  1. Does this version come with bonus rust though?
  2. Yeah but that's like saying I tuned my 5L V8 engine and got more than a whole 1.0L 3 cylinder eco boost out of it.
  3. Normally with shunt modding my concern is the VRMs but in this case it's the connector 😄
  4. It's hard to really lay anything down on a fully sold out market. AMD ran through their stock as did Nvidia. I got mine at MSRP and have found the drivers much better for my use case.
  5. We will see, whatever your views the proof will be in the eating on that one. There is some execution detection going on and self limiting going on with certain instruction inputs.
  6. Decent cooler/Voltage tweak/fan curve tweak gets them into safe levels. I run a slight undervolt and then a power reduction that keeps me around stock performance levels for a boat load less power which is nice at the moment.
  7. The rumour is this month and last month is a price lul with stock brought in before tariffs, then as that dries up as we go into back to school and christmas prices will rise again and could a fair amount.
  8. Given the nature of the small SSD and it being solid storage based rather than a hard drive (where you can get magnetic echoes and have space that may never have been overwritten) I think it's unlilkely you would get anything back.
  9. It's more there is not volume inside for air to flow around them so they go from being heatsinks to thermal mass that just traps the heat.
  10. The mobile 3080ti core just can't scale either due to the reduced ROP count for it's size or memory bandwidth compared to the mobile 3080 core at the power levels of the 3080 mobile even shunt modded. A 3080 mobile with the 0.9v voltage limit raised in the 210W range IMO would still make more sense power/performance wise.
  11. Picked up the NAS on the left for pretty cheap 2nd hand and repaired the one on the right from work. Left one will backup the right one, need to scrounge some disks for that, the primary will be the 3x12TB in raid 5 and a 500GB SSD for the OS.
  12. I got my picture and name/details all updated on my passport ready for ours trip to Amsterdam 🙂
  13. I have a work laptop (Lenovo T14 thinkpad) and my old GS30 that I use for things like dumping microSD footage or programming my car's ECU. But otherwise I just have my phone and tablet while on the go (S7+ tablet which I use for my choir sheet music mostly and flip 6 phone which fits really easily into a handbag or even evening little black bag). The Gen5 capable riser from my old case did not fit the new bracket on this case so I drilled a couple of extra holes in the PCB to make it work 🙂
  14. No, I think i'm sorted for now. I think I will wait CPU wise for the next AM5 gen.
  15. Decided to change out my case, also got a new card after a bearing issue with the fans. This one seems much happier.
  16. https://www.3dmark.com/sn/4335867 Best result so far.
  17. I just hope they hit that sweet spot and keep the drivers up, if they can get some volume and purchase in the market it will be a good thing.
  18. They focussed their driver and wafer capacity on a single die, we may see a 9070XTX with an even higher TDP, faster/denser ram. But that's it I think this gen.
  19. The MEG display has been a trooper so far, seems even happier with the 9070xt than it did the 4070.
  20. Now without pigtailed connectors lol. Grabbed the corsair type 4 premium single end cables.
  21. The 12VHPWR can be used as 2 8 pins with the last cable and it looks like they come with 3 single ended 8 pin cables and a pigtail cable, so the 1200W cable comes with 7 total 8 pin connector ends.
  22. I guess it depends what you want really, it's not an XOC model for sure, but that last 30-40W the other models is not a huge difference. This way I get the vast majority of the performance in something that I can keep the same case with.
  23. £560 here in the UK on launch day (so $600 equivalent after taxes) but it took a fair amount of effort. The reaper is good for that, no effort on lighting etc and genuinly two slot and normal full length.
  24. I've seen peaks of about 486W but gaming loads about 380W on the new setup at the wall. So no stress for my 750W 🙂
  25. 12527 in timespy extreme. https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/127686533
