been overclocking my ryzen 7 5825u by increasing TDP with ryzen controller. you know your a die hard when your overclocking thin and light trying to squeeze out 2 fps more in minesweeper. its got a vega 8 and can run all the light games like gta 5 at 2880 x 1800 with high settings albeit at 30fps. but for the heavy lifting I use a 4080 included with the ge force now premium subscription. I honestly dont move around much with my laptops and have reasonable internet and geforce now after a few updates and tweaks looks native on a 14in-15in display. things get ugly at 4k on a tv though you have to sit back 40 feet and shes golden. 5090 is going to be exciting, I wonder if we will see 240hz 4k tvs this/next year I know a few are 144hz now but it would be nice to see some advancement in tech besides graphics cards and cpus. Microslop needs to get its priorites together and allow the OS to actually benefit from gen 5 ssds. I mean with 10 000 mbs things should be rather fast especially when latency needs to be measured using quantum mechanics. if the 5090 ends up being like say 50 percent faster than the 4090 im going to jump aboard and just keep it for 5 years to justify the cost for the games I play(2015-1999). as for cpus seeing your guys benchmarks its sobering knowing that my 12k vs your 50k is something to rethink the whole laptop life. hard to pull the trigger, if only prices were like half what they are. reason I ended up with a laptop again was because of geforce now and my lack of actually gaming much in titles like baldurs gate 3 or hogwarts, the appeal for these kiddos esque games just leaves a sour taste. TLDR: 5090 hopefully is 50 percent faster than the 4090

@tps3443 they recently added path tracing and if you have that enabled your frames will be cut to a third

getting a refund? Im missing something as usual. Not alot of talk out of 100 billion internet webpages about the dangers of AI, no one has said a specific thing they are worried about. A gun for example, one could say the bullet can kill someone. Ai will? with? what are your concerns specifically with AI, like a bullet from a gun. will Ai become so smart it will say a few things that will cause people to go crazy? not trolling, honest question wondering what others think about AI and the specifics I found this a while back it goes more into what. 41k? jesus i laughed a little, thats crazy had no idea the 4090 was such a beast never really looked as I can't afford one. 25 percent faster then? still I'd kill for a 4080 super and kill twice for a 4090. btw your getting 200 with very high at 1440p, I cant even get 30fps, honestly I see alot of comments on youtube where people wish they had a 4090 because I think its safe to say the card will be good for 5 plus years.

as you know I was a hair trigger away from getting a desktop, but I just dont need it(not quite yet). Im holding off till its time to upgrade(when games don't run above 30fps). I just looked up average 4090 scores (30k) and talons score of 30999. the average 4090 is similar to a overclocked 4080 super, so that explains the crazy results. 150fps is bonkers. I would be happy with low 4k 120. the game is suprisingly demanding at high settings. most people still game at 1080p and the fact the option to game at 4k with similar performance is just awesome. something for everyone.

no combo gets even close to 150fps and even with upscaled 1440p I cant touch it lowest 4k vs highest 4k I think its still playable at 45fps but its not going to be as immersive as your 4080 super or the other 4090s. your 4080 super must be pretty close to a 4090?? this is with my 3060, most people have a 1060-3060 level gpu at least thats what it was like not to long ago. just goes to show how much we are spoiled by hardware. like honestly if someone was comfortable with 1440p the 4080 super and 4090 would last like half a decade of quality gaming at good framerates, the real test will be when GTA VI comes out soon, I really hope I can run it off my 3060(doubtful) or maybe it will come to geforce now(doubtful)

45c? do you have an air conditioner blowing on it? seems like water cooled results. something seems off I get 25fps at 4k high, 150 fps over what the majority of people have is a nice treat, enjoy your new toy. No laptop can touch that level of performance and when you upgrade to a 5k series you should be able to get a fair amount back. but for the time being I guess your pretty lucky as 120fps locked at 4k feels amazing. I can do that on pre 2013 games and its great, I can't imagine a recent title like god of war running at 150 4k high. also if you havent dipped into it, it really is a great game I dabbled a little in it and it has a great story and overall fairly easy to get into.

the 13in macbook airs are a great buy, I don't own one but read a few rave reviews. If battery is king i'd look at a refurbished pro.

