  1. anyone here know the ETA on steel nomad benchmark? going to be like timespy which is pretty exciting, it will be interesting to see what games in the future will look like and how they will perform. going to get it day one. also going all out on a 5090 setup, decided to do this because i'll plan on leaving it as is for 5 years then the return will be pretty great. by the time 5 years has passed laptops will have caught up to the 5090. if they are like pascal gen i'll have made a big mistake
  2. yeah Im getting money for pain and suffering now...this time I have every laptop I could ever need like 5 computers and its kinda funny using a 1000 dollar laptop as a chromecast lol..but hey I guess if two go down. in the end they will likely get sold off after being upgraded hopefully I make money not lose money, thinking ebay is my best bet. going to get about 1800 likely, and I can from what you guys shown get a pretty nice desktop for 1800. will be fun benchmarking and gaming at 4k. if only you could benchmark nvidias GFN gpus, lol funny stuff....calls nvidia to tweak settings. for gaming a xbox series x or geforce now on a mini pc is the logical thing to do as I can't see my future changing and 0 good games are being released that look like they were built in the 10s and 20s. I booted up half life 2 from 2005 and thought hey this looks pretty good and im getting great frames to boot. booted up forza and thought ugh lee. trees look like blob then pop into detail a foot away. alot of games are poorly thought out, they look gawd awful and its funny seeing people spend 6000 to play something that has worse lods than a 2005 game in 2024. but hey each to their own
  3. Do you guys ever do benchmarks for built in benchmarks? like say cyberpunk maxed with/without dlss and even if you get 10fps its something. I think I get like 9fps at 1080p maxed in cyberbug. also, Its possible im doing my overclocking wrong, it seems as though when I set it to 2100 it hovers around 1900 and isn't thermally limited, this problem iv'e had for awhile and cant find any guides on google that work. also what do you get stock with your 2080s
  4. was gone for a bit taking a break/ came back and saw this. llleeeeeets goooooo. Im super excited about this benchmark, its going to look good and run like crysis. I just hope I average above 30fps but it will likely be 10fps average if speedway is anything to go by. Im looking forwards to everyones benchmarks over in the laptop and desktop benchmark thread
  5. I always thought the 2080 was close to a 3060 or even, Im likely remembering 2080 max q variants. yup max q i think. either way I broke 9900 in timespy with close very close to 9700 in timespy graphics. cpu wont budge and im currently working on driver tweaks to bump the score to 10 000. it will be a feat to say the least, this is a underpowered omen 16 3060 I think it boosted to 115w stock so getting a score past 9000 was pretty difficult, hard to believe with vbios and driver tweaks im able to even see 9900. I reinstalled windows and gave it a go with the newest drivers and for the most part it was recreatable. IM scoring the same on gpu 9665 and cpu this time around is 11200 and doesnt see to budge no matter what I do. Im going to try my reg tweak for L2 cache and see if I can squeeze out 200 on cpu and 50 on gpu to see 10 k reporting in with some bad news lol I got my highest score of 9700 thinking I could recreate it, and lool see below. I can't beat 9700 not even a point over 9700. and cpu is locked at 11200 almost like a sick joke.
  6. yeah my memory is very bad, scary at times. Its like i have alzheimers
  7. @chew I gotta admit, that is impressive, and I find it funny how a low end forum like NBT houses basically the top 10 percent of all benchmarkers. like just about everyone is scoring top scores with given hardware. I broke 9925 in timespy with my omen 16 pretty happy about that, and after applying tweaks im at a stand still with tweaking, no idea what to do next maybe a LOD tweak but I consider that cheating.
