  1. the average score for timespy and a 4090 is roughly 30k the average score for timespy and a 4090 mobile is roughly 20.5k 50 percent disparity but then again its like 4x the size and non portable, the thing thats concerning is the naming and prices. as you have stated we are getting 4070 levels of performance, would it hurt to call it a 4070. If you don't like portability desktop is still the way to go but if you ever need to travel the answer is obvious. I wonder why with the passage of time and tech advancement cell phones have gotten increasingly advanced and tiny yet desktops have remained the same beasts of yesteryear.
  2. I have to agree, alot of people jump ship each year. just for bragging rights. I persoanlly have lasted 2.5 years with my 3060 and 11800h and wont be using r24. Im glad I waited because the wait to get a 5090 laptop will soon be over, nows a good time to save up. 500 here 500 there. will have 40 000 in no time lol. geesus have laptops gotten expensive, still a better buy than desktops. you can just fold and off you go, and with 80-90 percent of desktop performance. heres hoping we see another pascal generation. It's good timing because GTA 6 will be out by the time 5090 laptops are out and it should be able to run it at 4k medium.
  3. it will be interesting to see how the 1060-4060s hold up. I dont think ill see anything past single digits but it ill be nice seeing where were at. I can still game at 1080p and 1440p is weak in the knees, and 4k although possible 2 years ago, its now a distant memory. I don't think ill be going mid range again, although its true by the time next gen is out the top tier card may be obsolete, look at the 1080 holding its ground even in 2024, utterly incredible. That was not my highest score, just a metric for the new drivers, I think my top score just broke 9500 in gpu with timespy. 100- points off isn't the end of the world and the added features like AI upscaling make the trade offs worth it. I think im going to start comparing with high quality filtering and 4x AF from now on just to give me an accurate or more accurate guage of what to expect gaming wise. the difference is about 300-400 points but heres my underclocked cpu and overclocked gpu and gaming settings gauge. this is my new baseline, its what I game with. I can increase the cpu clocks a bit more but temps hit 90c and other components get too hot causing laptop to shutdown, so yeah not the brightest idea increasing cpu speed
  4. did you guys see the media surrounding the florida joker? what a gong show, guy seems like a nice guy but is asking 10 million for looking like one unimportant character. he is famous overnight he should be happy for that alone.
  5. its still a decent title. I also stopped playing it, just lost interest but might give it another go. games need to start pushing the boundary. nothing new, same ole graphics same ole quests, nothing worth writing home about. I hope moving forward we get at least 1 crysis every decade
  6. thats a crazy score. basically desktop level performance. and 24000. I can't wait for the 5090, I think that would be the perfect time to pounce. its not that the performance hasn't caught up its just games/games are not coming out, the only game im looking forward to is gta 6. other than that theres nothing but crickets. no word of rdr3 and the only good game this year is GOTY baldurs gate 3. when my 3060 baby is pushing 30fps at 4k that sucker is pumping 81fps Im using high performance texture filtering and although it looks like garbage scores go up a bit...will post my graphics settings and score in a few
  7. found a forum run by a bizzarro pedo..will not be posting anymore. tahnks transmit
  8. Yeah I get that, I personally don't eat apples with a apple sticker on them, the apples taste awful and don't stay as fresh when they have a sticker on them. also they are more prone to worms
  9. elon musk is a great guy but with his comments about the jews its tainting my views of him. in the big scheme many people will love him many will hate. similar to bill gates, bill helped alot of people and was still taking blows from people. also I looked up twitter dabacle on google and the like the only place still talking about this is NBT. seems a bit obsessive, but an interesting read. do you guys see his collapse or continued rise?
  10. you could check out Tubi or Pluto. they are free apps and have some retro stuff I saw married with children on pluto
  11. oh nice, I almost dropped 1600 on a s24. but my s21 is holding its own just fine. congrats on the purchase, people are raving about it and I see why. def getting a s25u when they come out. its really is a worth while purchase as phones are becoming increasingly useful they are bascially mini computers/dlsr cameras/and phones. funny how we use them as phones the least out of all the features.
