  1. I moved my 32GB kit into Alison's PC and picked up a 48GB kit of patriot 6000 CL36, it has lights so of course is 10% faster 😄
  2. I just checked my old machine and turns out it was the CPU that died, fired right up with the 9600KF so I have a P870TM3 kit with original heatsinks and a 1080.
  3. I got a soundblaster X3 refurbished off ebay for a bit under half retail and it's a pretty solid product. Now I have external speakers I wanted an easy way to swap between those and an analogue headset and my motherboard audio was on the "meh" side. I have to say it is a nice step up as well as having the extra outputs and was worth it.
  4. As an update to mine I've been keeping an eye on the level, I got it just below max on the dipstick and it has not been dropping much 🙂
  5. Ian of tech tech potato who worked there many years had some interesting stories behind the scenes which he has talked about. Worth a watch.
  6. Let us know, mine is not great either to be fair.
  7. Engine mods: Bored out 0.5mm 10:1 compression forged pistons and rods beehive valve springs ported exhaust ports and turbo inlet on manifold Hybrid/stuffed turbo Performance parts: Front mount horizontal intercooler with GFB blow off valve/recirc (can choose percentage of each) Sports cat downpipe Borla touring exhaust K&N intake with cold air coming in from where the intercooler used to be DW300c fuel pump M45XL spark plugs Over 250 BHP and 300Ft/lbs in a 1250kg car.
  8. Well I replaced the cluster, took off the steering wheel to be sent off for re-wrapping, fitted a new centre computer, fixed the speakers inside. Then I replaced the fuel pump, fit a front strut brace and gapped/fitted the spark plugs with a new set of coils where I replaced the connectors on teh harness. So I think I am further down this slope already! I need help 😄
  9. I've always had a service plan and had someone else do it but today I changed it myself for the first time 🙂
  10. https://www.3dmark.com/sn/1192179 Slightly better score as I've dialled in the GPU volt/freq curve.
  11. Here we go, got the feet which are useful 🙂 I'll be putting some noctua fans with the anti vibration mounts on the bottom to exaust out the bottom rather than intake when they arive later but the overall finish is done. Here are a couple in progress pics:
  12. No, the core position is different so the stock heatsink wont match up with the die and mounting holes.
  13. http://www.3dmark.com/sn/1150962 4043 points 4070 @ 2734Mhz core clock +1000 mem
  14. So I am leaving the 7700 at stock as in this setup there is not much point to a few % extra for double the power consumption. 7700 is hitting about 65C under load with the fans quiet. IF clock is 2166Mhz, mem is now running stock timings but at 6400Mhz with a 1:1 Memory controller clock. This should keep it nice and efficient. Just waiting on some nice 3d printed feet for the case which will help it stand up a bit and look neat along with a couple of high pressure noctua fans to go in the bottom.
  15. My GPU did not die, that's gone to someone else who is having fun. It was the motherboard with too much mounting pressure on the CPU side I think.
  16. My laptop journey has come to and end, I think the heatsink I had was mounted with a bit too much pressure and with thermal cycles it has given up. As such I have already sold a fair amount of parts from it and have been putting together the following setup for now: Ryzen 5 7700 with thermalright 240mm AIO Asrock A620i Lightning wifi 32GB DDR5 6000 CL38 EXPO profile Nvidia RTX 4070 12GB dual fan from MSI 2TB WD 770 + 1TB SN961 Intel AX211 Wifi card Louqe ghost S1 mini ITX case with bottom hat and top hat extensions 500W Silverstone SFX-L PSU Going for a nice quiet and compact build, I might swap out the motherboard later when I need the higher end IO or want to overclock the CPU but this will do me well for now and I got it for a good 2nd hand price. At the moment the RTX4070 is in my old MSI GS30 dock and that's tiding me over.
  17. I never had internal G-Sync but external is flawless and yeah 1920Mhz locked clocks in games is very helpful.

  19. I'm still making my way through forbidden west and playing at 4k with quality DLSS while streaming allocating 15GB of vram lol./