  8. Bro, My temps were great for a while but it could have been that my window was open and its 0c outside lol. I dont know windows are closed and instead of 87c max im seeing 95c max at lower clocks 4.4ghz vs 4.6ghz but score wise after de dusting and applying the thermal paste the performance on the gpu has gone up tremendously. I think its possible HP just did a terrible job with the stock paste and the temp differences im seeing are superficial. See this, the value speaks for itself. I have been posting benchmarks for 2 years and my old max of roughly 9650 and it was basically impossible to get higher as power was the limiting factor. now that I can undervolt and have lower temps its making a pretty big difference in overall score, if I break 10k It will be like getting down on one knee to this old omen. I will be incredibly happy about it and it's looking like its a possibility I think its not impressive for a desktop 3060 or a full powered 3060 in laptops with decent cooling stock. like the score I was getting 8300 was the old stock and the old stock overclock score of roughly 9000 was hard to pass and a long shot. the tdp increase with the new vbios and the iets gt500 and ptm7950 all add up to a big gain. in games the difference is larger, especially at 4k.
  9. yeah if my mistakes are anything to go by saving settings is key, as slight changes can cause negative swings in scores. I use deep freeze and everytime I reboot all reg and settings/files are reverted back and I can keep the level im getting now for years..he has a free 60 day trial and the file only costs 50 bucks but if your serious about computers its well worth the price and easily my best software investment.. also its hard to believe you broke 10k on gpu, I always thought the 2080=3060 performance wise. its crazy but like 90 percent of the best tweakers and overlcocking enthusiasts are on NBT and NBR(rip). it's not uncommon for someone here to post and say they have the number one score. and yeah ambient temps play a huge role in performance and temps while overclocking. Im going to spend 400 and buy a air conditioner for my room so I can overclock and bench in the summer, might buy a new toy to play with. maybe a 4080 laptop or heck even a 4090
  10. Hi guys. I have Be200--works ax210--not working mt7922--not working s21 ultra cell phone---works as you can see my 6e router spits out 6ghz at 1700mbps my zenbook wont connect or show 6ghz bands with its mt7922 wifi card my hp omen with its ax210 also wont show or connect to 6ghz bands what region setting are required and what do I do to get this working, I seem to be the only one on the planet un able to get 6 ghz working with 6e cards. the wifi 7 card was plug and play and worked out of the box
  11. ping was cut in half. went from 28ms at best with ax201 to 14ms with be200
  12. get ryzen controller, find out your cpus max tdp set and forget...should give you a 50 percent boost this is with experience on my amd ryzen 7 5825u its tdp by default is 15w when i set all the tdp values to 25w(safe) it bumps performance by 43 percent i was getting 900 stock in timespy..now im getting 1500 Ryzen™ Z1 Extreme Processor | AMD you can super safely set yours to 30w and btw i set mine to 38w 13w over what the max is and its safe, just don't play with voltages unless your seanwee or talon do a run stock the best you can get download this Ryzen Controller set temp to 90c and all boxes that say tdp set three or four of them to 30w run a test and report back
  13. this is my cool settings. 16x af and high quality settings in nvdia control panel with a drastic undervolt and low cpu clocks, ironically a stock omen 16s 11800h stabilizes around 3.4ghz with temps in the mid 80s and odd 90c spikes according to notebookcheck. it scores 8400 stock. my tweaked to hell and back omen can do that in it's sleep well I succeeded. I opened my bedroom windows(1c outside) cooled room to 17c and ran benchmark underclocked and undervolted and saw max temps on cpu and gpu of 48c. crazy cool so yeah you could say going from 74c to 48c is a pretty big deal, this stuff rocks heres the evidence just in case you think im exagerating looks like im stuck until i find a way to unlock my 3200mhz ram or overclock it on a happy note thanks to this amazing stuff i came in second in night raid which is a testament of my overall system snappiness and raw power, surely a sight to behold as it takes on the horns of azeroth and stampedes down the dark harrowing passage, only time will tell.lmao...this is getting ridiculus
  14. how many cycles exactly? are we talking 10-20 or like 100-500. I'm not sure if my temps are better after about 10 cycles or not but when I lock framerate to 40 and run at 3.4ghz cpu and 1650gpu undervolted im topping out at 50-53c stabilizes around 50c and 51c kinda bounces back and forth for a while. this 51c temp on cpu and gpu is after 45min gaming session so its legit. I don't recall ever being able to game on any computer for more than a few seconds and remain in the low 50s so its a first for me. but then again I have this honken ass large iets gt500 that sounds like a jet engine firing up and ptm7950 albiet a poor job i did pasting(hands got shakey). ill post the relative performance in a second
  15. honestly its not the overclocking performance im happy about. its the fact my stock performance is up and I can now game without worrying about temps. i still monitor with msi afterburner, habits never die. going to be undervolting as I don''t mind lowering settings to improve performance and keeping temps cool. one things for certain im using this stuff on every one of my laptops. my zenbook could really benefit.