  12. they are ryzen based windows 11 machines usually the best bang for buck unless you go refurbished. ill look into a t900. can't buy anythng right now as i went on a spending spree. I would like something with a decent igpu for older titles like crysis so I tend to lean towards ryzen or tenth gen intel and up. found this...it seems similar to what your talking about https://www.amazon.ca/HP-Elitedesk-Business-i5-6500T-DisplayPort/dp/B086RF1SLK/ref=sr_1_12?crid=JN3UC5B4U3EH&keywords=T900+mini+pc&qid=1707134408&sprefix=t900+mini+pc%2Caps%2C139&sr=8-12
  13. cpu at 4ghz 11800h gpu completely stock no control panel max temp 83 not sure why without control panel the gpu score is so low, im not having good luck with the new drivers
  14. settled with the ZENBOOK 14 OLED, it recieved great acclaim and review scores. alot of people are talking good about it on you tube so I pulled the trigger. A few weeks in, and it's not getting even close to the 22 hours of SOT but it does have great battery life at max brightness and actual use like streaming video. I'm seeing 6-8 hours and if I dim the display 50 percent i get 10hours of solid use. the display is gorgeous 2880x1800 OLED 90hz panel its got 100 DCI P3 coverage and really is suprising when you first see it. only flaw is the screen door effect from the coating on the touch display its noticable on white when you move close to the screen. but overall performance and battery life and temps are fantastic. big thumbs up
  15. nearly every company making billions. that money could be put back into the wallets of people making the cash flow happen(hard/smart workers) so AMAZON
  16. haha, nice. yeah I noticed that alot of the people with the exception of LTT are in their 50s-70s alot of old school gamers. Your age is closer to mine. Do you guys way down listen to that polka like music still?
  17. yes it still matters, dual channel will prevent the stuttery mess caused by single channel. looks like a great laptop, I say go for it and install another 32gb stick. 64gb is nice its what im using and it gives you peice of mind knowing you will have enough ram(future proofing) for years to come.
  18. I think GTA 6 and what they do with the PC version like updated textures VR support ect will be either the nail in the coffin for PC gaming or breath new life into the grandpa of gaming
  19. I also have no need for a desktop, a desktop use cases =0 except for wanting to dabble in 8k gaming with the 4090. utterly pointless. I heard good things about the beelink gt series. I was thinking of buying a mini pc for geforce now something with 16gb ram a ryzen cpu and 1tb storage. and the kicker is, not only are they super portable they are cheap, I think the ones I was looking at were from 350-600 cad. Like if I can spend 500 cad and get 4k maxed 60fps gaming and be able to do all the things I want/need and rival a desktop in real world performance like how snappy it feels. count me in what would you get around the 400 cad mark?
  20. windows 10 does NOT support wifi 6e Guide The Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 160MHz supports the new high-speed 6 GHz band as a part of Wi-Fi 6E, but when my school installed new 6 GHz access points, I saw my Framework running Windows 11 was still only connecting to the 5 GHz band. Here's a solution I found in case anyone else encounters this problem. Note this appears to be a problem with Intel drivers exclusive to Windows. Apparently, the newer driver versions for the AX210 (as of writing this, version 22.110.1 is current. Hopefully a new version will come out to resolve this issue) broke 6 GHz support. Rolling back to version 22.45.1.1 fixes this. To do this, you'll have to roll back the driver to a version older than this before manually installing version 22.45.1.1. Open the Device Manager (devmgmt.msc in Win+R) and find Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX210 160MHz under Network Adapters. Double-click to open Properties Under the Driver tab, note the current driver version Click Uninstall Device, and check the box to attempt to remove the driver as well Restart Go back to the Device Manager, and see if the Wi-FI adapter is still there. If it is, check the driver version. When I did this, each time I uninstalled the driver, it fell back to a previous version. I had to repeat the steps of uninstalling and restarting several times until I got all the way down to 22.0.1.5, at which point continuing to attempt to uninstall didn't change anything. I expect that you only need to go to something earlier than 22.45.1.1. It is possible that after uninstalling all of the existing drivers, the Wi-Fi adapter will no longer appear under Network Adapters, but will show up as some kind of generic "Networking Device" under Other Devices. Download driver version 22.45.1.1. I wasn't able to find this directly from Intel, but it can be downloaded from the forum post linked below. Manually install it by clicking Update Driver, Browse my computer for drivers, and then navigate to whatever folder you extracted version 22.45.1.1 to. Restart, and double-check that 22.45.1.1 shows as your current driver version. 6 GHz should now work normally. Kudos to XenulsWatching on the Intel community support forum for attaching a download for driver 22.45.1.1 https://community.intel.com/t5/Wireless/ax210-window-10-21h2-not-showing-6GHz-networks/m-p/1341116#M39195 I've still had some issues even with 22.45.1.1, but at least it's a start. EDIT: As of driver version 22.240.0.6, this has still not been fixed - no 6 GHz connectivity on Windows 11.
  21. anyone here under the age of 70? people wondered who did this for years. many people in gen x loved him and his art. all boomers here? anyone around 30?
  22. what are your guyes temps..im getting 60c with a run of timespy and a score of 8800-9000. I cant seem to break 9k without breaking temps into the 80s. at this point i dont mind sacrificing 3 fps for 50-60c temps and longevity.
