  1. thx bud much appreciated! currently trying to get a stable baseline at 7600, from which i can extend my tuning again.
  2. humtz no luck getting 7800/8000/8100 stable, at least not with voltages im comfortable with. bro @Mr. Fox what kinda voltages are u running? heres my list of max values, which i wouldnt like exceeding for 24/7: SOC 1.30V (bios limit) VDDIO 1.58 Misc 1.575 VDDP 1.199 RAM VDD/VDDQ 1.69 VDDG IOD/CCD both at 1.10 (FCLK stabilization, unrelated to RAM)
  3. yes ofc even with the right price itll leave a very bad aftertaste in your mouth..... urgh on a brighter note, can confirm that FCLK 2200 is stable on my sample 🙂
  4. well technically that would qualify as a new tier between 5090 and 5080, say a 5080 Ti SuperDuper ROPless edition?! 😂 if its pricing is settled somewhere between 999 and 1999 then sure why not. in the end its all about pricing. so finally getting around to some tuning time with my 9950X3D. able to boot FCLK 2200, thats a good sign. havent checked for full stability yet, want to get a feel of the landscape firsr. at first i could only get 2133 to boot but was able to massage 2200 into booting via upping PLL and VDDG voltages. actually first time that upping VDDG did anything for me 😄 now doing quick n dirty boot tests for max DDR5 frequencies. see if im rather limited by the board, the sticks or the CPU IMC. lets see if i can finally get 8000 stable or maybe even 8200 to boot...fingers crossed boiz! oh and a quick update on my suprim 5090 order: shop got back to me and confirmed that next shipment from MSI should arrive at their shop beginning of april 🙂 that i can live with if its just +/- a week or so. just wanted to make sure its not several months or anything crazy like that.... edit: cool, just booted DDR5-8100 🙂 looks like they now have finer grained frequency steps starting with 8000. 8200 still no go, unfortunately. now lets see how far i can push FCLK 😄 edit 2: nope, topping out at 2200. now lets test for stability....
  5. good input from bro @triturbo there might be smth going on with your power draw.
  6. you can do that but i suspect that might either do nothing or brick the card @vbios editing 😄 whats the total system wattage ure pulling during load?
  7. afaik the 50 series cards with LM preapplied actually source their stuff from Thermal Grizzly. Roman did an LM analysis and found that its basically identical to Conductonaut Extreme 😄 (im hoping they did indeed source the LM from TG and didnt just reproduce it by themselves 😛 wouldnt put it past them....) anyways, point being that u likely wont see much difference with a reapplication 🙂 ha, almost spot on same pricing after taxes as in my case 😄 starting to see a pattern here with @Papusan me and you 😛
  8. welp furmark isnt reliable anymore since nvidia built in artificial downclocks whenever its run. but i get your point, seems like ure good to go. hm this is weird, difficult to pinpoint if this is hardware / firmware or software related.
  9. do the usual checklist: - gpu temps all good? optimal coverage of SMDs with thermal pads, making goo contact? - try various different benchmarks / games to be sure that the gpu is being fully utilized. also make sure ure not hitting a CPU bottleneck, that might keep the GPU below its peak performance
  10. i was actually thinking about a complete backside thermal pad... putty is more messy but also "more good" 😄 plus no need for additional maintenance, one and done. atm im planning to go all in with Thermal Grizzly, Duronaut on the core and Putty Pro on everything else. Should be a fun little side project. but ill do full stock benches and temps first before i go ahead with that. pretty comparable then, i got the Suprim Air for 2970 USD before taxes. not ideal by any stretch of the imagination but "only" 270 USD / +10% above the currently listed MSRP in the MSI store at 2700 USD. i can live with that...
  11. yes of course, naturally 😛 still better than nothing with no additional data available 😄
  12. not many reviews out yet since its still new on the market. cross-referenced against toms hardware to get some context:
  13. same reason you got urself a liquid cooled card: every little bit helps 😛 😄 especially with the 5090 thats running full tilt right outta the gate. itll definitely help with getting higher bins during oc. plus: its fun to tinker!😄 i think im gonna go the Duronaut route, first reviews are quite positive and see it maybe 1-2C away from LM: https://www.enostech.com/thermal-grizzly-duronaut-thermal-paste/ thanks for your input guys 🙂 i was indeed leaning against LM, but wanted to make sure.
