I hate being tempted like this. This is an amazing DEAL!!! $1,700 bucks and already water blocked!! The RTX4080 version is $1300 I DONT NEED IT, I DONT NEED IT! I DONT NEED IT!! 🫣 https://www.grooves.land/inno3d-geforce-rtx-4090-ichill-frostbite-geforce-rtx-4090-gddr6x-384-bit-7680-4320-pixel-pci-express-x16-c4090-inno3d-hardware-electronic-pZZa1-2100886075.html?currency=USD&language=en&_z=us&camp=us_smart&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_PCf7I68gQMVvjHUAR0wegPbEAQYASABEgK4OvD_BwE -

Right but, it’s still only going to hold up so long. Maybe 1 year and then performance is going to degrade pretty quickly. I did my sons Xbox Series X, and we have got some huge gains in better temps and smoother performance. With standard thermal paste the exhaust heat was around 125F. Then with Liquid Metal the exhaust heat went to high 160’s. It’s really cool. But after the 2nd round of re-doing Liquid Metal, I went back to thermal paste on my sons Xbox. I am not taking that thing apart every 10-12 months or sooner lol. “DAAAAAAAADDDDDDDD!!!!!!!” ”The Xbox is freezing up again!!!!!!” “it’s Broken!!!!” -

The voltage slider in MSI Afterburner does work. It just works differently. If you set it to 100% it’s going to boost your core clocks by +15-30Mhz. You also need to set your voltage slider to 100% when you are undervolting for proper function. -

I’m sorry but, the 4090 Matrix Liquid Metal ain’t gonna hold up long. After 6 months or 1 year it’s gonna need some sanding and fresh LM. Especially LM on bare copper. -

I enjoy the COD campaigns!! I will set the hardest difficulty. And it usually takes me a week to get through. It’s so much fun. Being on hardest difficulty, you retry things over and over and over again. And it stretches the play time and dollar without re-playing through something. I have not bought those new ones yet. But I beat the regular COD MWF2 campaign from 2021 or 2022. It was fantastic. Speaking of EVGA, they are sending me a new thermal pad kit for my 3090KP HC 🙂 their thermal pads are great. And my warranty is almost expired, so it’s liquid Metal time. This service is so convenient because I don’t have to go research pad size and waste $50-$60 dollars lol. -

Back in the GTX series era, I was going through some GPU’s. I remember getting a RX480 right on launch, and it was very FAST! It had this abnormally high ASIC quality of 97 or 98% and it was just an excellent overclocker(I can’t remember what the ASIC meant). It screamed value competing with a GTX980 “Almost” though, and my sample was really good. It was short lived, as I got a GTX1070 on launch, mine had Samsung memory chips though but it was hit or miss (Earlier GTX1070 models usually had Samsung chips) I then got a GTX1080FE the following week which had Micron because it used the binned GDDR5X chips. I loved my GTX1080FE. I shunt modded it, and it was a real performer. This was my first time getting a high end GPU during a launch period. And I played lots of upscaled 4K content at 30-40FPS no problems at all. -

I do not understand all of the Asus hatred, if something happens it’s gonna happen😂. That GTX1070 seems okay right? I mean, GPU’s are a lottery especially on air cooling right? You may or may not get good overclocking memory IC’s, you may have a weak GPU. But it’s still performing with a stock GTX1080 🙂 Most of these “Strix” or other high end GPU’s offer one thing, and one thing only. And that’s “Cool and quiet performance” or “Non rattling noises” 😂 The rest is a gamble. How good is the core? How good is the memory? It’s all in luck. I don’t Asus bins anything in a Strix, they just use good marketing and have a big following. It’s luck in everything these days. Your PSU may suck, your motherboard, your GPU lol. -

@Mr. Fox Are you manually adjusting the PCH voltage for your Apex z790? I just saw that option in tweaker paradise. -

WOW! Not another AGP TO PCI-E moment…. Right now any and all graphics cards can fit in practically any motherboard/CPU combo available. And if this is true, here comes a stab in the ribs that is about to force all current production motherboards incompatible with those new “Power plug free” graphics cards. Hopefully that is not the case. Freedom of choice is nice, even if someone has a i7 7700K and wants to run a RTX4080 on it lol. -

