Just an FYI. I bet everyone is sending too much voltage to their VCCSA with 13th Gen. I’m running 0.995 to mine lol. Totally stable. VDD2 which is the CPU IMC voltage, I have that down to 1.350 so far. Now I’m working on lowering the CPU VDDQ TX that is at 1.450v My windows 11 install will be broke before the night is up! -

I finally understand all of the voltages for DDR5 and Z690/Z790 platforms. I get it. It was so confusing at first. But now I’ve got it down. On the 11th day, I finally understand. -

Guys I got DDR5 8000 on the Unify-X!!! OMG!! I found what made it tick! 😭😭😭 CPU VDD voltage. I added the thinnest amount, and BAM! I shouldn’t have doubted the Unify-X lol. Sorry MSI! Lol. This thing really is a beast. -

I play 2560x1440P my 11900K could not keep up. I was cpu limited quite often. Not anymore! 😎 -

Yeah ever since popping in the 13900KF, and super fast DDR5, I’m back to being GPU limited again. I managed to get DDR5 7800 and DDR5 8000 to post on the Unify-X. However, the supporting voltages needed to make this happen are just silly. 1.580V VDD, and 1.580V VDDQ voltage on both ram sticks. So, I am going to just work in tightening the timings on DDR5 7600 as low as I can get them. So far DDR5 7600 C34-45-45-45-81 is perfect! Only 1.450v VDD, and 1.450v VDDQ. The Hynix A-Die sticks are running 36C-37C. This is how I test DDR5 -

I’m not limited by the memory controller. I’m limited by my Z690 motherboard. 13900K and on even lower end (4) Dimm Z790 boards are overclocking the memory higher than 8200+ stable my (2) Dimm Z690 motherboard cannot do that. Gigabyte has achieved DDR5 9333 on a (4) Dimm Aorus Tachyon Z790 board with air cooling and 13900K. This was a Hynix A-Die 7600 kit overclocked to a stable 9333. Crazy, I know! Z790 boards are looking great! And with Hynix A-Die freshly out it’s only gonna open up the true possibilities for it. The Z790 Dark, and Z790 Apex are essentially the two top dogs that’ll be running it. But seeing such insane speeds on just cheaper (4) Dimm motherboards is nothing short of crazy. -

Apex Z790 Pre-order $699.99 11/20 release date. I love the white. It would actually match my test bench. Tempting. It is not worth it though. I’d probably gain 200-400Mhz in extra memory overclocking if that, maybe a little more. One thing nice about the Asus is how well they have dialed in the VID tables for Intel CPU’s. https://www.newegg.com/asus-rog-maximus-z790-apex/p/N82E16813119611?Item=N82E16813119611&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-13-119-611-_-11032022 -

Yeah the new EKWB tec cooler is really awesome, I wish I could just try one out without necessarily having to commit to that $530+ dollar waterblock purchase, more or less to see if I’d even run something like that. How do you think it would work with a waterchiller? Lol. -

My Unify-X has those quick release M.2 drives plastic turn things. But you don’t have to use them, they are also threaded at the top for use with a screw. So, it’s an option all together. You can use the plastic turn thing, or just the screw, or both lol. They also include in the box the standard M.2 mount studs without the quick release option. Although, I don’t see why anyone would change them since the original ones are threaded anyways. EDIT: Stock 13900KF 5.5-5.8 @1.190v in the bios Auto LLC, DDR5 7600. Breaking right past 41K in R23 is absolutely insane. Why do we overclock these again? Sub 250 watts (Water chiller off) upload -

Congratulations on 27 years of marriage. Also, that’s a very nice chip! Definitely good enough to not fuss over an exchange. You could potentially end up with less. Sometimes I’m glad I don’t know my SP rating lol. I know it overclocks good, and it does great work with very little power for the performance It puts out. That’s good enough for me. At the end of the day, the SP ain’t the be all do all. Some chips don’t care and punch above with the right setup too lol. -

