  1. @Mr. Fox you were right. The Rockitcool IHS wings do not fit. And the IHS is literally crooked inside the thermal right frame. I took a steel file and in just a couple minutes I got it to fit perfectly! I can’t believe my temps were as good as they were when the IHS wasn’t even touching the freaking die LOL. It was merely floating above it and dipped in LM puddle I guess.
  2. Interesting, glad you found that! I have mine installed and running great! I’ve removed it and remounted again. Using LM on the die, LM on the IHS, and LM between the block and IHS. It runs veryyyy cool!!! Very cool. Especially with the chiller. I’ll remove it again tomorrow to check the wings and make sure mine clear it okay. But right now it’s running really well so far.
  3. My whole copper IHS is soaked in it and cold plate lol. Only the Conductonaut branded kind. I put extra because I know how copper likes to drink it.
  4. That’s actually a really nice looking alien ware. I love the styling. But yeah it’s probably not all that great. I imagine super expensive. But it’s still very NICE. Even if it runs hot lol. @Mr. Fox Did you install your Rockitcool copper IHS yet with the contact frame? When you install it can you check the corners of the IHS? It looks like some corners are nearly flush while other poke up more. It’s kinda weird and makes it seem like it may be uneven. I’m curious to see how yours is. It’s almost like the IHS corners are not even though. Let me know thanks.
  5. Im not messing with it anymore. I’ll gladly just keep it. Delid the chip. Run it etc.
  6. You know what’s crazy. Falkentyne is all go team Asus. And Cens is team EVGA. Makes me wonder. Someone even joked about that in the forums and I quote them here. “Damn Falk you really don’t want EVGA to win this one do you” they have since edited the post and removed that. Apparently Kingpin and Luumi both will vouch for this CENS guy. So I don’t know….I already refunded him either way. Also, the person he apparently scammed they said he baits and switches the CPU’s out, apparently his samples are claimed as really amazing and promised to run this and run at that, and the person gets an actual turd of a CPU once they receive it. I have no idea whats going on. And now I feel like I’ve been fooled by everyone LOL.
  7. Yeah he seems to be doing some really cool stuff. Testing hardware and bios. I know he had a 13900KF QS sample long before any of us. I guess he gets Asus engineering sample motherboards too. He knows this engineer at Intel and he can give you your VID tables from just the batch number. Intel recorded all of the VID’s to the batch numbers. Pretty crazy.
  8. Yeah, plus this just showed up too. 😭😭😭 PS: That’s my CPU boxed up ready to go. But now I’m thinking not.
  9. He sent the money but, it’s normal PayPal. I don’t wanna get screwed over and he file a false claim or send me back a burnt chip or something. I mean apparently he does that. I’ll refund it, and he can do F&F and I’ll ship it. But now I cannot do it..
  10. Yeah he’s in with Asus, and bios testing and stuff like that. Extremely busy is all.
  11. What should I do? I just got this message from Falk. The funds are normal PayPal. Not F&F. I’m really worried now. I haven’t shipped. But did just buy an expensive label to Germany. 😔 and then I see this PM.
  12. The market will be flooded soon with AMD and Nvidia GPU’s. I’ll happily sit back and wait with my 3090 KP HC. I’m waiting until I can pick through several options on Newegg. It may be a little while though.
  13. I think it was just something he had in his back pocket he waved it around very nonchalant like lol. She’s taking an express flight to Germany! He will get it by Monday. So it may be featured in some live YouTube LN2 streaming by Team EVGA with Vince. Unless of course it turns out to have really bad cold bug or something.
  14. I know right? All of my EVGA Dark motherboards from X299 to Z490 to Z590 have had something or another broken on them. But, they always still worked past my use with them.
  15. Alright, CENN said he’d buy the chip for $1,050 plus shipping and hook me up with a Z790 Dark from Vince too. I’ll do it. 😁😁😁
  16. Still rocking that 3090 Kingpin Hydro copper man. It has been great!
  17. CENN still wants my CPU. He just messaged again, and said c’mon man $1,050 and I’ll pay any express shipping fees on top. I mean, I’d be pocketing $424 and getting to test another new unknown 13900KF. I found another new one for a decent price.
  18. We had a Tiger direct here in NC but they closed down around 2009-2010 I believe. They were great too. I remember going there when I was 15 years old and my mom bought me a NZXT Nemesis Elite ATX case for my birthday lol. They didn’t have any in stock so they sold me the display model for $10 dollars less. But I would run up there all the time to buy parts up until I was about 20 and they closed the doors. I remember they were always packed when I went inside, and I am not really sure why they even closed to this day. Maybe a Microcenter will come to NC one day.
  19. I don’t think it’s from moisture. One thing that’s strange is, that Ethernet cable that caused this is not one I normally use ever. It has a metal plug housing around it. And that metal was burning against some metal on the inside of the Ethernet port. Not the wires themselves. This metal tab on the right side of the Ethernet port was burning against the metal on the side of the Ethernet cable. Anyways, the motherboard held up under the heat and stress! Nothing broken. That port works just fine.
  20. I’m telling you. I have never seen anything like this in my life! It’s really the craziest thing ever. I don’t have any dogs, and I don’t believe the cable is damaged but it is 100ft long, or maybe 75ft I can’t remember for sure how long. It looks like the electricity or burn was coming from some metal around the inner portion of the Ethernet port, and not from those small wires.
  21. I don’t know what it was. I’m merely explaining what happen. Not sure how it happen or why it happen, but it definitely happen to me, not sure what caused it. My wife was actually the one who physically plugged it in to my computer. We both smelled the burning.
  22. Here is the cable, and the burn mark inside the Ethernet port. It was only running from computer to computer. I don’t know how it’s possible, or how it even happen. I just know the cable was heating up like crazy. And so was my motherboard I/O area. It melted the cable, and burned my Ethernet port. It shut off my PC and tripped the breakers of my office and even my kitchen. I had to pull the cable out with pliers, it was literally seized inside the 2.5gbit port.
  23. I plugged a long Ethernet cable in to my computer from my wife’s work computer. So I could provide internet access to her system. Well, right after I plugged this Ethernet cable in it began liquifying the rubber housing on the Ethernet cable, I couldn’t unplug it because it was now stuck inside of the Ethernet port. My Unity-X started getting really really really hot in the I/O area. Then in the moment of panic and imagining cooking 13900K’s my PC completely shutdown on me, then I realized my chiller LCD was shut off too. I lost power to half the house as well. I flipped the breakers off and back on, and fortunately my PC survived this ordeal with no loss in function. Even that Ethernet port still works with some heavy burn marks on the side of the inner port. The Ethernet cable has metal around the plastic housing, so it looks like it touched metal to metal and grounded something I’m not sure. Anyone know WTH may have happen here though?
