Good thing I don't use Windows 11 on anything...well work related machines notwithstanding. My gaming rig with the 5900X/6800XT will never be upgraded to Windows 11...I am just waiting patiently until I find a good Linux gaming distro. I know many here hates W10, but it serves it purposes for my gaming needs. -

That's an excellent deal. I was going to pick up another (original XL) because of the SATA backplane, but the prices for it are still quite high. -

The Bykski even has an active backplate....very interesting. I wonder if they have the same for my 3090 FTW3 Ultra Hybrid. -

Perhaps it was not wise to use 10 Noctua NF-F12 iPPC 3000 PWM 120mm fans and allow Asus with its "Auto Fan Tuning" to control them. For some reason Asus thinks if the CPU hits 55 to 60C, you should run the chassis fans at 75%. Even with a thermalright SSD heatsink, my 980 PRO still idles at 60C. I think the GPU is blocking the air flow (the SSD sits under the GPU). I may have to get another M.2. PCIe card. -

When I saw how huge these boxes were, I was expecting them to be heavy. The box with the TG weighs a bit more, but still surprised the crap out of me on how lightweight they are. Building starts soon. -

I just ordered both the closed and TG editions of this case. Turning my 3960X and X299 builds into servers. -

I've been trying to convince the purchasing dept and a few dept heads from the school district we support to not buy Dell Alienware R15/R16 desktops. They want gaming desktops for the high schools with RGB EVERYTHING. Of course, my boss points them to me because of my former business and current small SI business. One of the bidders is offering a Dell R15 with a 13600KF and 4070 TI for 3200. Another is offering a Dell R16 with a 12600KF and 4070 TI for 3050 each. I mean, I never realized how bad some of these vendors could be. It is interesting to be on the other side of a bidding process. -

Perhaps its the former console gamer in me but here I am enjoying Everspace 2 (a spiritual successor to one of my favorite games of all time) and I am about to pick up Armored Core 6. The crazy thing is, I love Elder Scroll games but I cannot get into Bethesda's Fallout games. So if @electrosoft initial thoughts are true, I won't like Starfield. Shame. -

I have a distinct feeling that Nvidia is going to throw a haymaker at both in the near future with a refresh or something. We can shame Nvidia about their performance for the dollar or lack of VRAM, but the one thing Jensen does not like is to lose in actual performance to AMD or Intel. I wouldn't put it past Nvidia to release a 4080 TI or something to remind the market that they are still the overpriced leader. -

It's funny that people would claim that GN created these LTT videos to gain subscribers and views. The tech community cheered GN on when they called out Intel, Nvidia, AMD, Gigabyte, MSI, Asus, Newegg, Artesian and other tech companies on their bad products, poor customer service policies and misleading marketing/lies. Yet, when it comes to LMG, which is now considered a major tech company, GN is going for clicks and subscribers. Love him or hate him, Steve has been like this since the beginning of his channel. As I stated in a previous post in this thread, Steve is egotistical. There is no denying that. But, he is one of the few that uses it for the good, not just to line his pockets. Once he makes a monetized video about adding expensive computer/servers in his home to be cooled by his newly made pool, then I will change my tune. -

It is all going to blow over shortly. New Hardware from AMD and Intel will mend the wound. The question is will it be infected? Back on topic. When I sell this PC, should I get a pre-owned 4090 due to the voltage limit that is on some of the brand new cards or just try my luck at a retail unit? -

I am on the side of GN. Both Steve and Linus have an egotistical mindset, however, Steve usually uses his for the good of all consumers. I have commented on his video that I will be supporting him and I have also privately email him (he responded to me in both). I told him I wanted to support his work because I now know these videos are going to hurt him and his team. LTT is a powerful corporation and Steve's videos will have major ramifications. He knows it. Some of LTT's fanbase are claiming that these videos were Steve's last ditch effort to somehow damage LTT's lab efforts (i.e. Steve is somehow afraid that LTT labs are going to kill his technical reviews). Laughable. -

