Be careful about TIMs with diamond, they tend to scratch the heatsink and the die, there's plenty info about that around the interwebz. Regarding Kryonaut, I don't have concrete information about its reliability, only comments about suffering of the dreaded 'pump-out' effect on laptops, due to turning way too liquid under the temps that lappys operate (over 80°C), which are not even close to desktops whose users cry at 60°C. The performance of Kryonaut is great afaik, top of the line, but for me TFX Thermalright works great. Have to repaste this machine though, it started to show degradation after 2 years.

well yeah, liquid metal, be them in liquid form or pad, performs better (I've seen something like -10°C or even -20°C depending on who's showcasing the product) compared to traditional TIMs based on silicone, but I don't know @ryan, I'm the kind of guy that goes for the safe approach, and knowing that liquid metal is conductive is a no-no for me, even taking precautionary measures like foam barriers, electrical tape and whatnot, it still wouldn't let me sleep easy knowing that for any strange or unfortunate circumstance the liquid may spill and fry my laptop. On the other hand I hope that in the future the graphite based pads get better, like the 'Carbonaut' or the 'IC graphite pad', for now they perform... hmm acceptable? but not better than a top of the line silicone TIM. Those graphite pads are conductive, yes, but at least they don't melt and potentially spill, and the best part is that you don't need to change them after 'X' amount of time, supposedly they don't degrade, and that translates into not having to go through the hassle of disassembling your laptop twice a year or once a year.

In your place, if I had the budget and currently looking for new hardware, I would start asking the veterans around the forum about Clevo, Sager, Eluktronics, XMG, and others, as I understand those brands are focused about custom hardware, custom software and oriented to the tinkerer or demanding user. What I mean is, the big and common brands like HP, Lenovo, Dell, etc, tend to be 'use our hardware/software as we designed it or get lost', if that's what you mean with that the things have changed.

well from my experience, in the past HP listed explicitly a G-Sync panel when it's available at the 'customize and buy', also the MUX switch at least on my laptop is non existent, because the intel HD graphics are disabled and locked at the BIOS. But you can always send them an email asking for a particular model.

Being humble is a virtue that needs more attention. Life tends to slap you in the face when you are inexperienced and think you know all the answers, and as personal experience, I still remember to this day, the day that I sat and smoke a cig with a homeless person, a couple of hours flew by and we parted ways with more than we had before we met. And of course not everything is sunshine and rainbows, as you say, one has to sort through some 'layers' to learn something new.

Exceptionally intelligent people tend to run out of answers to their questions and questions to their answers, so they turn to the greatest question/answer of all time: does God exist? is this reality the design (pattern) of a superior intelligence? These kind of people as intelligent as they are, they tend to see patterns in this reality and take them to heart looking for their ultimate answer, eg: Tesla and the number 3, Fibonacci sequence, fractals, constellations, etc. As humans, we are wired neurologically (via evolution, natural selection) to recognize patterns for the sake of survival and stability. Maybe there's a method for this madness: A bored God has a drawing board with the designs of everything past, present, future. Or maybe not, this existence is pure random crap that stuck to the wall long enough to create a self aware organic entity that questions everything. In my opinion IQ values over a certain number that determines that a person is 'normal' and can survive and thrive in a society, are not that important, because there's so many people with a high IQ score (including unbeknownst to them), but you don't see ALL of them developing the breakthrough of the millennia in every field of science and or theology every day. Also, there's a massively underrated form of intelligence, which is the emotional intelligence, that in my opinion, sets boundaries for the logical brain so we as humans don't become sociopaths or psychopaths. in short and for me at least: people are free to do whatever they want with their gift of brain functionality, but their outputs, their findings, opinions, etc, are as valid as the next fellow can confirm them, and the next fellow to the last, and so on.

Yup, that's quite impressive, now let's hope that the build quality is good enough to last for years, I don't mean to be negative, but you know chinesium quality is well known.

If the laptop is under warranty I would RMA and ask for a refund. If a product is almost brand new it shouldn't be giving that underwhelming performance. My laptop, an older model was performing great out of the box, I remember throwing at it demanding games for several months after I decided to repaste it because Cyberbug 2069 was melting my CPU regardless of the aggressive undervolting applied. Those temps, clocks and load are not good. Still, if you like the laptop you can always repaste (be careful about voiding the warranty) but don't expect a miracle. This is the part where many users in this forum start to rant about the poor design of laptops in recent years, lets see: Thin and light stupid garbage = insufficient cooling (not enough heatsink/fans) = gets really hot Every year more powerful CPUs and GPUs = MOAR POWARRRR = gets really REALLY hot How they address this? = Liquid metal TIM from factory + limiting the power available (each manufacturer sets those values restricting the wattage after they notice that the 'engineers' behind the design failed spectacularly) just my 2 cents.

Thank you @ryan that was great to watch. There are many sayings about genius and madness/insanity, they seem to go hand in hand, and that makes a really interesting but frightening characteristic of the human mind.

Maybe you should wait @RyleyI impressions. @seanwee already warned about someone that got it and the performance was worse than without a cooling pad. I've got a feeling that is already too late for this message 🤣

Even crazier is nano 3D printing according to the video. Nano scale "One nanometre can be expressed in scientific notation as 1×10⁻⁹ m, and as 1/1000000000 metres" that's smaller than cellular level, for reference organelles (mitochondria for example) in a cell are in order of micrometers - 1×10⁻⁶ metre; that is, one millionth of a metre. The next step would be angstrom and that's molecular level 😮 I mean there's actually humans crafting and shaping matter at that really really really small scale.