People do modify the 3060 laptops and solder 12GB of vram to them. 🙂 You could probably get that done. As for mid range graphics cards they do offer a good bang for buck, the 3090 was the opposite of a “Bang for Buck” though 😂 When I bought it in 2021, I spent about $2,500 bucks on the GPU and the waterblock (This was a good deal during this time period of GPU pandemic though with normal retail pricing) High end PC parts are just depreciating assets after all. But you can upgrade less often with top shelf parts, having 24GB of vram seemed so crazy and overkill back in 2021 or even 2022 but now that we are in late 2023 it’s really cool. I’m just in no rush to spend even more money all just to play video games. I had a few lucky opportunities this year to get a 4090, unfortunately during those periods I had zero interest in PC parts. I was too intrigued by my other hobby which is Guns and suppressors. 🙂 -

It’s really not bad at all. It’s definitely fast enough for smooth 4K gaming. Really makes me serious about waiting to upgrade. I have never been able to get stable clocks like this on this card before. 2,250 in game and at 4K? Lol. It’s really strange. Not sure what has changed 🤷♂️ Obviously a 4090 smacks this thing around. But, I’m okay with that. -

Yeah that picture is awesome. Looks like an area where a Bigfoot/Sasquatch would be standing lol. I hear and read about something interesting, and that was about PCH temps on the Z790 Apex. If you can drop those temps it greatly increases memory stability. I believe one of Sugi’s buddies discovered this. And a few others confirmed. They all started water cooling their PCH 😂 Anyways, maybe that’s a start. -

That is a seriously difficult test to run while overclocked. I messed around with it last week for a bit, and I had to increase CPU voltage by +0.035 just to be able to reliably run it. -

I’ve really cranked the clocks on this 3090 for every frame I can possibly get. I’m kinda of surprised this is even working lol. Let it run cool enough, and this 2,205-2,220Mhz boost in game stays locked in for hours and hours and hours. My CPU is also at 6.1Ghz. Also got my 23Gbps on my GDDR6X. This GPU is really so fantastic for holding up to such abuse for so many hours. Pushing that 50 hour playtime mark in Starfield. I really need to throw on some Liquid Metal and gain another 15-30+MHz out of my GPU. I kind of like the thermal paste due to being able to neglect it though. Since 2021, I’ve had this card pulled apart at least 2 times for maintenance. -

I’ve heard they are capable of running the same temp as the water circulating under load. I’ve heard this so many times, no delta in temps. We’ll see though! I’m excited to see what 15C ram temps will provide. -

It’s an amazing deal for the kit!! And typically he only does small batches of these products, so when they are gone that’s it. I’m so ready to dump mine as well though. I’ve been really enjoying the 2x24 (7200) but during summer time I had to reduce MEM overclocks due to ambient heat. This is another pic of the top of the ram with block mounted. These are pretty much built for the Apex and as good as ram cooling gets. -

it includes everything. I’d order asap but only 2 left. I’ve been waiting on these for 1.5 years. Finding them used is close to impossible. (It’s actually impossible lol) people apparently asked him to make another batch of these for ram, and he finally had enough request(s) and he actually did it. His stuff is amazing though. The ram kit includes the blocks for (2) ram sticks for both sides, and the top manifold that directs water and mounts to the both ram blocks. He has a cheaper kit also which is a full kit too, but includes the less expensive clear polymer manifold instead of the solid copper manifold. And @Mr. Fox you only need (1) and it’s an entire kit, so either the one for $79, or the one for $93. This is the $79 dollar kit. -

I ordered my Super Cool DDR5 waterblock kit (Real memory watercooling)! 😁 My 2x24GB M-die’s will be on chilled water now 😂 Man oh man. I’ll be able to pass just about any memory stability test for however long so easily lol. 🤣 I am seriously excited for some DDR5 running like 15C lol. This is gonna be so stupidly glorious 😭 -

@Mr. Fox Look what’s in-stock!!! only (4) left. That includes both ram blocks, and ram waterblock manifold. These are actually watercooled over the memory IC’s. The only ram watercooling kit that offers it. The ram blocks are hollow them selves and water flows through them. 🙂 http://www.supercoolcomputer.com/en/product/41/water-block-ram-รุ่น-direct-chip-full-copper -

I have thought about sending him a project my self. I have a cracked 3090Ti. And I was considering letting him remove my GPUand the cracked PCB’s GPU, and throw the better clocking fully unlocked 3090Ti GPU on my 3090 Kingpin board. It would have to work right? 🤷♂️