Im using geforce now, bought a 6month 4080 subscription. It runs and looks good. I honestly will never buy anything that isn't oled again, battery life is better with the zenbook than the vivobook but not by much, the reason I bought it was because reviewers were claiming 11 hours usage at max brightness, in my testing im getting 5-6hours go figure and now its too late to take it back as I dont need 4 laptops/lol.

I think its a good buy, but I recently bought two OLED Laptops and an OLED tv and I can't go back. I recommend getting a OLED laptop with a 4060. I would look at the Zenbook 16 pros they are built great and perform well, only thing you have to do is remove bloatware and i'd say you will have a pretty solid laptop. it's not like it was 4 years ago as clevo was a easy recommend, now things have changed. I would avoid MSI and Razer and Stick with HP and asus. Your best bet is finding a laptop with the specs you need then doing a quick google search of pros and cons in a review as thats all we do. welcome back 🙂

Congrats on your new toy. I wonder what the uplift in crysis remastered will be, and starfield should run at a locked 60fps at 4k. You should be able to do 8k/60 in forza horizon 5, which i'd like to say is one of the best looking games out.

its a repetitive game and once the story is done thats all she wrote. i can see why less people are playing a few months after release as they have beat the game. only so many people bought it. so its not suprising

So you think companies are greedy, typically gouging the poor? how much do you think an Iphone costs to make? 10 bucks, 10usd and you have a brand spanking new iphone 15 pro max. and they are selling it for what again? 1400? this is greed at it's finest. they could be just moderately greedy and sell it for 100 usd but they find it more amusing taking food out of kids mouths every year. greedy? nah? evil!!

the average score for timespy and a 4090 is roughly 30k the average score for timespy and a 4090 mobile is roughly 20.5k 50 percent disparity but then again its like 4x the size and non portable, the thing thats concerning is the naming and prices. as you have stated we are getting 4070 levels of performance, would it hurt to call it a 4070. If you don't like portability desktop is still the way to go but if you ever need to travel the answer is obvious. I wonder why with the passage of time and tech advancement cell phones have gotten increasingly advanced and tiny yet desktops have remained the same beasts of yesteryear.

I have to agree, alot of people jump ship each year. just for bragging rights. I persoanlly have lasted 2.5 years with my 3060 and 11800h and wont be using r24. Im glad I waited because the wait to get a 5090 laptop will soon be over, nows a good time to save up. 500 here 500 there. will have 40 000 in no time lol. geesus have laptops gotten expensive, still a better buy than desktops. you can just fold and off you go, and with 80-90 percent of desktop performance. heres hoping we see another pascal generation. It's good timing because GTA 6 will be out by the time 5090 laptops are out and it should be able to run it at 4k medium.

it will be interesting to see how the 1060-4060s hold up. I dont think ill see anything past single digits but it ill be nice seeing where were at. I can still game at 1080p and 1440p is weak in the knees, and 4k although possible 2 years ago, its now a distant memory. I don't think ill be going mid range again, although its true by the time next gen is out the top tier card may be obsolete, look at the 1080 holding its ground even in 2024, utterly incredible. That was not my highest score, just a metric for the new drivers, I think my top score just broke 9500 in gpu with timespy. 100- points off isn't the end of the world and the added features like AI upscaling make the trade offs worth it. I think im going to start comparing with high quality filtering and 4x AF from now on just to give me an accurate or more accurate guage of what to expect gaming wise. the difference is about 300-400 points but heres my underclocked cpu and overclocked gpu and gaming settings gauge. this is my new baseline, its what I game with. I can increase the cpu clocks a bit more but temps hit 90c and other components get too hot causing laptop to shutdown, so yeah not the brightest idea increasing cpu speed