There's a friend of mine that is quite how do I say this, firm maybe? about his own opinions, the point is, a couple of years ago we were having a conversation amidst some hotdogs and beer, and he tried to convince me of the tick-tock model (according to him applied to general terms in technology) where the current tock was about power efficiency and that the future would be focused on this characteristic. Suffice to say, that I at that time was already an owner of a laptop with an RTX 2070, capped by the Max-Q design to fit the thermal and power constraint. I left him to be happy by agreeing with him after trying several times to prove to him that the Turing generation was indeed an increase in terms of performance, but still with a considerable power consumption increase. Maybe in CPUs this trend is getting better, more performance, less power, but with Nvidia you will have to get a dedicated industrial grade power supply to your house in the near future. I think I will have this conversation again with him just to troll him. -
Bravo!! those scores are great!!!! now, to keep windows from messing permanently with the changes that TS does (the reason why Unclewebb recommends a clean startup with the holding down shift while clicking shutdown) after each startup: I had to do this (disable fast boot) because the software that controls my laptop (Omen Gaming Hub 🤢🤮) tends to override the changes that I made in TS, also the registers modified by TS tend to get 'dizzy' after testing way to many changes in voltage offsets. One can only hope, that in our lifetime we might be able to finally witness the breakthrough that will enable the Human Race to become a spacefaring specie. But for now I can only dream of a future with Dr. Liara T'soni. Well Musk is kind of the poster boy of space travel, it wouldn't be an attention catching video without the thumbnail having Elon behind a podium with no less, the Nasa insignia AND a ship from Star Trek (sorry don't know the ship type or name 😅 don't vaporize me).

I've been tempted in the past to buy this .. thing 🤣 that claims to cool down your lappy beyond recognition with its dual blowers and hermetically sealed chamber of absolute freezing madness. The reviews seem positive enough though. but what concerns me is some kind of myth? or misinformation? around this kind of cooler that uses blowers instead of a regular fan, and that supposed problem would be damaging your laptop's own fans because of spinning way too fast beyond the intended max speed due to the volume and pressure of air inside that sealed chamber (4500 rpms at max speed from those blowers according to the manufacturer) any thoughts? https://www.amazon.com/IETS-Cooling-Flexible-Colorful-Adjustable/dp/B07WVK2ZZ9

so if I understood it right, the key is the weight assigned through 'training' the 'analog neurons' by substracting errors where each 'analog neuron' that outweighs or gets outweighed by other layers of neurons value in a particular case of defining which criteria/output/answer is delivered/applied through a matrix calculation that ultimately represents a quorum that reached an agreement??... what?? I'm not trying to be a smartass, it was really complex to try to comprehend all that info, and I'm glad that I don't have to solve those kind of problems 😅 however it may be, it's great to see how technology goes back to the basics (repurposing flash cells currently used for digital storage to analog calculations), and greatly improve those concepts in the pursuit of tackling a particular problem. Different tools for different problems, awesome 😄

Sadly error 43 is like the Check Engine light of VGAs so there might more factors involved eg: flashing gone wrong, faulty vram, thermals, insufficient power delivery, blah blah blah. -

Now that's interesting. I'm going to take a guess, but, it seems to me that something is dying between the monitor and the GPU. I've never had a monitor or GPU dying on me, but what you state there, that the screenshot doesn't capture the visual artifacts, makes me think that 'internally' the image is generated without problems. have you tinkered with this laptop? perhaps disassembly, repasting, cleaning? does your laptop have an intel GPU active (Intel HD Graphics for example) if yes, have you checked that the adapter for the Nvidia GPU is enabled in Device manager? does these visual artifacts appear with an external monitor/TV? I'd recommend taking a picture of the monitor with those artifacts, also check if in Device manager if 'this device is working properly', both the GPU and the monitor, or if there's any exclamation mark or question mark on the list, maybe an unknown device, or a missing driver?

I used Opera since its launch, until Opera 12. Then I switched to Vivaldi and never looked back. Vivaldi imho is truthful to the inception of Opera, since its original Developers quitted Opera and started their own project because the direction that Opera was taking. And as User I noticed that problem after Opera 12: I got lost with the aggressive changes in UI and behavior of the browser and felt that the browser wasn't 'mine'. It felt like visiting a supermarket that rearranged the shelves and aisles from scratch every damn time that I went there. So far, I can't complain, Vivaldi is perfect for my needs, even though it is starting to take the direction towards an AIO browser with calendar, email client, and many other stuff that gets added with each update (that I don't need). but the good thing for me is that it is absolutely easy to turn off the feature or any feature that you don't need and use the browser as you want it to be. Highly customizable to your needs is what I would call Vivaldi, also consistent: with each update you never find asking yourself 'what how do I do this as before? where is this button/feature now? where did they move this option? what the hell did they do to my custom experience?' -
so random thread: I'm sipping my morning coffee while wondering how I received a tube of Thermalright TFX of 6.2g when I ordered and paid accordingly for one of 2g. I hope that the guy or girl that packaged my parcel don't get in trouble 😕 that would suck
