  1. Just a follow up on this. That is actually a 3090Ti Kingpin you shared a benchmark of with a 25,200 graphics score. So I started benching my 3090 Kingpin in comparison to see where it’s at. I could not get 25,200.. But I did get 24,536 😎. I have not ran 3DMark in ages. I’m actually quite surprised by this run. Normal 15C daily water temp. 2,235Mhz locked boost and my memory is at 22,950gbps https://www.3DMark.com/3dm/89765069
  2. You don’t need to shunt mod a 3090 or 3090Ti, you just flash the bios. We only shunt mod as a last resort when there is no bios available to flash with. But yeah that’s amazing. I have not ran 3DMark one single time on my 13900K. I may revisit this .
  3. No, just using the xoc bios. Just checked I’m still #1 with 11900K/3090.
  4. Ok. I had no idea 3090Ti got that on air. When I benched my 11900K/3090 in Timespy I was #1 with this setup.
  5. Yeah but, how is nvidia gonna put a 450-600+ watt 4090 inside of a laptop? This is not possible. Fortunately the 4090 is pretty efficient so they managed to get about 50-60% of its performance. The 4090 mobile is getting 14,450 ish in port royal with some tweaking. That is FAST! Yes, I can get faster with my 3090 KP. I can get 16K in port royal. But, my GPU with waterblock alone cost nearly as much as that $2,800 dollar laptop. So, it’s really not all bad. I do know the 4090 laptop also scored sub 23K in Timespy graphics. That nearly matches my 3090KP, which is substantially faster than a 3090Ti. I know people are complaining. But, I am really wondering how would it be possible to have a “True” 4090 in a laptop at all? If this is a limitation all together, then it is what it is right?
  6. That’s something there too. See, I have not owned a laptop in some years now. Wow it has been almost 5 years. I moved back to desktop in 2018, but I had a real DTR gaming laptop that was not a BGA. But, maybe all of the pains with limited cooling and BGA have faded away. Kinda like child birth for a women lol. I could very well hate that $2,800 dollar RTX4090 machine with a passion. But this is a good point. So, maybe it really does suck. I’m sure @Mr. Fox and @Papusan are right lol.
  7. I had a Aorus BGA laptop once, it was a 7820HK, and a GTX1070 back in 2017, it’s what brought me to this forum, and I loved that machine. I really liked it. I mean, you can’t exactly upgrade them and they are absolutely disposable 100%. But a desktop 3090/4090 that costed about $2,000 is also just as disposable. I always remember laptops being 1 generation behind in performance compared to a desktop. And that is still true today in 2023 I guess. I’m not buying one of these machines at all, I’m just saying that it’s fast and really not a terrible deal for $2,800 dollars. Remember, if you are buying anything technology related it’s never an investment and only offers financial loss lol. So, @Mr. Fox a worthless piece of crap filth turd book can beat a 3090Ti desktop for less than $2,800 😎 That’s not too shabby. It may suck, but it’s still fast. I will say this. Maybe it does suck! I have been on a desktop for a while now. So, maybe I would hate it and think it is pure crap. I do not know. And I’m not about to spend $2,800+ tax to find out 😂
  8. 4090 Mobile is laughable. It is absolutely gimped to the MAX. But, because the 4090 desktop is so fast, the gimped 4090 mobile is still a monster. Even heat and power throttled it chugs through 4K gaming like a champ. And, for the price of admission it’s absolutely worth it. People can pick on it all they want to. But, it can still put out about 55-60% of what their desktop 4090 can do. And that ain’t bad for something that you can pick up and move around, and only cost $2,800. Most here paid that for a 4090 alone.
  9. @Papusan relax! It is just a gaming laptop. It’s not $5,000 bucks either. I’m sure it has potential. It’s only $2,800 bucks. Everyone is offended over this machine lol. Dang!
  10. Yeah, well a water cooled 4090 laptop for $2,950 is not bad though. I imagine that would help with a lot of the issues that laptops have. Remember, this is a laptop and not a desktop. Maybe there are limitations that apply to it because it’s a “Laptop” and it is not exactly a design flaw. I cannot tow a car with my motorcycle, so it doesn’t mean it’s a piece of crap with design flaws. It is just limitations of being a motorcycle. The 4090 Laptop is going to have lots of short comings, that a desktop 4090 cannot do. However, it’s $2,800 bucks for the fastest mobile performance available right now. It will work as intended running games perfectly fine. It was difficult to buy a GTX1080 laptop for $2,800 years ago. So, this is nice to see pricing so affordable for top tier 4090 mobile.
