GPU prices was already overpriced as far back as 2013 if you wanted an high end GPU. Also stores normally charge a higher price than the MSRP to make a profit for obvious reasons, its the same rule for every product in the world and its what i based my pricing on. Fast forward to 2020 Covid caused problems with the supply lines. When you have a product with a low supply and high demand the price will go way up because its very hard to get, that what caused the GPU shortage, Companies barely had any workers because of the lockdowns and ofc places who had an RTX 2080 or even a RTX 3080 was charging crazy prices for them including scaplers. GPU prices are dropping now because the supply lines are slowly getting back to normal and the world is ready to move on from covid, it has nothing to do with tariffs like the media says. If we have a supply issue again with GPUs expect the prices of GPUs will go back up especially with inflation going on now. Anyways lets get back on topic: -

Not that i know of but then again i dont play MP games like that anymore but when i did play, gamers would lower their settings to low on purpose to get as much FPS as possible to gain an advantage even when their PCs can easily run them on max settings among with other factors like latency issues, lag, rubberbanding and etc. Like i said its noticeable on fast paced games for example e-sports type games like PUBG, Valorant, COD Warzone, CSGO and so on. Also its the reason why high refresh screens are very popular with gamers. Sorry but blaming tariffs and our former president is just a terrible excuse because GTX 1080s including the Ti version cost nearly $1000 back in 2016 in most stores. Also the Titan GPUs cost over $1000 as far back as 2013. In other words high end GPUs always been overpriced before covid hit compared to midrange GPUs which cost half the price of high end GPUs. -

Its noticeable on fast paced games for example e-sports type games like PUBG, Valorant, COD Warzone, CSGO and so on Also playing games on maxed out settings is great if you've the right hardware but in most cases its pointless because there isnt much of a difference in graphics between high and ultra settings. You're losing a lot of FPS for nothing and this have been proven over and over Sadly people who cares about maxing out every game out there are the reason why GPUs are overpriced as hell and that was before covid hit. -
My Legion 5 charger died on me while it was charging, The wire started to smoke and caused a spark and nearly severed the wire. Luckily my laptop wasnt damaged nor a fire was started in my home. Good thing i extended my warranty when i did otherwise i would be paying over $100 for a new charger..... Lenovo is sending me a replacement charger but it wont be here until later this week, its bad timing because i have a work project i need to finish and my old HP Envy laptop barely works anymore... 😡

Thanks for the info!. Hopefully i made the right choice going with the paste version instead of the sheet (Pad) version. There isnt much talk about the paste version on reddit but If this paste is good as people say then it might be the best thermal paste for gaming laptops with good longevity after a few years

Yea it is strange. I rolled back to 20H2 last night but the same problem still happens and i figured out the problem, It turns out to be a hardware issue with my battery, I recently purchased another 80WH battery this past week from Amazon after the last 2 80wh batteries i bought from 2 other sources were defective and this one charges way too fast with fast charging off like 60watts like i have it on and with fast charging on it would charge over 100watts which it way beyond normal and also it would throttle at times when playing games because of it, They're shipping me a replacement battery and should be here sometime this week. I'll try 21H2 again after that i think.
-
Im sure most of you know that Microsoft forced users to install 21H2 this week on Windows update because i was still using 20H2 and unfortunately i was one of its victims. The update itself only took about 3-5 mins to install which to me its strange but anyways after the update my laptop started being unstable, at first i thought everything will be fine without doing a clean install because it was a small update like 21H1 i think but my laptop is running hotter in games even games like American Truck Simulator and at times when plugging in the AC Adapter my CPU will lock at 2.8GHz and i would have to put my laptop on standby and start it again to get it back to normal clock speeds. There are other issues im noticing as well but im not completely sure. Anyone have these issues after the upgrade? I really dont want to reinstall windows but i will if have to.
-
Yea its a good thing. 8% is still pretty low for a new OS after almost 6 months. Its no surprise because there are barely any changes from Windows 10. I heard some new laptops that came with Windows 11 preinstalled are having software issues out of the box, It happened to a friend of mine and i helped him to install Windows 10 on it and now he no longer having issues.
-
That's interesting. Last i checked the marketshare for Windows 11 was at 8% and Windows 7 still has around 12% and Windows 10 at near 75%. https://gs.statcounter.com/os-version-market-share/windows/desktop/worldwide 1% is very low for an OS that been out for almost 6 months so im kinda skeptical about that

