  1. You're still being vague with your answers and you still hasnt mentioned what type of gaming performance you're looking for. Just go with a RTX 4090 laptop and be done with it, You'll destroy every game out there on 1440p especially with DLSS and Frame Gen turned on,Many different brands has them like ASUS, Lenovo, Razer, MSI, Dell/Alienware and etc, and there are often paired with a Intel i9-13900HX CPU. You can go to your local store like Best Buy to test them in person to see if you like the screen, build quality and so on, The decision is up to you. You can even go with a 3070ti or 3080ti laptop has there been crazy sales on them, Anything will be better than your old GTX 1070 laptop.
  2. 😆😆 The Cameraman is the hero we needed!. Also the dancers kept dancing to their routine during the mess 😁
  3. This. Even with the template is still hard for us to suggest anything if you're not specific especially with an unlimited budget, even with that it doesnt mean you should spend a crazy amount of money for a gaming laptop, there are other factors to consider like build quality, upgradeability, keyboard, port selection and so on. Also a RTX 4050 is the entry level GPU in the 40 series and it has the same performance as the RTX 3060, its good for 1080p gaming but QHD+ is where it shows it weakness. I would say go no unless than a RTX 4080 because it destroys last gen best laptop GPU RTX 3080ti by over 30% with the addition of DLSS 3/Frame Generation which only 40 series GPUs support. There are many options out there.
  4. Drinking a glass of El Jimador. Been a long and tiring week.
  5. I remember that thread and @kojack is still stuck on that even though its been debunked over and over even on here and refuses to let it go. You aint going to get full power on a laptop on battery no matter what you do especially with Intel and AMD U processors. Also OEM's adds their own tweaks as well. We're up to the 7000 series with AMD and 13th Gen with Intel and you cant do any wrong with either one these days.
  6. Mind well post this one too because its reliable but this guy is more entertaining and informative!. Cant escape from the castration!.
  7. Yea agreed and its one of the reasons why people buy overpriced Macbooks every year. The weakness of thin and light laptops that almost everything is soldiered to the motherboard... (RAM, WIFI card, and even the SSD) This year would of been a good opportunity to revive DTR laptops because this year's Intel and AMD CPUs are close to desktop level performance.
  8. There are some RTX 4090 options on lenovo's site but you're going to be spending over $3000 for one especially in your country (Canada) unless you get lucky with coupons and using cashback sites like Rakuten, Honey, and etc. Here the cheapest one i can i find https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1745684-REG/lenovo_82wq002tus_16_legion_pro_7.html I think @saturnotaku posted this link before.
  9. It is possible due to the fact that the RTX 4050, RTX 4060, and RTX 4070 dont use their full wattage.
  10. Yea true. Not only the weight but they complain about thickness even though its still pretty thin as hell like most modern desktop replacements. A real behemoth would be the old alienwares and even the old Toshiba Satellite X205 aka Qosmio which my brother had. That thing was thick as hell and ran very hot. Good times!. @PapusanLooks like NVIDIA are releasing a 16GB VRAM version of the RTX 4060Ti https://www.notebookcheck.net/Nvidia-GeForce-RTX-4060-Ti-rumoured-to-arrive-with-two-VRAM-configurations.716155.0.html
  11. When Jarrod does his reviews he also tests non-gaming 3D workloads especially content creation apps. I agree with you that a GPU is also a worktool but if people are going to use it for work too they'll avoid buying a laptop that screams gaming laptop in looks and design. Some gaming laptops like the Lenovo Legion series looks more like a thinkpad/business laptop more than a gaming laptop
  12. Like Jarrod said in the video the GPUs are being voltage limited and its by design. You're basically wasting money for the higher wattage version. Damn... personally i dont expect a mid range GPU to have more than 8GBs VRAM. It seems to be aimed at 1080p and 1440p gamers. Even older GPUs would go overboard with the VRAM amount because NVIDIA and AMD was tricking people to make them think that higher VRAM amounts means higher performance Also this is worst than the VRAM amount. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/geforce-rtx-4060-ti-retailer-listed-specs-look-worse-than-rtx-3060-ti
  13. Remember when higher wattage = higher performance. Those days are now dead and Nvidia is scamming people hard..
  14. Its a not surprise. Companies will do whatever it takes to fleece the consumer to make more profit.
  15. Looks like the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro also been downgraded worse than the 7 The RTX 4070 is still a disappointment for the price..
  16. Its clear that the boycott worked. It makes no sense for them trying to cater to a cult that dont even drink their products. Hope the same happens to other companies that gone woke and political for no reason and listen to nutjobs on twitter and other social media sites. Bud Light is a trash beer and i dont drink it, only reason people buy it because its cheap as hell and good for parties without spending too much for a case, but sadly AB also makes some of my favorite beer brands and partners with some favorite craft/local beers...
  17. The PC port of the game is awful but the memes are pretty funny😆 https://www.pcgamer.com/the-last-of-us-pc-port-is-bad-but-the-bugs-are-great/
  18. Time moving so fast.... Maybe its one of the cons of getting older but still the days are just flying by. 2023 just started and its almost April already...
  19. Its a not surprise, According to the latest steam survey only 2% of users are using Windows 7/8.1 on steam. Also most known web browsers already dropped support Still sucks though....
  20. Yea true after watching Jarrod's video.... Like i said in another thread they're making DLSS3/Frame Generation as the selling points for the mid range GPUs.
  21. Yeah it depends on the type of games you run, For open world games like Hogwart's Legacy it going to use more CPU power as you can see in the video and it boosts at normal clocks. The crippling is already bad enough but if OEM's are going to put in powerful CPUs like these they need make their laptops thicker and bigger to handle the heat. 18inch laptops are already desktop replacements and you're not going carry it around to work or school. What a bad solution from Dell, All that does is to prevent the CPU from boosting and make it throttle which is going to lower temps and performance!.
  22. Its still boosting over 4GHZs and it even reached to 5GHZ when he was testing Hogwart's Legacy. Also yes the 40 series uses dymanic boost same as the 30 series GPUs, that hasnt changed one bit. The crippling is already bad enough but at the same time the system is still averaging over 90Cs in CPU temps which isnt good for longevity and the Razor blades uses a vapor chamber cooling and liquid metal and it still averaging over 90Cs. After watching most of his videos it seems like only laptops with the I9-13980HX allows it to boost over 5GHz and remains there and using over 100W. Same goes with the Ryzen 9 7945HX as well Dell/Alienware are still pretty bad especially this year, they cheaped out on the display, locked out undervolting (but might add it again in a BIOS update after more customers complain about the temps), Inverted Motherboard again making it very difficult to repaste and the list goes on...
  23. It looks like it only affects the Razer Blade 16 and not the 18 as proven here with the same exact specs. He also tested the Blade 16 too and yeah its pretty crippled
  24. Yeah the mid range 40 series are pretty disappointing since they've been castrated. a RTX 4060 is near the performance of a RTX 3070Ti and RTX 3070. You can still get them cheaper than most 40 series laptops atm. Glad the Slim kept the same design of last year's model and the IQO has GSYNC and a 1080P webcam which is great for a budget gaming laptop, the small 60WH battery is a turn off, should of went with at least 80Wh battery.
  25. Lenovo announced the new Legion Slims and their newest gaming laptop brand called LOQ which replaces the Ideapad and probably the Legion 5 series. https://news.lenovo.com/pressroom/press-releases/legion-slim-series-laptops-power-agility-gamers-creators/