  11. I know people pick on BGA here. But you can buy a brand new gaming laptop with a 4090 for $2,799. That’s crazy. And it supports the external water cooler attachment which is an extra $150 or so. This is really an amazing deal!! This thing offers better than 3090Ti desktop performance right out of the box. Just figured I’d share this information! That price to performance ratio is really good here. BGA or not. This is a good buy for something that would run games well for years. I don’t even need a laptop and I’m very tempted to buy this 🤓 https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Tracer-VII-Edge-I17E-LC-500
  12. It’s kinda crazy how buying a GPU is like a major decision nowadays haha. I remember back in the day, I would spend like $150-$400 and overthink it like crazy, read every review online, and I’d still have some of the fastest performance available. My last GPU purchase was $2,200 dollars. And this was a 3090 Kingpin Hydro Copper. I felt like I was getting a good deal at the time, and I still do. And I really love it. It is still so freaking fast today, and GPU’s are so expensive right now, that I’m not hasty in the slightest amount about jumping on another one for $1,500-$2,000+
  13. That’s awesome. I’m happy with mine. Nothing broken, and it has been super reliable with direct die. The only thing I hate about MSI is their on board raid is the worst ever. It works and you can run even 4-5 M.2’s all in a raid-0 with crazy speeds. But, I tested this and set up a raid-0 with (3) M.2’s, I saved my bios, then I immediately reset the bios on purpose, I then re-loaded that saved bios profile. And the raid-0 was gone forever. Even after reconfiguring it in the bios the exact same way. it’s really the stupidest thing ever lol. EVGA does not have this issue, or even Asus. Apparently it’s a common issue for MSI and they won’t fix it. So, if you ever create an on-board raid “Never reset your bios” or your Windows is gone 😂 It’s not a huge deal, I just wanted to make use of the (5) M.2 slots that the Unify-X has on board, and the pile of M.2 SSD’s I have. My main OS drive is a single 2TB.
  14. @electrosoft Open box Z790 Apex for $594.99 in-stock on Newegg. Maybe a little over budget, but if you’re after pushing memory speeds on a 12900K/KS I can’t think of anything better to do it with! https://www.newegg.com/asus-rog-maximus-z790-apex/p/N82E16813119611R?Description=Z790 Apex&cm_re=Z790_Apex-_-13-119-611R-_-Product&quicklink=true
  15. Supercool GEN13 is back in-Stock again! They have like 30 left. Mine already shipped, I am currently using a GEN12 Supercool, and I’m upgrading to the new and improved GEN13 Supercool. These already sold out yesterday, and they are back in stock once again. I’d grab one while you can, they are super RARE. @Papusan @Mr. Fox @johnksss And whoever else wants one! http://www.supercoolcomputer.com/en/product/46/direct-die-intel-gen13-2
  16. The MSI Unify-X Z690 is getting it done for sure. I’m really blown away by these new results. Especially after reading many people say that they were having trouble getting the new Tachyon Z790 to run even DDR5 7800/8000 at all. So, I have kinda decided to just keep my Unify-X. The Apex Z790 and Tachyon Z790 are just always sold out and too expensive for me to take seriously. My Hynix A-die 7200 memory kit is actually really good apparently, I just needed to give it the voltage it needed. Right now I have been testing 7800C34 profile from another member with really low RTL’s and 49NS latency. (It performs VERY well) I’m extremely satisfied with this. Not as much bandwidth as DDR5 8000, but lower latency. I’m still messing with what profile I will settle on. Memory tuning/testing is really so time consuming. (mainly why I put it off for so long, fortunately it seems the Unify-X bios finally matured enough to dig in and tune my ram) But yes, you can finally run DDR5 8000 on a Unify-X Z690.