  16. yeah I post horrible things then completely go blank as to why their horrible! wish I had better memory
  17. Ye haw..pretty happy about my new performance, only cost 20 bucks and 5 minutes of time. Temps seem to be going up not sure why as Iv'e heard with PTM they go down with time. Goin to see if I can get 50c runs going
  18. just playing grid legends, looks great at night in the rain and pretty fun. unrealistic stearing but arcade like racers tend to be better unless its gran turismo
  19. yep it helps/ dusting and paste had to be done and its the ptm pads temps before upwards of 99c now around 70c on gpu and 85on cpu with 4.6ghz so lower temps with higher clocks. with the settings ill be using for gaming undervolted and overclocked gpu and cpu set to 4ghz(200 under stock) I get 56-65c stabilizes at 61c ill run a quick run 62c on gpu and max 66c on cpu average 64c pretty dramatic decrease. well worth the 30 bucks...only a 15-20c drop in temps(dedusting also) no biggie lol but thats with a de dusting I think before i was getting similar performance, the pads work well dropping temps by 5-10c. also now I can overclock and game for hours and hours, god of war runs at 32fps average ultra dlss off
  20. yeah perspective plays a large role, Alot of people swear by ultra settings but I dont notice the difference. I run low/medium textures and everything else cranked because why not in grid legends at 4k and get a locked 60fps with underclocking and undervolting cpu/gpu. alot of newer games are not even that demanding. hogwarts and hell divers sure ill get 30fps all low but if I remember correctly they have dlss which if you sit back a few feet is a game changer. overall I say the 3060 is perfect for 1080p/1440p gaming and should last a deal longer, I just hope that nvidia releases the new ssd as ram setting for older cards, they are talking about using m.2 ssds storage as vram maybe your son can beat this score but for a 115w 3060 in the omen 16 it's bonkers. quite a bit higher than all other omen 16 benchmarks. my highest score yet, I really did not think using a preview version of windows 11 and 20 dollar paste would make a 300 point uplift in timespy. I think my previous high was around 9550-9600.
  21. I just got a wifi 7 card, don't have a wifi 7 router yet but id imagine ping will be good. what do you think about ping wouldn't 2.4ghz band aggregation cause higher ping
  22. broke down and bought a wifi 7 card(BE200) hoping the 6ghz band would just show....and drum roll...yep it just shows. finally able to see and use my 1.5gig internet. AX210 and MT7922 are terrible cards as default they lock out the 6ghz band which is funny because people buy the 6e cards for 6e, facepalm. @kojack go on amazon and buy the intel be200. this thing screams and its wifi 7. bands all show up quote: I replaced my Intel / Killer Wi-Fi 6 nic with a WiFi 6E card and Windows 10 will not display 6ghz wi-fi networks, but you can enable 6Ghz networks in the adapter settings. It just won't let you choose a 6Ghz network in the wi-fi list (Windows 10) Then I upgraded the NIC to a BE200NGW for 6Ghz (160 and 320 Mhz) and changed to windows 11 and everything shows up and I can connect to 6Ghz networks in Windows 11. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I took your advice/experiences and bought a be200 to see if 6ghz bands would show and just like you they did. going to be buying 3 more for my other laptops.
  23. got my ram and wifi card, had to reseat ram but now its good, 24gb of ram now 16gb in dual channel. the be200 wifi card is amazing, super fast 5800mbs and shows the 6ghz band by default, I'm pretty sure its the fastest wifi card money can buy, but it is pricey at 60cad vs the typical 6e card around 20-20cad(<---someones editing my posts and changing the details) 20-30 bucks is what I typed