And now the Tech Tuber war have started. Gamers Nexus/Hardware Unboxed Vs LTT. Essentially, old school tech testing vs tech entertainment. Going to be very divisive on YT. EDIT: Jayz is staying far from this potential conflict, lol. 2nd EDIT: I can't believe how much of the tech tuber community is on Gamer Nexus's side. Of course, the LTT fanbase is calling GN and others out. I curious to how the LTT "CEO" is going to handle this. Unfortunately for Steve at GN, I think his video about LTT is going to hurt him, even though this is very much constructive criticism in its purest form. There are too many kiddos that watch and love Linus and his antics. -

From Mr. Fox's review: "It is an excellent option for anyone that doesn’t need to liquid cool their graphics card and memory. At this point, I would consider a custom loop for cooling only a CPU to be frivolous expense for most purposes when there is an AIO that works as well as the EK Nucleus AIO CR360 Dark." The main advantage of a custom loop is to add additional heat producing components. A really good to great AIO CPU cooler can match a custom watercooled CPU loop when coolant temps normalize, yes even with a MO-RA3 rad. It just takes longer to heat soak the custom loop with a MO-RA3 rad. -

Thanks. It is for sale locally. I had to really tame my desire to go full custom loop on this build, otherwise I would be keeping it. Saving bit by bit to get me a set of Vespid Prime lenses. -

I have built many all white PCs for clients, but never for myself. The main reason is how the color ages on different materials. A couple of years of use and most white components become dull and discolored. Keeping the build clean is much harder, as it will showcase dust far more than darker colors. I agree with you, you have to really want an all white build. Perhaps why the ASUS Strix 3090 OC White card is still in demand...it goes for 1k whereas most 3090's are around 750 to 900. -

Introducing the OMG ARGB WOW All White PC - This PC can blind the crap out of you with the amount of ARGB elements - Now lets see if someone bites. I think due to its $2200 price, there are not going to be a lot of buyers. -

I must admit, EK's AIO tend to be good to really good...usually better than almost all of their competitors. Their experience in watercooling shows with the coldplate design. I am a fan of their discontinued semi-open Phoenix line of AIO's (they were essentially a premade loop with a DDC pump and their EK quick disconnects) but I haven't tested the new one I just got. I only purchased it to have something on hand to test the CPUs I am buying second-hand. Does it rival a normal 360 custom loop? -

Sold all of my "spare part" PC builds. Now I am going to build my all white SUPER ARGB OMG WOW PC featuring the Asus Strix Z690 D4 mobo, Asus Strix 3090 White edition and 12900K. I was going to do a custom loop, but I know that will only increase the cost. I have elected to pick up a white AIO. It will be for sale locally, but I will make sure to take a few photos for you all white build fans 😂 On Prime Day the SN850X was $229.99 when I picked it up. I am not sure if Camelcamelcamel takes Prime Day deals into account. I am kicking myself for not buying a couple more at that price. Now is the time to buy as much storage as you can, because most of the NAND flash producers have slowed or stopped production to force prices to go back up. -

I admit AMD's drivers can be buggy, especially when overclocking a card near its silicon limits. With that said, that 6900XT is technically a 6950XT. Same core, as you know. The software likely saw it as a normal 6900XT and put in those limits. -

So they admitted the adapters have a higher chance of melting. I think someone in CableMod's legal dept needs to tell this guy to shut up at this point, because all he is doing is providing more evidence for a potential lawsuit....yes even if they are repairing all damaged GPUs. I can see someone wanting damages based off loss wage potential and more. -

You are correct on that. Buyers are looking to exploit all preowned hardware. It's definitely a buyer's market out there. For example, I briefly put up for sale, my Asus Zenith II Extreme Alpha, 3960X and 128GB (8 sticks) of G.Skill 3600MT RAM for $2100 (all of that cost me around 3.7K). I had people offer me 1000 or even 800 for everything. I decided to keep it and turn it into a server. -

I found my new server case for my AMD TR build. The ENTHOO PRO 2 SERVER edition. It is coming to market in mid August and I am going to pick up two closed editions. I really wish they included more 3.5'' drive cages than they do...this is supposed to be a server case. I am going to put my X299 mobo in the other and make another storage server.