  17. Hey everyone the Supercool GEN13 direct die blocks are in-stock!!! Only 10 or 11 of them left. I ordered mine earlier today!! Such a rare and amazing product! http://www.supercoolcomputer.com/product/46/direct-die-intel-gen13-2
  18. MSI Unify-X has improved drastically since the new bios. Lower SA voltages, and easier memory overclocking. DDR5 8000 booted in to windows first try. And no BSODS so far! CPU at 6.0P/4.8E/5.1R and DDR5 8000!!! 1.400V VDD2 Auto 1.400V CPU IMC Auto 1.200V SA Auto 1.665V VDD MEMORY 1.665V VDDQ MEMORY
  19. I had a launch day AMD RX480 and it was 98.5% ASIC. It overclocked very well for air cooling. It was rivaling a stock GTX980 for sure. I loved that GPU.
  20. Guys! Look at these GPU temps. It’s just stupid. This is the normal 520 watt KP HC LN2 bios. 22C! My chiller is MONSTER. Water flow is absolutely key with a chiller. I had no idea. I have heard this before, but I didn’t think it would offer such a drastic difference. I thought I maybe just needed a larger water chiller. Turns out I had low head pressure all this time. Bear in mind those GPU temps are also with a 6Ghz 13900K. 🤯🤯🤯
  21. Those were the best. And I never got a chance to own one. Only the smaller P750 😞 I don’t use or have any interest in windows laptops anymore though especially since they are all primarily disposable now with BGA. And If I’m gonna have something BGA. It’s a 13” MacBook (Which is what I use on the go). You can’t exactly slow down the OS, and their M1 silicon is pretty darn good! 100% performance plugged in or unplugged with no fans. Anyways, yes this game is a blast for sure. I never played any of the previous ones. $60 dollars for a game is expensive and I normally buy cheaper games my self. But so far it’s worth it. I have not sat down and played a single player game for much longer than a few minutes in a long time without losing interest fast. They never hold my attention. But this game seems to do the opposite.
  22. Not really sure lol. I have a flow meter but it’s wayyy wrong lol. So I don’t have it hooked up anymore. (3) D5’s at 100%. It’s lots of flow haha! Shortest runs possible on my tubing, I even raised my chiller up off the ground bringing it closer to my test bench. Have a look at this video playing the new dead space 2023. Crazy temps. Just insane! What’s funny is, this is with the 1KW bios full OC, so regardless of power usage it runs like 3-5C hotter than the normal 520 watt KP bios (I guess just due to board voltages being higher etc) 15C coolant. (I have never had temps this amazing.. It’s mind blowing for real!) Adding that 3rd D5 made such a massive difference. I’m gonna add the 4th D5 when it arrives next week lol Anyways, man I’m really getting in to the new Dead Space 2023!! Fantastic so far, and the 3090KP is just kicking tail in 2023 😂 YOU GUYS NEED TO GRAB IT ON STEAM!! @Mr. Fox happy birthday!
  23. MASSIVE difference in GPU temps since adding another D5! My 3090KP HC with the 1KW bios is 29c at 460+ watts during gameplay lol. Most importantly is how effective my chiller actually works now. I feel like it has been converted from 1/2HP to 3/4HP. It is actually turning off during gameplay because it reaches the set desired temp point so quickly. Normally it would just run forever during games. This was the first thing I noticed right away. I’ve got a D5 on the inlet and D5 on the outlet of my chiller, and a D5 underneath my components for additional head pressure. The difference on a chiller when adding (3) D5’s is very substantial! (2) D5’s and chiller is not enough. I do not have any radiators or fans in my system. Chiller and pumps only. CPU temps look to be identical during something like R23 etc. But during gameplay everything is lower. Because my chiller can maintain a far cooler water temp. This is KDC at 460+ watts and 29C. it’s crazy my chiller is literally capable of so much more under sustained heavy loads. If I loaded the normal 520KP bios on here, the GPU would run even cooler.
  24. MSI AB was dated and 32bit only. It could not monitor more than (16) cores. It has been like that forever. Maybe someone will make a better app.
  25. MORE PUMPS!!! I ordered (2) of these here pictured below. EKWB 300MM D5. One of them has arrived so far. I bought them used/open box on eBay. $165 each. I’ll have (4) D5’s turning on my setup together lol. I may only use (3) and just remove that Alphacool VPP755.V3 (Since it is an odd ball out) We’ll see how it goes. So far this one looks brand-new though. I wanted a tall/large reservoir pump so bad, and I finally got one.