This^ Uncle Sam is taking more of my money and my refund is lower than last year 😭

Any updates? because i been thinking about trying this paste as i heard good things about it and its very effective especially with gaming laptops. Lenovo Legion laptops uses this paste as their stock paste i think but its in sheet form. The SYY-157 i been using doesnt last long. Even after repasting my laptop with it again after 7 months im already experiencing temp spikes up to 105C when playing GTA V after a few weeks, Not sure if im doing something wrong or its a thing with AMD CPUs.

Looks awesome but terrible optimization, Typical console port I hate when companies cater to consoles when PCs has way better specs than any console. Its bad when it cant hit 60FPS on a RTX 3090 on 4k. I know its just a demo but its true capabilities is being held back by consoles

Sadly its not staged and i kinda wish it was because he went from a beloved actor to one of the most hated actors atm. He resigned from the Oscars and they might take away his Oscar and now he supposedly going to rehab. Might be a good thing for him at least he'll be away from his toxic wife.

This is tough because i played a lot of games in my life old and new. Here my top 5 favorite games of all time. Super Mario Bros 3 Grand Theft Auto San Andreas Metal Gear Solid Red Dead Redemption 2 Far Cry 3 Honorable Mentions: Just Cause 2, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Medal of Honor Allied Assault, The Mortal Kombat trilogy, and the Sonic genesis trilogy (1,2,3 and Knuckles)

Why they're making it such a big deal?. A small increase of battery size is not going to change anything with battery life with those specs especially with a 12gen Intel CPU. Also a 17-inch laptop is not really portable at all even if its a thin and light laptop, they're called desktop replacements for a reason. If consumers are willing to spend $4000 for a Razor Blade 17 gaming laptop with a 3080ti, portability is the last thing on their minds...

Whenever they're tired of milking GTA Online to death lol. They keep saying its under development and they made an official announcement about it a month ago but there no info about the game at all. I'll say 2024 at the least.

I did a fan cleanup and a repaste on my Legion 5 sometime last week after temps was starting to hit 102C at times when gaming. Finally had some time to run some benchmarks. Cinebench: 3Dmark Timespy: 3DMark Firestike: GPU-Z Overclocked 1660ti Core: 160MHz+/Memory: 500MHZ+: I think my results are better than expected for a 4800H/1660ti laptop -
I hope its not the case this year because it makes no sense because Dell uses it for all of their gaming laptops including Alienware with the AMD models. I havent heard anything about the AMD models as of yet.
-
They're not good at all and its only a grabcash imo. The gameplay is mostly the same, Most of the songs are not in the game anymore because of copyrights reasons and I dont know if they fixed the lack of fog in GTASA or not.

Some reviews are out about the new Legion 5 Pro Gen 7 https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-Legion-5i-Pro-16-G7-Review-Gaming-Laptop-now-with-Alder-Lake-and-RTX-3070-Ti.610467.0.html It uses advanced optimus as well. I dont know when the AMD version will be released

I havent watched the Oscars nor any award shows in years because they're mostly the same especially the virtue signaling crap. I didnt know about the slap until i received a notification of a news article about it on my phone. At least the memes of it was pretty funny! A certain celebrity killed someone on set and nothing happened to him as of yet.

DDR5 is still new so its going to take more time for it to mature, Even looking at the benchmarks its still not worth the price for it right now imo especially with real world testing. The only good thing about DDR5 is that it caused DDR4 RAM prices to drop!.
