They responded to my ticket almost instantly, they said it's by design so they're international ready. I did ask if there was a ANSI one to order. EDIT: They said they would reach out to the Purchase Department and let me know when it came in.

So here is the bottom cover pulled off for my drive install. I went ahead a just left the stock pads and IC Diamond, I'll do a full repad and paste in 6 months once I see temps creep up a bit. This is CB R23 with auto fans both are on Performance Mode This is with Max Fans Userbenchmark's Stress Test on max fans

So got the laptop. Lookd great, took a few pictures of the interior when I installed my sticks and drives but when I go to install Windows 10 it's not detecting any drives. Little stumped as the drives show up in bios. EDIT: Figured it out. For posterity just disable the Intel VMD Controller and it will read the drive. Felt like I was taking crazy pills there for a sec.

This was an issue with the ship getting stuck in China for COVID. Something that was sadly out of Eurocom's hands. They did offer multiple times to give me the 1080p screen but I was in zero rush. I'm ready to ditch 1080p for 2K. Maybe the switch will be function here? I have no idea. I'm guessing that Eurocom have said it isn't enabled.

QHD screens finally showed up and it was sent to production. What's Eurocom's average turnaround time again?

Yep, agree. YMMV. They're roughly the same so pick a few and see what fits your situation the best. Anything beats stock paste usuAllly.

Kryonaut Extreme works great personally. I think the issue with it is people have said that over a long period of time it has degradation effect. I don't think it's been available long enough to test that. I know regular kryonaut suffered with breakdown over 80C. Kingpin KPX is also quite good but not sure of the long term viability.

Still no update. I think Eurocom are sick of me chiming in every week but hopefully hear something soon. The things we do for the things we want.

Looking for a MXM GPU to fit the MSI 16L13 (Eurocom Tornado F5) since mine appears to hit the bricks. If this is still up, I'm still looking.

Looks like the slow boat with QHD got locked down in China due to COVID. EC is gonna have an update, will report back. Lmao. QHD is worth it tho.

Glad to hear about the weight and noise. Are they replacing the keyboard? I wonder how much of a pain it is to replace that. Looks like my QHD screen is locked down due to COVID so no word on when build will finish. Lmao. Anything you don't like? How's the heat/audio/is it a fingerprint magnet?

The heck on the missing heatpipe? Did you get the 3060 or the 3070? How's the fan noise under load? How's the weight? Any flex on the keyboard when typing?

Ended up seeing a steal on a 1700 board + 12700k (wasted on this laptop board with the locked BIOs but can't complain) and DDR5 RAM with Dying Light 2 for 450 which will be here Thursday. I'm getting it as a gift for the wife since she's still rocking a 8600k so I'll likely kick her the 12600 when it gets closer to her birthday in the summer along with the components and take the 12700k so I'll run some benches well before that happens. Figure I'll just swap it in with the first repasting if I'm not happy with the temps from Eurocom. I'm hesitant to move to a 12900 since I hear this gen runs really really hot. As far as the QHD, I tried it on another laptop and I don't think I can go back to 1080p especially for gamedev. The real estate is just so juicy and 17" is too much machine to lug around back and forth everyday to work. I am curious has anyone seen any laptop skins/keyboard covers for this Clevo yet? I'm keeping my ear to the ground on Aliexpress and I haven't seen anything. Must be too new. My current F5 Tornado has been wrapped up since day one as I hate seeing wear on my keys/rest. Going to be annoying to not be able to wrap it from day one.