  14. good topic to mention, as opposed to the 4090 im definitely planing to pimp up the cooling on the 5090, seeing as our best chance to do overclocking is keeping the card as cool as possible (or shunt modding, which is not an option for me). in this context i was thinking of going putty all around and also covering the complete backside of the gpu to make use of the metal backplate. in this context i need some input from you bros @Mr. Fox @Papusan or anyone else with regards to the gpu core: would u recommend going liquid metal, PTM7950 / graphene pad or a highend paste like Duronaut (just got in a batch of that for testing). trying to balance cooling performance and the need for maintenance on this one. liquid metal should give the best results, although on the much larger GPU silicon the temp drops shouldnt be as significant as on a CPU i imagine. but with LM ill run the risk of having to repaste after a few months due to dry out. id like to avoid that after having plastered putty all over the PCB 😛 so best to do a one and done kinda deal 😄 any input appreciated 🙂
  15. on a tangentially related note: i looooooooooooooooove Kirsten Dunst 😍 (and yes my wife knows 😛 😄) edit: back on topic, payment went through and received order confirmation from the french shop for the 5090 suprim 🙂 now to wait until the next batch of cards comes in, should be end of this / beginning of next week.
  16. oh im not planning to sell my whole system 😄 so itll definitely be just the parts im upgrading: CPU, SSDs, GPU and yes, im quite optimistic about landing a good price for my 4090 with current market conditions 🙂
  17. no account at overclock.net, have just been a lurker these past few years. but i might do a thread in the marketplace here 🙂 huh i had no idea about france in this context! good to know, will expand my hardware searches to french shops then. thats the good thing about the EU, aside from shipping no extra tax/customs for imported goods 🙂 yessir 😁
  18. abso-frigging-lutely! never ordered at this french shop before, but trustpilot gives it a 96% positive rating with 200k+ reviews, so i think im good 😄 cheapest available in germany was 300€ more, with most offers at 500€ more than what i paid now. can definitely live with that 🙂 now to prepare my 7950X, 4090 Suprim and the V1 AM5 IHS for sale on fleabay. Those together with my SSDs should bring in the 5090 price easily, with 1k+ to spare (good savings baseline for the 6090 LOL)
  19. aight boiz, the wait is at an end! for the first time EVER, a notification system actually WORKED 😄 while i was re-installing the soft cover of my little princess car seat after washing (was about time, that thing was NASTY, crumbs n stains galore 😄 ), i glanced at my phone and there it was: an in-stock notification for the RTX 5090 Suprim (Air) at a reputable french online shop! Transferred funds, finalized order, wham bam thank you ma`am! And just in time, as well, their supply was sold out inside of 10 min. Current info I have is that it will be prepared and shipped out inside of 7 days, should be good! PS: ah yes, pricing LOL. so that was about 160€ below my budgeting limit 🙂
  20. yup, TM5 is my go-to to dial in D2D FCLK overclocks, works like a charm with the anta777 absolut config 🙂 same goes for D2D RAM OC including subtimings. noice. out of curiosity, what would be ur max frequency at the minimum 800mV core voltage?
  21. keep us posted on the SP ratings for both your 9950X cpus, im highly interested. i was literally SHOCKED when i saw the load temps on my stock lidded 9950X3D with CB2024 and CB R23... 200W package load maxed out at a measly 76C, with average temps even lower. at first i thought i mightve messed something up with the fan settings in bios after upgrading, but nope...it is just THAT much colder, absolutely insane. my 7950X easily broke 90C, sometimes creeping up to 94-95C depending on the ambient temps. delidding and swapping out the IHS should result in craaaaazy OC headroom, both for CPU and RAM 🙂
  22. offers popping up at just +100€ over my budgeting limit....
  23. yeah ure right...best to just send it back and get a refund, not worth all the fuss 😛😉 hope the internal box is alright! ugh...