I run this for DDR5 7600 stable. 1.150v SA 1.500v VDDQ 1.400v VDD2 1.435v Linked DDR5 voltage. All of my timings are the auto XMP 7200 timing profile except for tREFI at 262K+ “Maxed out” and 16 tFAW. 7600 is stable for hours in HCI Memtest full coverage CL36-46-46-46-84. I haven’t tuned timings much due to just crazy good performance as it is. SUB 125Gbps bandwidth and 51-52ns latency. I can run tighter primary timings and haven’t seen any issues with CL34-42-42-42-81 @DDR5 7600 with gaming and daily stuff, but I never re-tested HCI Memtest stability at those lower timings. But I know for sure 7600 CL36-46-46-46-84 is 100% stable in HCI Memtest which is (16) apps running with 1,920MB ram usage each. I tested for a little over 2 hours and called it good. -

Much better value than Corsairs $540 dollar Dominator Platinum A-Die Lol 🤣. You can get great performance from Hynix M-Die and for $182 USD it’s really not bad at all. I don’t think I have nearly exploited the full potential of my Hynix A-Die though. People are stabilizing DDR5 8000 on Z790 Strix-F boards with minimal effort lol. So, I’m starting to think this is a real limitation within Z690. But then again, it’s all about value at the end of the day. So, you’d not only need A-Die, but also a expensive Z790 motherboard to go along with it. And high end previous Z690 boards were a great value compared to Z790 Hero which is like $620 and essentially a mid range motherboard. While top end Z690 Darks could be had for $450 brand new on eBay. “Not anymore” -

I will double check my bios in a little bit. I don’t remember off the top of my head. It could very well be IMC limited. I’m good to go either way. This thing is a monster. I have never seen my GPU usage peg 100% in games and stay there for frequent periods of time. It has been years since that has happen to me. My 11900K was more or less a 90-95% type of gal LOL. -

I haven’t been able to post more than 7600 at all. But I have gotten it stable with a fan on my DDR5. DDR5 is super sensitive. During my stability testing the coolest stick hit 44c temps immediately started spitting errors. Then BSOD’d on me. So I’m thinking staying below 40c is paramount to stability. So I just always keep a fan on them. -

I think so. I believe some people can get higher on Z690. But I’m not so sure. I feel like if I lower my tREFI a little and increase the RTL’s I can get a little higher. I’ll try that later. But aside from that I’m good with a stable 7600. I don’t believe I’ll be changing motherboards. I would say the best thing to do now is optimize all memory timings for optimal performance. -

I can only do 7600 C36-46-46-46-81 truly stable through (16) iterations of HCI Memtest full coverage for 2+ hours. So I called it good enough. I’m running it at 7600 C34-45-45-45-81. I haven’t re-tested stability but good in my daily stuff. I think my Unify X is all tapped out. I do get 124,800Gbps bandwidth though and around 51ns latency with 262K tREFI and 16 tFAW. Very fast at 7600. Good enough for sure. -

Honestly, don’t be surprised if I keep it. It’s a great chip. He also wants to do standard PayPal, and I’d have to ship across the world. Most likely they’d hold the funds until some delivery that takes weeks. It all just sounds like a head ache to me, just to turn around and buy another one when they’re not even in stock anywhere at the moment. -

This 13900KF and DDR5 7600 has definitely boosted my FPS! Most of its just from higher GPU usage which equates to more FPS. Definitely don’t see this often! I’ll take it when I can get it! Nice boost over the 11900K. -

Yeah if you think about it, It really isn’t all that amazing selling it for just $1,000 dollars. Not to mention, any 13900K chip is already selling for $800-$900 new on Amazon and eBay due to being “Out of stock” -

I decided to keep my 13900KF ECO model. I was tempted to ask like $1,000. But I’m attached to it. Plus, I would just have to go out and buy another one lol. I would be merely selling something just to sell something. Then spend more time and money potentially crying over another one LOL. And all the 13900KF’s are sold out until 11/8, which is what I’d be after if I had to buy another. I Blame @electrosoft for getting me all in to testing for low power consumption. 😄 -

I’ve managed some really amazing stuff with my 13900KF 5.9Ghz is easy for a daily it seems 😃. But for some reason I cannot even post past 7600 DDR5. Funny thing is, DDR5 7600 is stable. And good for daily as well. 5.9 GHz is stable on the P-Cores at just @1.350V. With 4.5Ghz E-Cores, and 5.1Ghz ring. This is a great CPU, and great memory too! But, maybe I’m limited by my board.. I’m seeing people stabilize 7800+ on a (6 layer) Z790 Strix F 😭 regardless not worth it to make me upgrade motherboards. I’m happy with what I’ve got. And it could also be me and not the board. Still tinkering here and there though. Lots left to still tune.
