something new to play with water cool it etc lolz -

Okay. I think you’re right. I really like MSI. And I was eyeing this bad boy lol. And I saw it’s in stock already so it kinda got to thinking is all. It looks nice. Inventory is LOOKING GOOD THOUGH!!! Nice to see we can actually buy stuff. https://www.newegg.com/msi-geforce-rtx-4070-ti-super-rtx-4070-ti-super-16g-gaming-x-trio-white/p/N82E16814137859 -

4070Ti SUPER $799 4080 SUPER $999 Hey everyone should I grab a 4070Ti Super now? Or wait for 4080 Super? 😁 I am really tempted to grab a 4070Ti Super right now and just run that lol. I hate to save $140-$200 and lose 15-20% performance though by being impatient. -

Ohh that’s so lucky! Maybe I can get a 4080 Super. I’m not very good at buying stuff fast on launch days though so I’m worried. -

@electrosoft you seem pretty tech savvy with picking up launch day toys @Talonyou as well. What do you think your chances would be at getting a 4080 Super on Launch day? Or at least ordering one on launch day? From maybe Bestbuy or Nvidia? I keep hearing people say that bots are the only way. Is this true? -

It would be fun to cook a 4090M in a desktop though. Shunt mod, and cold water. And then go race some laptop guys and tell them you too have a “laptop” and it’s the fastest Dell you’d ever seen 😂😂😂 -

I know I have been tempted to buy it just to have as a spare chip or for 2nd build. I can’t stand a low bin chip my self. And finding good chips for retail pricing is not very common. -

The iceman ram blocks are nice! Much better fitment and easier assembly. I may grab some. The supercools are nice, but installation isn’t exact everytime. -

Wow! I’m impressed 15K in PR out of a 4070 Super for $599.99?. What a value! I might grab one of the 4070Ti Supers since they are 16GB. Or just the 4080 Super. Either one is a great value for $799 and $999 though. I just want less power consumption, for less burden on my chiller. My 3090kp is fast but it’s a total power hog. -

Yes!!! YES!!! YES!!! That is a good one for sure! I tested one similar to that, and it was a mean chip! Here is my 14900KF R-batch chip I got from Germany; this is actually the very first time pressing the gas on it. Chip is 100% stock and not delidded at all. I love it so much. This is also the first time buying a binned CPU and actually being 100% pleased with it, even after paying through my teeth. I have hundreds of hours on it already in my daily work rig, and I just love it lol. 6.0P/4.8E/5.0R @350 watts on a stock CPU. 🤩 -

Wow! That’s a really good buy! I don’t think my Apex has a U.2 though. Maybe there is an adapter. I really want one of those. I’ve consolidated down to a single Gen4 2TB M.2, and I find my self clearing clutter to add more clutter sometimes. 8TB for $400 is amazing. -

Yes, it’s very clean when mounted to the motherboard, just make sure you set it to 100% in the bios. It has its own designated PWM plug right on the motherboard. I’m excited to get one! I’m probably just going to grab a 4080 Super FE if I can get so lucky. I’m selling my 3090 KP HC. And I’m genuinely excited to try another GPU. I just hope I can acquire a 4080 Super on launch day. I feel like if I don’t acquire one I’ll end up having to spend more money on a used 4090 instead. And I really don’t want to exceed the $999 budget because it kinda defeats the purpose. I really just want the new frame gen features, slightly better performance, on something more efficient. -

Hey! You should mount the Encore ram fan on the motherboard and reverse its orientation. It will blow air on the back of your new 2080Ti. That little fan at 100% is actually very very powerful. It’s actually more powerful than some 120mm fans I own 😂 and it looks clean and hidden. It works great for the backside of GPU’s. That small ROG ram fan will surprise you.😁 -

Thats because this is one of the last GPU’s that are not limited by power or voltages. It has full voltage control over the gpu, ram, and other rails like even the LLC. All of these benchmarks I ran last night are going to be the #1/100 scores for a 14900K/3090 combo or even #1/100 scores compared to a 14900K/3090Ti combos. So you’d want to compare that to #1/100 or at least #2/100 scores with a 14900K/4080 combo as well. Just for equal measurement of the 4080 gains then you will see a larger performance gap. Last but not least, I would not upgrade to a 4080, but a 4080 Super which is only $999 and a little faster. 😁 this makes it a much more reasonable transition. -

I swear this thing gets faster and faster as time goes on with driver optimization alone. My current windows is a sludge fest! My 14900KF is totally stock. Besides an extreme ram OC. -

I think it would offer a nice boost! First thing I’d do would be install water block, and flash the extreme 480 watt bios or whatever high power 500+ watt bios is available for the 4080 Super, next would be to overclock the new Super’s ram and core as far as it can go. I think 12-15% minimum can be pulled from one of these new GPU’s pretty easily. So in rasterization the 4080 Super will probably be 22-25% more powerful at least. And then with frame gen it’s gonna be about 45% faster I think. Not 4090 levels or even close, but definitely perfect for an Intel 14th gen. I don’t think I need full fledge 4090 power. I just want my own performance and frame gen really lol. I am excited for the Intel B980 too! That would be cool to have a Intel/Intel build 😂 -

So, with my daily profile I get 6,600 in 3DMark Speedway. So, it’s about 10% slower (In this test at least) than a stock 4080FE. But, since the 4080 has Frame Gen that is a technology I just can’t possibly keep up with. Not to mention the 4080 can be squeezed some as well, and the 4080 Super being a little faster on top of that, and cheaper, then there is less power usage etc. I think it would be good enough improvement. I play games in 4K so I’m hoping it will at least compete with what I have (I’m sure It will), and offer some massive boosts with the frame gen tech. 😁
